His biggest win was against Antonio Demarco. I think Juan Manuel Marquez would have beaten him if they fight at 135, and 140. Any technical boxer would expose his weaknesses. And the man is also legitimately crazy.
Mickey Garcia sparred him and he said Valero punched much harder than Pacquio. He also beat up On Morales and Delahoya during sparring matches. I don't know if Valero had the size for 147 but I'm sure he would have cleaned up 135 to 140
I haven't seen the fight for a long time...i recall Valero having some issues with DeMarco and making some adjustments and then doing quite well. The sho team also seemed surprised by this. I think he would've had some issues with some fighters, but ultimately would've stacked up a very good resume.
He was crazy so he killed himself. If he had not gone crazy he might have continued to improve his boxing skills. He was very good and hard to beat. A sane and improved Valero would have been very hard to beat. As it was he never lost a fight and KOed almost everyone he fought. You could say this guy or that guy would have defeated him but you are just guessing.
Having seen Valero in the gym sparring , heard the comments about his Power from his sparring partners and watching his fights before he passed . I'd have to Agree with you . I heard Legit boxing people saying he'd beat Pacquiao and Marquez . Its unfortunate he went Psycho .
He didn't go psycho, he always was psycho.

I've run into one or two guys with this kinda look in their eyes. Do not fuck with them even if you're twice their size.
Valero didn't beat you with skill. He just went in and beat you. I honestly believe he would have been one of the greats. So much so that I think he would have surpassed Duran. To beat a guy like Valero you would literally have to hit him hard enough to damn near kill him to get his respect. Its a shame that he couldn't bottle up the crazy but we all have our demons.
have to disagree. that guy was a once in a generation talent. If he was still around i think you'd be looking at someone who had built up one of the greatest resumes of all time, he was that good.

Judging by how he made Oscar his ***** I would consider him the king of Mexico. JMM would probably drink Valero's piss to get better.
Pacquiao, Bradley, and Crawford would also beat him. I was a huge fan of Valero because of his style, but that won't work against good competitions. This ain't like the Salvador Sanchez situation that he also died young, but he beat some pretty good fighters before he died of a car accident.
