MIGUEL COTTO reminds me so much of ARTURO GATTI

Both have multiple remarkable comeback wins. All the comebacks wins coming by way of KO. Gatti vs Ruelas Gatti vs Rodriguez Cotto vs Corley Cotto vs Torres All 4 of which were fight of the year canditates, the gatti ones winning FOTY in some slow years for boxing. Great fights none the less. And BOTH guys are rediculously exciting when there opponent wants to bang, both dont mind getting hit just land a shot, and both have great power. I think Cotto may have a career equalling Gattis when its all said and done Gatti had great fights with Ward, Robinson, Rodriguez, Ruelas, and Manfedy. Great great fights, against so-so competition Cotto has already had great fights against Corley and Torres, both decent, and look at the lineup for future matchups: -Zab Judah -Floyd Mayweather -Antonio Margarito -Paul Williams -Shane Mosley -Kermit Cintron -maybe he'll move up and fight Ouma or Forrest at 154 Just look at that. All mouthwatering matchups, and if they all live up to the hype then Cotto has one of the more memorable careers of our generation coming up

Come on. Sure Gatti didn't protest "one more round" loudly like Corrales did against Casamayor the first time around. But he was getting the crap beaten out of him and couldn't land anything. Even if he didn't ask for another round, I'd give him a pass. We all like to think of fighters as warriors who would die in the ring, maybe some would, but they're human and most of them have limits to how far they will go.

Well he was a beaten fighter with ZERO hope and he was EXTREMELY frustrated. Wtf am i doing, trying to convince someone that gatti has heart. If you cant see it now, you never will... but how cant u see it? I never said that Gatti has no heart. Let's just say that Mcgirt's conversation with him on that 6th round wouldn't be shown in vid showcasing Gatti's heart through his career.

I checked another vid and he did asked for 1 more rnd. You guys were right about that. But let just say it was half ass attemped it was obvious he didn't want no more. He was definitely getting punished and humiliated but please made up stuff. 1. He didn't wobble a few times to his corner. He did walk tired as hell to his corner on the 6th, basically asking Mcgirt to stop the fight with his body language. 2. He didn't argued about the fight stoppage and if he asked for one more rnd, it must have being edited from the youtube video. I don't remebered hearing that. well you need to listen again,cause he did

B) He DID ask for one more round, but anybody with half a brain would have stopped the fight at that point, and only a idiot would complain. Especially go against the word of Mcgirt, a guy who clearly cares a lot more about Gatti then money He was definitely getting punished and humiliated but please made up stuff. 1. Gatti had some decent skills. He showed pretty good boxing skills in some his fights, like the two bouts with Patterson for instance.

Geez, what the hell is all this downgrading of Gatti? Gatti wasnt ever really the best of the best or anything, but he IS a two weight class champ, defended his titles a few times, and also defeated a few former world champions...and actually was an awesome offensive fighter, he won fights somehow ya know, sure as hell not with his defence...btw, anyone who doubts Gattis heart has no idea what theyre talking about. He gets blown away by talented boxer punchers, and always had trouble with quick hands and jabs...last time I checked, Cotto is NOT that kind of fighter. I wouldnt exactly put my money on Gatti if we're talking about a matchup between the 2, but he sure as hell doesnt get blown out by Cotto's style, and imo prime Gatti has a damn decent chance against a 140 Cotto, where hes been badly hurt against less talented offensive fighters than Gatti. ________ Honda Today

?????This must be the amatuer analyst corner... Gatti is garbage compared to Cotto. Time will prove. Cotto is waaay more skilled than Gatti ever was. The only fighter Gatti resembles is Rocky Balboa. you guys should read my post before you comment. I never ONCE mentioned skill level. Clearly COTTO is on another level then Gatti. BUt there careers have taken such a similar path. In terms of, 2 exciting comeback KO wins, and a line up of WARS in there immediate futures

idk where this talk about cotto not minding gettin hit so long as he lands started but its true just that when most say it they say it like thats all hes doin when he comes forward tryin to land caution to the wind and doesnt mind gettin hit like hes welcomin it cotto isnt that dumb hes got a great defense he rarely gets hit flush couple times hes been rocked but he in no way is a caution to the wind type fighter he may not mind in terms of if it happens it happens like ya dont cry over spilt milk but he does everything he can to avoid it lateral movement head movement very excellent at catchin punches on the gloves hell go way farther then gatti

You say that like it is a compliment. Miguel Angel Cotto will have been a massive failure in terms of in ring success if he becomes Arturo Gatti. Just because he's exciting sometimes doesn't mean he sucks like Gatti did.

cotto prime vs. gatti prime = cotto win to me but... cotto prime vs. old gatti will be a reality if Cotto looses by knockout to Judah i didn't see much of gatti prime but he seem more of a teddy reid fighter to me will cotto has GOOD defense at times

nah nothing like eachother and i think gatti would knock cotto out in his prime,gattis chin was too solid and cottos too weak,it would only take 1 left hook No way a prime Gatti beats Cotto. Gatti was never an A level or elite fighter. He was good but whenever he stepped up in level of competition he was totally dominated. He isn't even at the level of Corely who gave very account of himself when he faced elite fighters.
