Ortiz needs to fight a few people, the guys been inactive for ages
At least Khans been fighting and training
Ortiz has been busy with dancing with the stars
I dont think Ortiz is yet ready for any big challenges
khans hardly been active hes fought 3 times in 2 years
For the same posters who keep repeating there troll comments in every mayweather thread give it a break,we all knowthe khan fight is poor but im only posing alternatives
triple GGG at 154 or 160, past PAC at 147, Martinez at 154 or 160? those are alternatives
i agree with the martinez fight that should happen, manny fight cannot be made so pointless even talking about it and realistically why fight GGG when middleweights wont fight him,hes simply to big for mayweather
taking risk and doing the seemingly impossible is what TRUE ATG do.
Why cant floyd do that for once, and start rebuilding his legacy?
I dont believe the business of boxing is that simple and no other fighter ever would take such a crazy risk so how can ya really expect floyd at 37 years of age and 147 lbs to go fight a fully fledged wreckin ball at middleweight with relatively a small name
This not doin business with arum is ruining the fights that should be made (bradley, pac) they are by a distance the best oppenents that should be made where no one can complain and also in floyds weight class...............
Like to thank everybody for the feedback especially Luiln and Rockin for how much detail they went into, i'm based in Dublin, Ireland at the minute i'm looking to migrate just a matter of putting some more money away and deciding on a location, I had a fairly hectic festive period and haven't been online much so sorry for the delay and thanks again will work on the above
irish vest in your first fight noice
Tommy Hearns comes to mind.
But The greatest of all time Glass chin warrior has to be Manny Pacman Pacquiao.
Pacman also crushes the myth that having a thick skull, square jaw and big head makes you take a punch better. he has a big head and square wide jaw but has a glass chin.

How does manny have a glass jaw?i seem to remember him droping his hands to leave Cotto hit him flush shots without a flinch
i want this clown in the best possible shape when wilder knocks his pikey teeth out of his mouth and down his throat.
The height of racism to refer to him as a pikey,no need for that
both guys are improving, but lets be real. chisora was in horribe shape for their first fight. his whole game depends on his ability to apply consistent pressure for 12 rounds the way he did to helenius and vitali.
now he is in shape to go hard for 12 rounds, his speed, skill level and boxing intelligence is still rather unimpressive. but the same thing applies to fury. fury relies on his ability to hurt people, he isnt much of a boxer. if he cant hurt chisora i think he will have a hard time keeping him off him. he will still win as he is the more well rounded and technical of the two but it wont be easy.
I agree with you it certainly was not the best del boy the 1st time but i actually think fury has some very sound boxing skills until he decides to switch off
tyson fury has bread new life into the HW scene although he has his flaws hes consistently improving and at 25 still a baby in HW terms.....honestly dont think chisora stands a chance
If, after 12 brutal rounds ,after making M. Pacquiao miss, and hitting him with clean blows while circling around him until total exhaustion, floyd finds the heart to fight back in the 12'th(Remember sugar ray?) i'd say it doesnt event matter if he loses or not in a potential match,he is an ATG . Here is the catch: what if, just suppose, he cruises for 12 rounds (In the manner of Roy Jones in his 3'rd fight with tarver) ,scared, and in DEFCON 1 , while getting hit with hard shots. What if he loses by UD(himself, he wouldn't even admit he lost)? Where does it take him,? What if the judges wouldve given the fight to DeLaHoya(it was a split decision) he would have no 0, but would still be a very talented fighter. Its his marketing catch, as he claims to be invincible.
What do you even mean by "if the judges had given it to de la hoya" did you actually watch that fight?you know the one where floyd clearly wins 8 ROUNDS....
I can't believe how underrated this guy is but he's going to make a fan out of a lot of people.
I can't stand most British boxers but let me tell you this guys very talented.
I've followed this guy from day 1 and know a damn well good fighter when I see one, I don't jump on hypetrains like the rest do.
He's a spiteful puncher (not the most heavy handed in the world) that uses his height & reach well, very fast hands, lovely jab, timing & footwork.
This is a classic case of 1 fighter being hugely overrated & the other underrated.
You all said Macklin had no chance against Sturm & how wrong was you? Macklins no Darren Barker.
Lets be fair here Barker is an underdog for good reason but Sergio is very beatable & overrated in a lot of area's (punch power, timing & footwork)
Because of his great lateral movement & showboating, ONE perfectly timed corkscrew left against a guy who didn't see it coming - people think this guys better than he actually is. You need to remember - This guys struggled against a fair few Euro-bums as you call them.
The bookies are taking notice as well from a 10-1 underdog to a 6-1 now with weeks to go.
He stands in front of Barker, impersonating a drunken monkey, mark my words Barkers going to slap the **** out of him & be gone before he throws that predictable corkscrew left.
Win-lose-draw, I promise you Barkers going to surprise a lot of people. (This guys made a career of sparring, fighting & whipping southpaws)
Love how they give the robotic stiff Dzinziruk a chance but not Barker when reality is Barkers better in every department.
