Yup, keep your hands up.
Throw combos, not just one at a time. (well, that also depends if whoever is catching can "catch" combos) or just double up the jab.
And..Try to be aware of the circle dance. You move to your left after every throw, try to punch, and move or just pivot to the right also.
Nice pop though. Keep it up.
my 2 cents.
Floyd was set on fighting Pac when he took Pac's toughest rival as a tune up, he offered Pac 50/50 and a 14 day OST cut off and those *****es still ran! The fight with JMM even moreso than Mosley Is why they want none of floyd.
There has got to be some psychological concern In watching Floyd toy with the guy that gave you hell!
Do you ever talk about anything else?
Against a hard fast young puncher, pacquiao has no chance at all.
Gotta give my credit to roach he knows whos the real challenge.
We will final end the Pacquiao train in 2011
Berto fought tonight? Who did he fight? I must have been distracted with real fights tonight.
thats not true. there are many top ranked fighters over the years who have had amazing chins. maidana's chin is amazing. bradley has a good chin. so do guys like pac and mayweather (whove taken shots from guys much bigger and stronger than maidana). so ur assesment strikes me as false. khan was out on his feet. it wasnt one of those flash type things, he was legit hurt. having a great chin is important to sucess unless u can keep yourself from getting hit. and khan proved he couldnt.
Yes Khan was out on his feat, but that's Boxing! His conditioning pushed him through. He didn't go down. Boxers get hit, Boxers get hurt, it's what you do when you get hurt.
He showed he can take a punch, be hurt, and still have the sense to stay on his feet, and do what he did tonight...again, welcome to the world of Boxing.
Khan proved he couldn't stop from getting hit? What did MM prove, that he can get hit in the chin, but not in the gut?
Again, this is Boxing, and your logic is like an as*hole on your elbow..useless.
lol...ur obviously not understanding what happened in the fight. im saying khan's defense is not effective enough to keep him from getting hit.
yes its boxing and ppl get hurt. thats true. but khan was supposed to be great. he talked like he was ppl on here hype him like he is. he didnt look great in there tonite.
imagine, just imagine if that had been tim bradley. imagine the threads we would have seen?? its sad really. bradley got flashed by witter and ppl were talking ****.
not even a big Amir fan. Just think your logic is insanely stupid.
You really basing this on Amir calling himself great..Geez, how many fighters call themselves great?..that is laughable.
For the record, not one fighter in the history of Boxing has a defense effective enough in where they don't get hit.
really?
it means nothing without random drug testing...nice try pinoys.
You're pathetic..Go lay on your Floyd printed pillow and cry your little heart out.
Your hero is MIA. deal with it.
He's not overrated he is what most people thought he was... Not a superior boxer, not a intelligent ring general, no great foot speed, no great hand speed... he's a pressure fighter with one punch knock out power... His game plan was the best game plan for him, he wasn't gonna box with Khan that'd be stupid... He fought exactly how he needed to for his given qualities
Yup. End this nonsense.
Hate it when a fighter loses and now he's overrated or shot or useless etc. This was a good fight, fighters like MM make good fights for exactly the reason you saw tonight.
Both showed big heart.
if only it was not the 10th round or if only maidana had more energy left he wouldve taken khan out for sure.
If only there were 30 more seconds in round 1, then Maidana would have been in the showers early.
Right?
ok amir has something more than a glass chin. but lets not exxagerate. he was still on queer street the moment he entered a fight with a strong puncher. so his chin held up, but barely. he can still be put out, that much is clear. he's no maidana. that guy has a beard of diamond or some ****.
HUH?
His chin didn't barley hold up, "IT DID" hold up.
He can still be put out? What the fuc*k does that mean? Cause he was KO'd before?
JUst gotta laugh at the ignorance.
What did Maidana prove?
Are you being intentionally absurd?
Maidana figured out a very deadly opponent in Khan. He finally figured out a way to catch him and hit him. Khan can wing off quicksilver combinations and has decent power, good mobility.. Sometimes he just freezes on the ropes though and lets Maidana land arcing combos. But those body shots he threw (though he didn't throw many for some reason) are deadly
So Maidana has heart obviously.. and a fighting cunning about him. He's not as "brainless lot of heart" as people make him out to be.
I think you caught this comment in the middle of me trying to make an absurd statement to show TS how ignorant his point was.
Obvious sarcasm. An Oxymoron.
I thought that was kind of odd. They ask him a cupcake question, and then immediately rush over to Maidana.
When was the last time a champion who just defended his belt was asked only one single question?
Honestly it seemed like a time thing, (HBO) but i also think Larry was really interested in what Maidana thought.
It was odd i agree. I thought the same thing.
Just so we're clear...
More devastatingly tenacious than anything. He never stops coming forward. He could be better if he got Pac or Khan or Floyd like training. A whole lot crisper, and a whole lot stronger.
At his full potential Maidana knocks out anyone at his weight class.
U got it.
