The fight generated $27,059,850 from 17,318 tickets sold, according to figures released Tuesday by the Nevada State Athletic Commission. There were 934 complimentary tickets given out, according to the commission.
For comparison Floyd - Alvarez did a live gate of $20,003,150 from the sale of 16,146 tickets.
Good. The fight deserved it. A very good fight between two of the best in the world. GGG should have won it but that is the fault of the judges. The fight and the performance of the two boxers was excellent in my opinion.
I agree. Job well done by both camps. Hopefully ppv superfights can maintain this level of excellence.

Wow, you getting a boner there or what? Seem pretty excited
Great news imo. 2nd and 3rd highest gates ever. Good year for boxing. Shows that Floyd/ Conor helped this fight. Hopefully this fight helps interest in others as well.
Glad the fight did as well as it did. At this point the rematch should do just as good. Anyone concerned with who is the A side or the B side is just arguing to argue. Both dudes brought something to the table and the formula brought in a ton of cash.
Let's be real here...I mean GGG can bring in decent ratings but the true star is Canelo, and the fact it did as well as it did was because Canelo was fighting GGG and everyone knew it would be a great fight.
You put Canelo vs a tomato can
Take that tomato can and put him vs GGG
Do 2 seperate ppv's and tell me Canelo wouldn't blow GGG out of the water in sales.
You guys are trying to give Golovkin WAY too much credit in the star power department. Don't get carried away because you love him so much.
To a degree you right but at the same time don't want to give Golovkin the credit he deserves.
He's a decent A side fighter who can carry a small PPV by himself similar to Marquez but a very strong B side who helps generate big numbers against A side fighters. There's very few pairings in boxing today that generate these numbers.
Many Golovkin fans rate his drawing power accurately but his detractors just don't want to admit the guy is one of boxing premier champions.
Of course not. They would rather keep calling him Mr. 97K to make themselves feel better.Let's be real here...I mean GGG can bring in decent ratings but the true star is Canelo, and the fact it did as well as it did was because Canelo was fighting GGG and everyone knew it would be a great fight.

Very good, the rematch will sell much better and likely be better!
Looking forward to the GGG WILL KO Canelo threads again and GGG won't take it easy this time threads!
I expect another boxing class in session by The Mexican maestro without no robbery maybe even a ref stoppage if Reynoso bros can figure a way to boost Canelo's stamina!
Those body shots showed a lot about GGG(that he's got a great poker face) and i think Canelo will stay on the inside more this time and go downstairs much more too!
