were just waiting for a close match so you could claim that someone was exposed. all four of those fighters who fought on showtime were the real deal and the guys who lost are title contenders on down the line.
i done told all of you that cotto is the real deal and he'd look much more fluid at 147. clottey held his own and was a warrior to fight with and injured left...his main weapon. basically anybody trying to discredit any of these dues needs to shut the fuck up.
cotto/mayweather 2007.
I did not ever claim to have seen the fight. I brought up the injury because it was something that was a serious issue when it ocurred and something I thought might factor into the fight. It was not mentioned on this forum, from what I saw, and I thought it deserved it's own thread.
Tisk tisk Bozo. Resorting to personal attacks yet again. This is getting boring for both of us.
Making fun of your goofy looking ass is amusing, especially when it's coming at a time when you're 'amusing' yourself arguing about fights you didn't see.
Like I said, do everyone a favor, have a nice cup of shut the fuck up, and go watch the fight. Loser.
Bozo, you're a joke.
You're a joke circus, and a goofy looking mother fucker.
You didn't see this fight, and are trying to discuss and argue it's specifics with people that did.
Like I said earlier, you should do everyone a favor, shut the fuck up and go and look for a download.
The way 2 judges scored the fight 118-112 was ridiculous. Clottey deserves another shot at a belt. Margarito has a good chin. Lucky that Clottey broke his hands. (Finger on the left hand i think). Margarito thinks that he will catch floyd with those looping overhand punches? Nah uh.. Margarito looked predicatable last night. Clottey should have boxed more and avoid staying in close with Tony. That's why he probaly injured his hands. Tony hits hard, but if you are going to be a stationary target offcourse your going to accumalate damage blocking or not.
IMO Clottey should get another chance at another name at welterweight. I wouldn't mind seeing a rematch, but im sure Tony won't want that.
Here's my post from 11-22:
"I'd give Clottey a better shot of beating Tony than Williams, slightly. Clottey is very underrated and is basically undefeated. He was beating Baldomir before he was DQ'd late. He's got a tight attack, goes to the body well, good chin, etc. Clottey v. Margarito should be very good.
Williams is there to be hit with so much room when he throws those awkward punches, I just don't see him being able to take Margarito's punches all night. We all agree both Williams and Margarito will be able to land clean shots consistently on each other, it seems, it's just that everyone is in disagreement over who can take who's punches."
Most singing Margarito's demise were simply clueless to how good Clottey was. How about giving him credit for taking this fight and showing the determination to win? Clottey was doing well early keeping his hands up and countering with that laser left hand, but when Tony would move forward and throw punches, Clottey would go defensive 90% of the time. So what did Tony do? He made the adjustment to simply never stop moving forward and throwing punches. That's how he won, that and a granite chin. He took some steam off of his punches and just never stopped throwing, and it was an insane amount of power shots he threw last night.
So how about some props to Tony for making an adjustment and being able to have the insane stamina to do what it took to win against a very tough fighter to hit clean and look good against?
Look at how full of shit you are. Tony's "adjustment" was taking advantage of Clottey being unable to throw his left hand suddenly, which had him clearly winning the early portion of the fight.
Margarito is lucky, becuase he was well on his way to losing that fight. He's over hyped, and you're one of the worst on this site for over hyping him.
I said he's just another lower top 10 welterweight and those rankings by RING and the WBO back up that statement. Are you that desperate to hype up Margarito that you are trying to build up Clottey as the best welterweight in the world? What a joke...
When the hell did I claim Clottey was the best welterweight in the world? So a fighter is either the best in the world or a C- journeyman who's lucky to have a win on his record. LOL you guys are funny.

I second that, Cotto looked real good.
Right, 6th, and 10th in the world depending on who you ask. Legitimate contender either way. A far cry from the member of the bottom 10 in the division you just described him as. In that case he would be a tomato can with a losing record.
Cotto looked very strong, and that's coming after Quintana looked to be using his size and akwardness to create problems early.
It was in theory a bad style for Cotto in his 1st fight at Welter, and he blew right through that akwardness and scored a strong stoppage.
Margarito imo was lucky Clottey hurt his hand. It looked like he had some answers for Margarito's stance and style but that was all for not in losing his left hand, which is his best punch.
Credit to Margarito for seizing the opportunity. The Willams fight should have no trouble getting made now.
Good night of fights on Showtime.
I think that Margarito was lucky as well. Clottey's double left hook is a major weapon and he clearly didn't want to use the left in the next couple of rounds after the injury occurred. A couple of those rounds contained great action however.
Cotto's future at 147 is looking great. Quintana (as you mentioned) presented a lot of problems for Cotto on paper and it did translate to the fight for awhile...until Miguel figured him out. The movement, height and reach was something I was worried about, as Miguel was vulnerable to being hit on his way in. He actually did a great job of catching punches on his gloves though. He has to be the most heavy handed fighter in the sport. Dude beats the fight out of his opponents.
How the hell do you get into the top 5 in a division without beating a top 5 fighter? Margarito has been feeding off the bottom 10 at welterweight at best. Clottey was a continuation of that trend...
Clottey a bottom 10 welterweight? Do you realize how ridiculous you just sounded there?

Good night of fights on Showtime.
You and other trash-talking couch fans should fight toughman. Not Margarito. Margarito is rated top 5 at 147 in the sport of boxing, not Toughman. He would destroy you in the ring and has beaten everyone he has faced at 147 for many years.
Every style is not meant to be like Wright's or Floyd's. In boxing, there are brawlers and in Margarito's case, objectively, it has been to his advantage for him to fight the way he fights.
I'm not a boxer, of course Margarito would kick my ass. How deep did you have to reach into your asshole to pull that one out? The people he's "destroyed" amount to nothing, argue that. I dare you.
Margarito's style is not his advantage, it's his size. He has no style, he just crowds you and uses his size to his advantage. In the ring against any skilled boxer he would eat leather all night long. Let alone the greatest boxer of the last 10 years.
I think Torres and Quintanna are both pretty good fighters. I picked Carlos to beat Cotto. Therefore, Cotto must be given credit for being the excellent fighter that he is.
The same goes for Margarito because Clottey is underated and Margarito has beaten everyone he has faced at 147 for about 8 years I believe.
Margarito doesn't belong in the sport of boxing, period. He should try out toughman competitions or some shit because if he got in there with the likes of a skilled boxer, like Floyd Mayweather, he'd have to retire out of shame afterwards.

People always say Cotto has a bad chin. He has only been knocked down once and even then it was a push. Hes been hurt a couple times and within minutes he was fine. The Corley shot was quick and he didnt see it. Floyd got cought with the same exact shot. The only reason people are saying Corley was wrong for going to the body is because Manny Steward was bitching about it. If people had that on mute I bet they wouldnt be saying this.