For the record, this was an awesome fight. Heart spewed on both sides for the obvious reasons.
uhh are u retarded??? even in the prescott fight he was hurt at first then put out later. if maidana wasnt tired and cortez didnt keep him back, khan could have been finished. its quite simple. his chin barely held up because he barely escaped. dont be retarded.
How many more punches did MM need to land? Maybe his power is not what you thought it to be.
..but but if Midana wasn't tired he coulda woulda shoulda..
Again, his chin didn't barley hold up, it DID hold up for the obvious reason.
retard.
If Khans chin is so terrible how come Maidana hit it several times with clean shots, and he never went down?
And Maidana didn't answer yes to rematch in post fight interview, he says he will fight whoever ... (he thinks he can KO and Khan is clearly not one of them).
Thought it was a hell of a fight. Khan tasted the canvas before, obviously been KO'd before, so him sucking it up and pushing through that 10th round was a true test and he passed with flying colors.
Cannot take jabs at his chin anymore from some of these posters. I think he shut them all up in that 10th.
awesome fight IMO.
propably. but we're talking bout khans chin here. he was hurt VERY badly and as i said if maidana had more energy or even more luck to get 1 more good shot in that wouldve been it.
We are talking about his chin. Did it hold up? Are you suggesting it was only Maidana's conditioning that hindered him, and Khan's chin and conditioning had nothing to do with it?
Get real here. One more good shot? How many did he land? Amir was dead on his feat, but didn't go down, that's Boxing son.
Hypotheticals are for the Fanboys.
I hope he fights Khan next, just wanna see someone teach Khan some manners.I know Manny has no intention of fighting Mayweather
Of course you would support a Mayweather/Khan fight.
Somehow justify why this is his best move..
please.
No dude. I'm not saying you have less water weight. Water weight is a byproduct of sucking yourself down. Water weight comes from having to rehydrate your body. Now that we've established that, we're now looking at a Pacquiao who no longer has to "dehydrate" himself. Is he fighting at the weight he walks around at? If so...what is he doing in the gym that all other lightweights aren't? Juan Manuel Marquez routinely weighs well over 140+ pounds after making weight. Diego Corrales, etc. Did you see him when he decided to fight at his walking around weight? And these guys began at weights higher than Manny. So since we know he isn't in the gym eating donuts and just "maintaining his walking around weight" like so many like to spew on here, what is he doing so different that causes him to maintain a body-building physique and his attributes within six months of fighting at 135? This is why bringing up what he weighed on fight night is highly irrelevant.
You do realize in the human body, water = about 60% of your weight.
face it--deal with it---let it go----just take a look at their last 5 opponents each---that'll tell you right there people----
floyd's last 5 oppnents were coming off tko and ko wins whereas manny's last 5 were coming off close wins, struggling wins, and losses----lol---yet, he's the greatest because of how big they were? man please---floyd dominated baldomir and won possibly every round and baldomir was the undisputed ww champ who outweighed floyd just as much as tony outweighed manny, size don't win fights, skill does---just like shane was when floyd dominated him--so in hindsight, floyd's still the last undisputed ww champ just like he was before he left the sport the 1st time tko'ing an undfeated ricky hatton---while manny is fighting left overs and guys at catchweights for their titles and vacated titles---
floyd isn't ranked the number 1 ww for no reason---they have him as the ww champ basically when he doesn't even have a title---that's greatness right there---and for you guys and gals on here to bash floyd for fighting so called smaller fighters---well, after he dominated the guy who arguably beat manny in the second fight, jmm, floyd was put back on the p4p at number 3 and then he dominated shane mosley, now floyd's number 2 and on many lists he's number 1 p4p--while manny fights the guy the official ww champ mosley ko'ed just last year----yet, manny is still better than floyd? get real---floyd's punishing manny all over the ring and you all will will have to swallow it up---as usual----
manny fights a clottey, cotto and margarito at catchweights for titles, hatton, who floyd beat when he had a 0, a weight drained de la hoya, which wasn't manny's fault, that was oscar's fault, and jmm who he arguably lost against and of course the most vicious fighter the 135 lb division has even bred into a champion in david diaz--the killer--lol---manny please--you're not fooling real experts---you can't beat floyd---you won't beat floyd--
you'll be punished just like everybody else---think what you want--but this is the truth---
Floyd needs to dry his cu*t and get to fightin'.. End of story.
...and Team Pacquiao just tell Floyd and the world they're not going to go forth with random Olympic style drug testing???
Why make the world believe you want Floyd when the reality is you don't want to see Manny lose to a 'bad' guy?
Were you pushing for OSDT before Floyd decided this was the best thing since vanilla ice cream?
My guess is that you didn't even know it existed. Now you and Yesir are experts.
Nice try, but this OSDT crap is just a 100% cop out. Where is your boy now? Where is the "cleaning up the sport crusade"
thought so.
