Valero didn't beat you with skill. He just went in and beat you. I honestly believe he would have been one of the greats. So much so that I think he would have surpassed Duran. To beat a guy like Valero you would literally have to hit him hard enough to damn near kill him to get his respect. Its a shame that he couldn't bottle up the crazy but we all have our demons.
Glad the fight did as well as it did. At this point the rematch should do just as good. Anyone concerned with who is the A side or the B side is just arguing to argue. Both dudes brought something to the table and the formula brought in a ton of cash.
If Canelo loses to GGG then he isn't making it to the hall of fame. Two world stage losses would make Canelo's career to appear to be padded with catch weights and fighters on the decline. In fact if Canelo can't campaign at 160 he might find himself weight locked out of 154 and then what are his options?
What hype do you guys buy into? At the elite level when was the last time you guys seen a blow out KO? The fact that a KO artist is able to go the distance and get the decision is actually a surprise. Normally the guy with the high KO ratio falls off towards the championship rounds. The fact that GGG is able to go the distance and still be competitive speaks volumes to his diversity in the ring. He still has that stiff European style but with a minimum of adjustments he'd wreck Canelo to the body.
Stamina won't improve. Either you have it or you don't at that stage of his career.
After watching a couple video's of Canelo's road work there is room for major improvements. He looks like he is going through the paces more so then he is actually pushing himself past any limits.
Probably because his stamina is poor lol. If he could do more he would.
I'm sure at this stage dude is just going through the motions. Why push the limits of your conditioning till you puke when you are already making millions running until you sweat.
I don't really understand this. Of course laws work. Most people follow them first off so there's that. Some skirt the line & may or may not get in trouble for doing so. And some people go way past the line & get sent to jail or prison as a punishment for breaking the law. Thats how laws work. Laws don't 100% stop crime by just being written. They probably 99% stop crime & that 1% gets dealt with via our legal system.
And sure if someone is willing they will find a way, but guns make finding a way sooooooo much easier & allows for people with lower IQ's to find ways to massively & widely do damage to maximum effect. Its a whole lot harder to kill 59 people & injury 500+ with a handgun, a knife or other easily accessible, easier weaponized means.
How come no word on the shooter's political affiliation?
As for Floyd's statement.... Statement for what? To send his condolences? If it doesn't have to do with his next fighter or business deal all Floyd needs to do is open his check book. Words wouldn't do him justice in this regard. As long as he keeps it low and no new pics surface with him in the club he's doing damn fine let the man be retired.
Yeah yeah that dont makes any sense, why would you take a paycut or want to role around like some homo? then you talk about in a few years cage-fighters will be coming over here? and having success? maybe against Paulie Malignagi ; Kickboxing is a pure striking sport with a much longer history than cage-fighting but you dont see those guys coming by the bunches let alone dominating.
I'm not saying everyone in MMA but there might be one that will be good enough to do both. I think its a bad argument either way as the UFC isn't trying to let their fighters out of contract to do boxing. The best that can come of this fiasco of a fight having happened is that hopefully the MMA guys will get paid better.
I urge all pugilist to please stop acknowledging this sh*t sport. Stay in your lane dont bring that trash to our fine sport. You don't see Rugby teams challenging the NFL or Cricket players issuing open challenges to the MLB.
This trend is really perpetuated by the lazy writers/journalist that have nothing better to do and of course the editors like the money these articles make for their company. Respect the sport, enough.
I wouldn't go so far as to say MMA is a ****ty sport. You got kids coming up that are leagues above the dudes from UFC 1. MMA is still evolving and the practitioners are getting better and better. Given enough time I'm sure we'll see a boxer/mma practitioner that will campaign in both sports.
Floyd didn't train any differently for the McGregor fight then he does in his everyday life. As to whether he would beat Canelo or not at this stage I would bet against it. Floyd stepping into the ring at this age and with the multiple retirements he's had is just courting disaster.
Dude made his money. Nothing wrong with him enjoying it. Not sure what the thread starter is talking about being a sell out though. Who'd he sell out? The fans? Nah I'm more then satisfied with the man and his performances. Hope he stays out and makes more money and enjoys his life.
