I just finished watching this fight for the second time but it's the first time I scored it round by round. I am not a big fan of either guy, so I scored it objectively and I finished with a 117-110 card for Matthysse. Usually, my scorecards are close to the official ones but not this time. I know the fight had many close rounds but I favored Matthysse's activity during the middle rounds and then Matthysse swept the championship ones.
Did anyone else have a wide scorecard?
Lucas' plan was to go to the body and that cost him the fight. He realized that going to the body wasn't working so he decided to go upstairs more and that was working but by than it was to late. He gave away to many early rounds and that's why he lost. If you gave Lucas the win by a wide margin I'm curious to know what rounds you gave Lucas.
The only rounds I could give Judah, without a doubt, were the first two and round 5. Every other round, aside from the championship ones which were all Matthysse, seemed too close to call and you had to choose between Judah's flashy, yet ineffective jabs, and Lucas' workrate. I preferred the workrate more often than not. That's why I have a wide scorecard even though most rounds were razor thin.

Many did a RBR breakdown here

Most had Lucas winning by a comfortable margin, others seemingly gave Judah all the closer rounds for the hell of it.

Then no your not agreeing! 114-112? Ye maybe in Lucas's dreams. Lucas won 3 maybe 4 rounds of that fight at the most.
Maybe you are not aware that my card was 7 to 5, which is not too far from the 8 to 4 you just mentioned. The fight was 7 to 5 García, minus a point taken off in the 12th from García and the point Matthysse lost in round 11 for the knockdown.
That's 115-113 minus one point each = 114-112.

Are you serious? It was one of the most unanimous scores all around boxing that I have seen in any fight. Almost everyone had it 7-5 Garcia. It's wasn't the blowout people like to make it out to be, and Matthysse isn't all of a sudden a bum.
I had it wide like you did also. People gave far too much credit Too Judahs jab early. Especially counting jabs that didn't land.
I tried to be as conservative as possible, and subjective as I'm a Matthysse fan, but there were never enough rounds I could give to Judah that would make me feel he earned a win.
I thought zab got most of the early rounds and won a very close decision 114-113
But i have no problem with people thinking lucas won,, alot of close rounds that could have gone either way..
Revisionist historians will now rewatch it and give every single close round to lucas because he is the hyped fighter now, but at the time, if scoring objectively, 114-113 for either guy or 115-112 lucas are acceptable,, anything wider i would consider a bad scorecard
Garcia? What so Garcia knocking him through the ropes didn't convince you? haha get over it, he's NO destroyer. He didn't even look as good as Shawn Porter against Devon.
I agree here because García won a close fight against Lucas. I had that 114-112.

Matthysse been at the wrong end of some decisions..
Alexander (horrible) Judah (bad) Garcia (questionable)
Their all on borrowed time.
Think I gave Zab 3-4 rounds
this along with the Devon fight were what convinced me Lucas will lose to a good boxer. Both matches largely influenced my prediction of Garcia beating Lucas
I had Matthysse beating Alexander 96-93.