I really believe if Manny and Roach had never met, Manny would still have become a multi division champ. (Heres why)
Manny came to Freddy raw but talented, he'd gotten that far on sheer guts, heart and incredable talent.
All you have to do with a guy like Manny is give him little bits, step back and watch him do it his way.
Don't get me wrong, I like Freddy. I think Freddy is one of if not the best trainers today. And yes, he's taken Manny further with than without him.(True)
But just looking at Manny, and how good he was raw. Imagine any good trainer getting ahold of this guy, with his sheer ability Manny would be just as if not better than he is now.
Game planning and prep are 2 different things I know, but I'm speaking on just talent alone.
All Manny needed before Roach was the simple ABCs of boxing, Roach saw this I'd bet.
So Mannys talent helps Freddy seem better than he really is.
It's easy to have a champ handed to you, but what if you're handed something not so talented?
Has Freddy ever really molded and made a champ out of any fighter?
There is a reason why Fighters have a "team" around them. Not the hanger-ons, the entourage, the leeches, but the people who serve a purpose. Name me one fighter that did it on their own?
Let's say he did this with some other trainer, would that trainer also be lucky because he has a talented fighter?
At what point do people get credit for their part in the process?
I get what you're trying to suggest, but it is really just another attempt to discredit someone's achievements.
Bunch of horse ****.
Marquez beat Pacquiao 2x already. Pacquiao can't deal with boxers so he's just gonna keep fighting come forward bangers and Arum stiffs.
The "article" is a bad joke. Diaz/JMM 2 wasn't even promoted, nor was it a fight that anyone wanted or asked for.
Pac/Margarito had a 24/7.
How much did Pac/David Diaz sell?
That's right, now stop lowballing Marquez and give him a third fight so he can knock you the **** out this time coward.
Actually no, JMM did not win twice against PAC.
next.
THANK YOU, PARTICULARLY WHY HE'S THE MOST OVER RATED ATHELETE IN ALL OF SPORTS!:lol1::lol1::lol1: it's sad.
Do yo think people can actually hear you screaming this?
1). Manny Pacquiao-currently the most over rated athelete in all of sports imo.
2). Paul Williams-this guy needs to learn how to use his height and avoid punches.
3). Lucian Bute-I like his skills, but he really lost the first Andrade fight, who has he beat Edison Miranda?
4). Celestino Caballero-looked terrible in his last fight, against a guy who had no business beating him.
5). Nonito Donaire-I really like him and his skills, but what has he done since beating Darchiniyan? I hope he gets a fight with Juan Manuel Lopez.
Honorable Mention: I really like all these guys but their relatively unproven and or inexperienced Victor Ortiz, Yuriorkis Gamboa, Devon Alexander:boxing:
You just called PAC the most overrated "ATHLETE" in all of sports?
really dude, even though you hate the guy, can you honestly call him an overrated "ATHLETE"
seriously..
Guys just look at the Timeline!
This is too much... Why cant they just tell the truth and stop with the secrets.
Seriously dude, how old are you?
Just stop with this childish bullsh*t.
Exactly so Roach gets a lot of credit for doing nothing but working with Manny and keeping him away from boxers while asking for catchweights to drain his opponents.
Do you even know anything about Boxing?
For arguments sake, lets say his trainer (other than Freddy) did infact look out for Manny in the same way Freddy does..
Ok, lets use your vision.. Put Manny with the team he has now (Insert any other trainers name here, other than Freddy Roach), now tell me if he'd be just as good.
Mannys skill is his talent, his basic boxing skills are not constantly followed. But his improv of the basics are constant.
You get what I mean?
All Manny needed was a good trainer (any good trainer) and he'd still be HOF...
This is not a discredit at all, look at it like me for a sec.
I'm not saying Freddy is'nt good, I'm saying Manny is that good. Get me?
I get it, but what you are suggesting is that why have a trainer at all?
Trainers don't just do the work at the gym. They also do homework. Watch fights, build a game plan for each fight ect.
If this is not to discredit someone, then i don't understand What it is. Other than you feel Manny doesn't need anyone and is just that good..Ok, but my point is, if it were another trainer, and he did have the same success, will he also be discredited?
Or is it because Freddy is a well known, and now famous trainer?
I just don't get why this hypothetical scenario is even necessary, if not to just discredit someone.
Trust me, i am not a Freddy super fan, but i do feel like a trainer is a huge part of a fighters success even though the fighter brings natural talent.
:lol1:
No, you were the little pactard android puppet who came into this thread, crying like a little girl cause someone said something negative about your 'Deity' Pacman.
:bottle: Don't cry bro.
First off, i never mentioned Pac in my original post, so there goes that.
You were just quick to jump on the Burner protection army. Which is weird and strange on some message board.
To be honest, i don't know who the hell Burner is, and i don't care, but if your laying next to him (i can only assume your are), I'm sure even he will tell you to stop being such a little bit*h.
Don't get in a sh*t talking contest with me rookie, you will lose every time.
