gotta respect him for picking it up so quickly,he all of a sudden just came out speaking english i didnt know he could speak any english atall untill the jose on fire aguirre interview,i mean his english isnt THAT good but hes understandable and i like to hear what a fighter has to say from his mouth rather than a translator
It's much easier to understand a foreign language than to speak or write it. I have a lot of respect for him for having the cojones to speak english in front of thousands of fans. Trinidad barely speaks spanish.
yeah good shit from Cotto, after the fight he was like "No, Im gonna speak, ill try" Props to him for actually trying to speak english rather than these others that solely rely on translators. He was good too, i was shocked when he said "capitalize" LOL. This makes me likehim even more. He seemed very calm and intelligent for his young age also.
I, for one, am still continuously impressed by Migel Cotto both inside and outside of the ring. He never ceases to amaze me and I have no problem admitting I'm a big fan of his. Much respect to Miguel Cotto.
That's good shit for my boy...
but..
When he said the word capitalized....he probably knew how to speak it haha...i dont know...
good to see that he learned..
doesnt make a difference to me tho...
He could probably speak it all along, he just didnt want to embarrass himself by saying the wrong thing. I read this about Yao Ming and why he used a translater eventhough he was good in English.

Here you go: Smart business move for Cotto, although he doesn't need english; Money talks all day, and that's all Cotto needs to speak.

I give a shit! Much respect for Cotto.
He will make ALOT more money being able to speak directly to the American public in English.
