From todays Friday chat with him was this question and answer:
Chase (Dallas, Tx)
Hey Dan,Do you think I'm crazy saying that Vitali Klitschko wrecks almost all heavyweights in history at his best? People think I'm insane when I say he would be competitive or beat most ATG's like Joe Louis, Ali, Foreman and Holmes. To make a still very, very good Lennox Lewis almost look one dimensional on short notice solidifies my position on this. I just want to know how you feel about it so I know If I'm fooling myself or not. Thanks.
D$ (2:04 PM)
I agree with you.
D$ is Dan.
Go to the link above and search for "Chase". It is a long page but search for the word "Chase" and that will take you directly to this specific Q&A. It is 2/3's down the page. I took a print screen if you don't want to search for it:

Anyway I do not agree with Dan whatsoever, I think Wladimir would lose to a lot of the greats. I was wondering why Dan was praising Wladimir in his P4P rankings.
Yeah and that's all good, but the poster I was replying to indicated that Robinson was behind modern fighters and by looking at his avatar, I had a feeling where we where headed.
I feel ya. Just throwing in my two cents.
1. Sam Langford
2. Harry Greb
3. Ray Robinson
Just my opinion of course.

its such a difficult decision to determine that my point is though so many fans seem to award srr without holding him to the same nitty gritty standards they do for fighters in the relatively modern era....personally i think srl is in the running and when floyd finally retires we ll see how his career looks............look maybe robinson is the man but id like him to be evaluated in the same way fighters today are!also this argument of fighting a million times as against 3 or 4 times ayear means ur a better fighter is a very flawed argument
But fighting that many fights against the best opposition and winning ensures that your resume stands out. And that is what counts. Not how fantasyfights pans out. Resumees. Floyd couldn't carry Robinson's jockstrap.
If not Robinson then who?

he stands a decent chance against most to be honest. hard to beat vitali.
Purely on modern conditioning he'd be competitive but I'm sure the fighters in the 90s were roided to the hilt.
Out of 217 posts you wrote, 216 are about klitschkos.. LOL! most of them are replies to you, but that dont mean i love you, dont get your hopes up.
the clue is in the word 'replies'. I gotta answer you.
It would be easier to see that Sugsr Ray was and is the best fighter to date if you knew how to evaluate talent to begin with. Since everyone here clearly doesn't know when a fighter is giving away his punches why bother to try to explain all the tangables! Comparing a record and common oppents is all everyone here has because they don't know form and technique!
With newer generations its impossible for them to see beyond their immediate eyes. To look deeper you need knowledge of the subject there on to its own is the problem! To think that a Klitz Bros is an ATG pro boxer is unbelievable to me yet thats whats preached by more than enough on this board. Methods, Form & Technique is how to break down a fighter, if you have NO clue about these three functions then you have no clue about a fighters particular talents! Its as simple as that!!:argue: dumb azz!! Ray.
Yeah people are quick to hype an athletes talent now but most people can see that it's not true but when its an athlete from the past its taken as gospel and your almost frowned upon for saying otherwise....for instance a lot of fight fans won't accept the possibility that maybe ray Robinson is not the goat
If not Robinson then who?
How about those that exaggerate the talents of athletes from the present?

People forget the klitschkos have fought the best available opponents, after Lewis vitali destroyed kirk Johnson, he wernt much of a fighter but he was lewis' original opponent for the night he fought vitlali and he was viewed as a decent defence, then Lewis retired so vitali was made the top guy in the division. He then fought the number 2 in the division corrie sanders who had just destroyed wlad. Then he fought Danny Williams who had just stopped Tyson only one fight removed from fighting Lewis in what is seen as a big win for Lennox. After his hiatus he returned and dismantled Sam Peter who was viewed as one of the top guys after destroying maskaev. After that he's fought anyone who his brother hasn't, he had a fight scheduled with haye just for him to pull out, he publicly called out valuev only for him to retire, he offered haye a fight in Moscow for him to refuse on the grounds of his race, if vitali is only gonna have one more fight I don't blame him for wanting to go out on his own terms and not want to concede anything to a broken toed pu$$y like haye. He should fight him in England ? Why ? So haye can pull either another stinker and not trade, or try and pot shot and run like he did against valuev and hope for some help from the judges
He's had all time accomplishments being a three time world champion, holding the second highest KO ratio of all hw champs, has never lost a decision, and in both defeats he was ahead on the scorecards when being stopped.
Together with his brother, he's written hw history, the brothers holding all belts simultaneously, with dominance and longevity.
He's a legend.
Comparing present day fighters with past day fighters will always be a guessing game, regardless of 'historical' achievements.
He's a 3 time titlist, not champion. Big difference. His career is very forgettable. If he's a legend I guess that would have made Brian Nielson the greatest of all time had he retired a 48-0 since he was the world champion and had a better resume than Vits. Sounds ridiculous, right? Well that's what it sounds like when you guys overrated Vittles career.
His resume is crap. He's never beat the top fighter at heavyweight and only defended the title once as true champion against Danny Williams. All time greatness is based on all time accomplishments. Head to head can be used to an extent, but its basically a guessing game with not solid foundation.

The only version of ALI that the Klitzscho Bros has a chance of beating is the post 1975 version. They definitely wouldn't beat ALI in his "TRUE" prime in the mid 1960's, leading up to the his 3 year ban.
Who's he the "head nut jobber" here???? Imagine either Bros getting nailed with a Larry Holmes jab and right hand!! Its so ridiculous to think that these two big, stiff, novices could stand in with any well seasoned top pro!
You have to be a "true fan" to think they could be competitive against top level greats!! You know.........."Fanatic" HA!! :nutkick: Nuts Ray.