49-1. Conor is knocking Floyd out, mark my words. SR SHOULD HAVE NEVER ALLOWED THIS TO HAPPEN!!! This will fall on Ellerbes and Haymons shoulders too. He could have rode into the sunset 49-0 but they got greedy. August 26th, CONOR we are bouncing Floyds headd off the canvas.
I'm thinking Floyd is going 160 if Canelo beats GGG. Some serious money in the making for him. Once he gets this sparring money.
You people are something else. Paulie is from Brooklyn, NY and his parents are pure Sicilian immigrants. I don't think that type of rat **** is even in his DNA. Every one thinks they see the ***** in the armor. Maybe sitting in the commentators chair gave Paulie an idea that team McGregor is willing to give a try. I don't know if Paulie is going to help or hinder McGregor because the complexities of boxing go beyond just teaching someone how to throw punches and not be hit. The saying to many cooks spoil the pot could never be closer to the truth then in McGregor's situation. Unless Floyd Mayweather went full senior citizen post retirement this should be the first time we see Floyd Maul an opponent.
Because, during May and Pac's prime Cotto was right behind both and to be honest he was never anything special. There are plenty of fighters today that would've beaten him. I would probably favor Danny over hime too
Seriously!!! ****ing Danny the gift Garcia over Cotto??? Wow you sir are seriously stretching the imagination....
Cotto is a crybaby puta. Every single time he losses he runs out of the ring crying and runs from the post fight interview. In cotto's mind he beat Mayweather, Trout and Canelo and he is the ultimate victim in boxing, all the big mean refs and big mean judges are just out to get poor little victim Cotto.
keep your dirty dreams to yourself. No one wants to be victimized by your crap. Cotto lost to the top of the food chain. He wasn't gang raped so stop with the victimized bull****. When you fight for a living its hard to deal with defeat. You would know that if you weren't just dodging penises for a living.

Excellent thread. I posted an almost exact thread last year breaking down Cotto's resume. When running a search for it later on, it was nowhere to be found. Can only imagine it had to have been deleted.
Cotto is a fine champion. Not the greatest of this era but he still fought the who is who of this generations boxers. I have a very hard time ranking Cotto over Tito but he comes close in my opinion.
Its not the size of the dog in the fight, its the size of the fight in the dog. Your boy has a loss to a dude that came in on short notice and choked his ass out. HAHAHAHAHA!!! You can't hit what you can't see. Floyd is going to swell that boys eyes up and send his liver into his heart.
If McGregor makes it to the final bell and makes it competitive then its a moral victory. However I have to agree if he gets his ears boxed off or if he gets KO'd then then you better believe the MMA fans are going to turn their back on him. Joe public loves nothing more then to point out your failures and rub it in your face. All you have to do is take a look at Rhonda Rousey to know that all it takes is one horrid loss to lose all your credibility. I've said it from the beginning that I don't see why this fight had to happen and for Floyd to get #50 in this fashion is a slap in the face to true fans of the sport. These types of events are supposed to be done for charity and the such. Not for 100's of millions and a chance to go down in history as the person to break Marciano's record.
He still has the ggg fight in 3 weeks
I'm with him full force for the GGG fight. I just hope he doesn't drink himself into a coma after McGregor gets toasted.
He's obviously a troll. I doubt he believes it deep down.
He's just having fun. He obviously has no life either because he's literally always the first to reply to every thread that mentions McGregor, so he obviously just sits refreshing the page over and over all day. So that tells you a lot about his personal life, or lack of...
Damn... I thought he was a true believer. Was getting worried we might want to send a med alert after Floyd sparks this dude in 6.
Some times there are those special people that just stand above everyone else. I believe Floyd is one of those people that other people have to take peds for to keep up. Making blank statements like that without any proof just makes you a hater.
Wow dude your stretching really hard. Unless you have concrete proof, Ali isn't the kind of legend you just go after. You do understand that Ali transcended boxing right? His morale character alone wouldn't have allowed the fixing of a boxing match if he knew about it. Unless you have evidence to support your claim you need to keep that **** tight to your chest.
Dude went to prison and gave up his prime rather then fight in a war he didn't believe in. Came back and was the undisputed champion of the world. You come on here and try to tarnish that with your opinion when you haven't even stood for yourself. GTFOH!!!
