Rico slightly ahead . Realistically rico should have been allowed to continue ( ref didnt hear the bell, no fix ) what I would say is there is a case to be made for deducting a point after the gum shield mess. So the cards would have been super close going into round 12
Think usyk stops him in the last round but we will never know
No, not as long as its a rematch for no belts and usyk vacates. These guys fight twice a year at best. For usyk to go another year without defending against mandatorys is unacceptable. Rico did well but didnt earn his shot in the first place
Fury comes out with nonsense like this all the time on a rivals fight week. He will come up some nonsense on the week of Aj's fight too.
Anything to take attention away from the event
Rico cleared former Soviet countries in kickboxing for many years, beats Hrgovic handily in a shootout as Hrgo folded against Dubois last time, Rico got on top of all those type of fights, difference in mental game. Mairis Breidis was brought up as a kickboxer that later turned to boxing and it was Usyk's toughest fight, Klitschko's were kickboxers as well alongside their boxing. Kickboxers train on sustained power endurance as there is a maximum of 5 rounds of explosive action and there is no running, the particular type of game Breidis and Klitschko's were also good at.
I get the comparison but all those guys committed to the sport way younger in life and spent many years boxing before fighting the world number 1. Rico is 37
I think usyk will fight twice this year then retire, it's not just the fights it's the intense training camps. He also had 350 amateur fights. He could possibly do 2 more next year but it's a risk
Im a fan so hope he gets out before he gets old over night.
What are your thoughts on pro wrestling?
Loved it as a kid ( long time ago), don't watch it anymore tho. Dont have any hate for it, it's just entertainment. Just grew out of it.
I think crawford is great but you have to put some stock into the weight disadvantage usyk has against these guys and more importantly his work in the away corner for so many of his title fights.
I don't like this fight at all. Would have sooner seen canelo vs benevidez and bud unify at 154.
That being said, crawford will definitely take a fair few rounds off him
Aj, as much as I used to like frank I always felt like he was just another belt holder. Aj was the main man for a spell. He was a top 3 guy in the division for many years also
