From an interview he did HERE late last year,
I just feel like, those guys, once they fight somebody that is height level with them, it will be a different fight, because they're so used to fighting smaller guys, you know, they got long arms themselves so they can keep people at bay, look at the Lewis fight? those guys were the same height and it was a brawl, someone like myself i'm 6'7, i'm up with them so, you know, if you're not used to seeing something (a tall opponant) it's gonna be difficult, there isn't too many heavyweights that's tall so that's where i come in, that's why it's (a fight with them) gonna be special and it's gonna be really something because i'm much taller, i roll with it, i won't back down, i'm calm and it's gonna be a trade for a trade.
After Saturday i was left wondering who on earth could give the klitschko brothers a contest and it has to be said that when it comes to the physical side of things Deontay is perfectly suited to give them problems, he's taller and has bigger reach than BOTH of them, he can move around the ring plus his right hand is destructive, his jab isn't bad either,
Obviously there's some things he still needs to work on but how many more fights does he need before he gets a shot? Chisora only had 15 fights on his record before he signed up to fight Wlad and yet Wilder is already on 17 and counting, granted the majority have been bums but i'm hoping in the next ninth months or so he'll have stepped up and improved enough to get a title shot,
As long as the Klitschko's have the height and reach advantages i can't see them losing another fight for a while.
People need to stop acting like height and reach is no kind of advantage. If you use your height like the Klitschko's, of course it's an advantage. And when they face a top fighter their height, that advantage gets threatened. Does it mean Wilder would beat them because of height? No, but he can give them problems. Height is only an advantage for the Klitschko's because they actually use it to their advantage.
Some one like Paul Williams, or Diego Corrales, or Antonio Margarito, who were/are relatively tall for their weight divisions, didn't have that height advantage because they didn't use their height even though they were taller than almost every one they fought. They fought like smaller men.
i see that you have never actually watched them fight. Both had very good handspeed and 32-33 would have been their primes.
I asked you to name an opponant who had three things
1. YOUTH
2. HAND SPEED
3. MOVEMENT
It doesn't matter whether you think they were in their "primes" or not THEY DID NOT HAVE THE THREE THINGS I ASKED FOR!! .
tall guys if they dont use there height to their advantage are easy to knock out
Lennox set the bar on how to box with a height advantage, the Kilts use similar tactics, especially Wlad
Its all about the jab, and not letting ur opponent get on the inside and a lot of clinching. It can be boring to watch if it goes 12 rounds.
Alot of these big guys such as Audely never mastered the jab, thus is why they always get knocked out
If you throw in two tall guys together it will end up being brawl, which is true, tall guy fights tend not to go the distance, it all depends on who has the most power, and stronger chin.
FAIL, Mcline was 32 when he fought Wlad which is not exactly young and he did NOT have movement or speed for that matter,
Also Jefferson was 33 years old and is another who wasn't a massive mover either and never had much speed, so i'm afraid you're gonna have to look again!! .

Julius long is 7'0 with a amateur boxing back ground and couldn't even make it through 1 round with samuel peter and solis.
Tony Thompson is 6'5 with 100x the natural talent than this guy and still couldnt do ANYTHING to a K bro.
Funny nobody talked about lennox Lewis' huge height advantage he had on nearly every opponent, but now that a white guy is on top its " his natural size ", not talent. Lmao
What has this discussion got to do with race? :smashfrea
Furthermore wasn't Thompson 36 YEARS OLD when he fought Wlad? oops i guess him being over the hill doesn't quite suit your argument does it?
lol Mccline and Jefferson and they were better than Wilder will ever be.

Did any of them have this things?
1. youth
2. movement
3. hand speed
if so please name said boxer.
lol Mccline and Jefferson and they were better than Wilder will ever be.
All these guys Volodymyr fought were between 6'5 - 6'7 and most a whole lot more skilled than Wilder will ever be.
Thompson
Austin
Moli
Mccline
Jefferson
Bostice
Monroe

It's not only about Deontay's height though because the kid also has FAST hands and MOVEMENT to go along with his height and reach advantages over the klitschko's, a combination they have yet to face,
I know the kid needs more experience and he hasn't faced anyone decent yet but looking at Jermain Taylor's record before he fought Hopkin's he never really beat anyone great himself, and only had 23 fights on his record too.
like everyone else pointed out by the time wilder is ready to fight for a title they will both be retired. with the crop of young HWs coming up it looks like the next era will be even worse than this one so wilder should focus on filling the void of the k bros instead of fighting them.
not like he dissed the Klitschko Brothers
but no questions their height and size HELPS, especially since both of them know how to use their size to their advantage
but Wilder needs to focus on HIS CAREER, he has some natural ability but he has a LONG WAY TO GO before he is ready for the Klitschko's, it is really no guaranteed that he will even make to that level, we don't know anything about this dude, we don't know if he has a chin and can take a punch, we don't know if he has defense or anything because usually his opponents are out of shape guys who was hired to come get KNOCKED OUT
This is the problem. Everyone assumes it is the height that makes the Klitschkos so good. It is HOW the Klitschkos use their size that makes them so good. Same way Lewis knew exactly how to use his size.
Just being big means nothing.
He won't be ready to fight Wlad in at least a couple of years. He has faced terrible opposition, right now it wouldn't even make sense to say that he could do anything against Wlad or Vitali.
He looks liek a Bballer. He' stall and skinny. He doesn't have the weight, it's that simple. Being that tall means nothing if you barely way more than Haye/Chambers.