He has the height & reach, youth (Sergio's not getting any younger & once those reflexes even start to go ;)), timing, accuracy & I'd even go as far as saying he is as fast if not quicker than Sergio (remember I was a guy who said Wlad was probably as fast as Haye & the world laughed, I wasn't exactly wrong)
I said Arce will not just beat Wilfredo Vazquez Jr but likely K.O him late, the world laughed. They said Arce was done & this kid was going to KHTFO!
This is Barkers big chance, he's not like most of these bums that are there for a payday, he'll go to win & prove the world wrong because thats the type of fighter he is. Don't count this guy out, he's no scrub.
WAR BARKERRRRRR! :boxing:
your insane if you think barker stands a chance,he's as fether-fisted as they come...Sergio is startin to worry me fighting opposition this poor at this stage of his career
The only cautionary note I would sound, from a non-Floyd fan, is that the pad work with Uncle Roger is beautiful choreography and nobody does that better. But it is like a dance routine that two partners have performed a 1,000 times. Uncle Roger knows his movements and does his best to make his nephew look great.
In a real fight the opponent is attacking and not holding mitts and respecting Floyd. Not moving in a well-rehearsed way. In the real fights, Floyd throws one or two or at the most three punches before returning to defense. His punches are not as free-flowing as pad work.
I don't question if Floyd still has good reflexes or boxing skills. I wonder whether after the fight gets into middle rounds and it becomes rough and Floyd isn't doing all the punching, but also doing some of the taking, will he show signs of slippage and age then?
Im pretty sure the guy does normal pads behind close doors, since day 1 wot he shows us in the training videos is some showing off not he's real training just snipetts....Like the way they claim he dose'nt scout opponents i dont believe for a second.still though the greatest fighter in the world imo
Burns seems like a nice fella but this is the clearest duck ive ever seen,at least have the decency to not let on you were actually goin to fight broner in the first place.....This really got under my skin i genuinely hope kats breaks him in 2
Victor may have lost but he was able to leave the fight with his head up because of the nature in which Floyd beat him.
I'd rather him lose that way than have Floyd beat all the fight out of him.
Beatings like such lead to depression, suicidal thoughts and cross-dressing.
Ortiz left with his career and pride still intact evident by the huge smile he had after the fight.
Believe me it could have been worse because though he may have been winning the 4th round, the overall tide of the fight was turning in Mayweather's favor.
Be that it may, Victor Ortiz still,in my opinion, has a bright career ahead of him.
Yea i agree he's still so young aswell and now his name is out there, hope he has a good win next fight
Wow some people really view the past with rose tinted glasses...Look the man is so good that people cling on to every tiny slip up in his 42 fight career eg(mosely's punch)What would happen if we ran over every duran fight with a toothcomb.....Id be the first to admit that a certain spots he's dodged a fighter ie marg but lets be honest the man is one of the best ever to lace em up....Im not sayin these fighters won't beat him but they certainly wont run over him undoubtedly
That "weird" style is called being technically very sound yeah sergio prob ko's him but if barker can frustrate him andy is whole better boxer and would cause martinez problems imo
Why did Egan not turn-over?
Seemed a bit silly to me. He could have had a quick burst career and be in and out within a couple of years even if he didn't really get much above commonwealth/european level.
Especially as amateurs basically train like pros these days now anyway. So I doubt he had an awesome job on the side allowing him to coin it in.
its a strange one but all our senior boxers who hav won medals at major tournaments are on about 60 grand a year in grants...IMO ray moylette will go the furthest as a pro the man is gifted
It would be more amusing to see these guys so head to head in some kind of standardized intelligence test.
Hahaha 2 dumb ****s,but yeah it's a great fight could go either way I slightly favour khan
I've heard of fighters who don't like watching tape cos they might prepare for a certain style and then there opponent might change it up but with floyd I reckon him and roger always watch tape. It wil be interesting to see when he's retired some of the real truths behind him as a fighter
If not Robinson then who?
its such a difficult decision to determine that my point is though so many fans seem to award srr without holding him to the same nitty gritty standards they do for fighters in the relatively modern era....personally i think srl is in the running and when floyd finally retires we ll see how his career looks............look maybe robinson is the man but id like him to be evaluated in the same way fighters today are!also this argument of fighting a million times as against 3 or 4 times ayear means ur a better fighter is a very flawed argument
How about those that exaggerate the talents of athletes from the present?
Poet
Yeah people are quick to hype an athletes talent now but most people can see that it's not true but when its an athlete from the past its taken as gospel and your almost frowned upon for saying otherwise....for instance a lot of fight fans won't accept the possibility that maybe ray Robinson is not the goat
Your very naive or maybe bitter if you think vitali is not a top level fighter I'm not sayin he wrecks all the atg but I reckon he beats the smaller men Marciano,Dempsey,Louis ........nothing worse when people in any sport exaggerate talents of athletes from the past
From what I've seen through the years he nurtures that style in the wincobank gym obviously kell brook is a bit different but he trained naz since he was a kid like that......what do you want to know about it exactly?
