Wlad certainly shouldn't do a rematch with Haye, it wouldn't make sense anymore. Wlad dominated Haye, he didn't destroyed him, but did enough for me to say that he's clearly superior than Haye. Also I don't want to see Haye against Wlad anymore because the guy did trash talk for 2 years and then delivered crap, he just lost his chance.
It was pretty intense. But it was apparent Wlad was dominant throughout the fight. Wlad made Haye earn his money in that one.
Yeah, Wlad dominated the fight, but couldn't rule out Haye, he had enough power to put Wlad in trouble.
About people that were expecting Mike Tyson or something like that, that's just not logical. Wlad was going to fight the same way he always fights, and Haye was going to look to lure Wlad into his trap to land a hard counter. Wlad was smarter in this fight, his gameplan was better, but Haye did what he could, he knew that if he tried to exchange punches with Wlad he would be KOd...
Martinez likes to throw from his hips. Even when he fires in a normal way his one shot punches arent as fast as people make them out to be. I mean especially when Paul Williams was matching his handspeed constantly.
Martinez puts his hands together well in combos but for someone to say hes just as fast as Mayweather is funny.
All that I meant is that because Martinez throws his punches from his waist, he gets different angles that other boxers are not used to, so it's harder for them to see the punches coming. He may not be faster, but he's still fast and with the angles he uses it's even harder for some guys to see the punches coming, sometimes even harder than when fighting against a faster guy but with a traditional stance.
IMO he has a chance against Bute only because Bute is used to fight bum after bum, not because Pavlik is a great boxer. I think he would lose against Ward, Froch, Kessler, Johnson. I would not even mention Dirrell because the guy is not fighting, even though he has his comeback in August, but until I see him in the ring he's not an active fighter.
About other SMW he could do it, but IMO he doesn't has what's necessary to be the best in the division.
As a boxer, Wlad is better. He's more skilled, has an incredible jab and a great defence, and he also knows really well how to walk the ring.
As a fighter, Vitali is better. He's more aggressive, he has an iron chin, and throws a lot more punches in a fight than Wlad. He has almost no defence, the guy fights with his hands low, but nobody in past times has been able to get to him because of his punching power.
He should try to outbox Salido, use the jab all the time, the 1-1-2 combination, and the 1-2 combination also. Try to stay away from Salido's power punches. Move his head and try to keep his damn hands up. Do not exchange punches with Salido, just hard fast combinations and get out of his range.
If the fight was today I would say Salido by KO again.
He won't be ready to fight Wlad in at least a couple of years. He has faced terrible opposition, right now it wouldn't even make sense to say that he could do anything against Wlad or Vitali.
Where's Juan Manuel Marquez? WFT
Best Boxer Today? Juan Manuel Marquez, the guy is a great boxer who is one of the best counter punchers I've ever seen, he's willing to face the best and is surely a future HOF
Best Natural Talent?: Abner Mares, the guy is underrated by some people but he has great talent, a huge heart and with his short career he has already become one of the best of the world. In fact he should already have a championship but they gave him a draw against Perez in a fight he won. It doesn't matter, he'll get it later this year.
Biggest Mexican Fraud?: Chavez Jr, The guy has faced terrible opposition, and in the first fight he gets against a "good" rival, he wins with a controversial decision. The guy is training with Freddy Roach, but he has one of the worst defenses I've seen.
Most Exciting?: Jorge 'Travieso' Arce. This guy is always fun to watch, he's a pure brawler who's willing to fight the best and is very happy by exchanging punches with the rival. He has a great chin and never gives up.
Honorable mention: Giovani Segura, also a pure brawler with a similar style to Travieso Arce, but also extremely fun to watch.
Biggest Heart?:Juan Manuel Marquez and Antonio Margarito. The first one is the clear example of a guy who doesn't care what's happening in the fight, he always fights at his best and we've seen it before, when he gets knocked down he always get up and fights even better than he was doing before. The second one is a guy who receives a lot of punches because of his style, but he loves the sport, he always wants to win and he's also willing to fight the best, something that boxing lacks these days.
Now with the poll, as there's no JMM, I chose other.
Better than Haye? Yeah, at least I can say that Arreola wouldn't be afraid to exchange punches with Wlad. He also has a great chin, you just have to see his fight with Vitali to realize that he was punched really hard by Vitali but stood up pretty well. The guy would give Wlad a hard time, that's for sure.
But it's also important to say that while he could have a better chance to beat Wlad, it would also be more likely that he could be KOd by Wlad.
nothing they can do really maybe they need a SUPER HEAVYWEIGHT DIVISION
200-220 Heavyweight then 220 and up is SUPER HEAVYWEIGHT:?!: Just a Thought!
That way we wouldn't have to hear people b!tch and complain about how "BIG VITALI AND WLAD ARE"
The thing is that it wouldn't even be a heavyweight division, it would be more of a super cruserweight division, and then the heavyweight division...
I liked the fight, of course I like Wlad so a lot of guys will say that's the only reason why I liked it, but the fact is that it was a very tense fight, you couldn't tell if something was going to happen next, and because both guys had KO power you could say that at any moment with just one shot any guy could be KOd.
I agree but not with Arreola I think Haye walks away with decision with that one
Hard to tell, Arreola's talent is underrated, he was just plan FAT! But it seems like the guy has changed so let's see how he behaves in the ring now that he's lighter.

I like the fact he ended this gem of a post with "people lie, numbers don't" line. I found that hilarious.
And, then he kept going...

Looool I couldn't stop laughing some minutes ago ... Terrible Fail.
Fight of the Year - Berto vs. Ortiz
Panchito Arce vs Cuatito Ruiz was also very good, but most people didn't see this fight
Fighter of the Year - Bernard Hopkins
KO of the Year - Afolabi vs Dunstan
2:40
Montiel wasn't KOd by Donaire's punch ... he got up, but yeah great punch anyway
Upset of the Year - Kirland vs. Ishida
1- Sturm : Sergio by KO, I don't know if in the mid or late rounds. If Sturm fights the way he did against Macklin, he'll be KOd in mid rounds. Against Macklin he had a chance to recover in the last rounds, Sergio wouldn't allow him to do it.
2- Kirkland: Sergio by Brutal early KO. After what we've seen from Kirkland against Ishida I wouldn't give him a chance at all.
3- Winky : Hard to tell, if it was prime Winky it could be a hard fight, but Winky out of reitrement will be a wide UD.
4-Pirog : I think Sergio by UD. Pirog was very good against Jacobs, but then he was mediocre against his next opponent.
5- Cotto : At MW he will beat the crap out of Cotto. I like Cotto, he's a good fighter, but he's just too small for MW. At 154 Cotto could get a chance, but I will go with late TKO by Martinez.
6- Abraham if he's about 90% of what he was : Sergio by wide UD, he could have some problems if Abraham changed his style to be more offensive, but if he fights like in the past bouts he would be UD in a similar way he was against Froch.
7-Taylor if he's about 80% of what he was : Right now? Hard KO by Martinez. A few years ago he could make a fight in the first 8 or 9 rounds, but with his stamina issues he would most likely be KOd in the last rounds.
8-Williams : KO by Martinez, again. Williams just doesn't know how to use his height and his long arms to his advantage. If Williams lets Martinez to get into his guard, he'll be KOd again.
9-Pac at 154 : Right now I think Martinez would beat Pacquiao at 154. Martinez is really fast and is a very slick boxer, when was the last time Pac fought against a slick boxer? At 154 Martinez has just too much punching power for Pac. I couldn't count Pac out because of his speed and punching power, but I think right now it would be a late stoppage against Pac.
10-Floyd at 154 : Really hard to tell, maybe 50-50 right now. It depends a lot on how Floyd looks against Ortiz. It seems like Floyd is getting older and has lost some speed, but we'll have to see. For the moment I would say that it would be a 50-50 fight.
The bolded is nowhere near true. Martinez isnt faster than Floyd, Pac, Khan, judah or even Berto. Hes just not.
The main difference between for example Pac's hand speed and Martinez hand speed is the way they throw the punches. Pac has a more traditional stance and guard, while Martinez fights with his hands down and throw punches from a lot of different angles.
Adamek by KO? I don't see it.
I think that he only guys who could beat Haye would be Vitali by KO, Adamek by decision and maybe Arreola by KO. Other than those guys, I think Haye beats everyone else.
I agree but that depends on when he stopped and started using. Or if he was using at all.
IMO he was not using steroids, and about when he stopped and started it doesn't matter, if he tested positive for nandrolone in his first urine test, he should have tested positive again in the blood test a few days after. As I've said, the breakdown products of this drugs stay in the body for a long long time, and modern laboratories instruments are very sensitive and can detect extremely low amounts of this substance .
Andro as in androstendione? Anyway, while the breakdown elements are usually tested for...if you didn't use, what's to break down?
Nandrolone has a detection time of 1 year+, sometimes it can be detected even a year and a half after using it. Now, as BrooklynBomber said, laboratories do not actually test for the substance itself, but they rather test for the breakdown products.
Martinez would completely destroy Chavez Jr in less than 8 rounds ... there are sometimes where you can hope for a miracle, but in this case I just don't see it happening.
I know they test the breakdown product. How does this contradict anything?
Immediately had a follow-up test means...immediately after he found out the first one was positive. Which means...well after the fact. Of course he was going to test negative the second time.
Contradict? I'm only explaining how does this drug testing works. Now you said that of course he was going to test negative the second time, but unless the second time he took the test was more than a year later after the fight he was going to test positive again if he was on nandrolone.
Not a chance ... Haye was crap against Wlad, but most of his opponents are. Still, Haye is a decent HW and is still a lot better than Chisora, who hasn't done anything to prove that he's ready to challenge for the title.
