Not only was weight a factor but Marquez wasn't fighting his fight. Marquez is a counter puncher like Floyd but he knew floyd wouldn't be the aggressor, therefor he had to change his style and attack and got countered.
Personally, don't see what the issue with a rematch clause is. It's really common place in boxing, especially championship fights

MANILA, Philippines - In the tragic event that Manny Pacquiao loses to Shane Mosley in their welterweight war, Top Rank chief Bob Arum said he has an option that would mandate Mosley to agree on the Hall of Fame promoters’ terms.
Arum told the Bulletin on Sunday (Saturday in the US) that while there is no rematch clause in the contract that Pacquiao and Mosley signed for their marquee match-up scheduled on May 7, there is a provision that gives Arum the right to promote Mosley’s next fight.
It is a no-brainer that should Mosley scores a mighty upset, Arum will have no choice but to arrange a return meeting between Pacquiao and the seemingly-unsinkable US puncher.
“There is no rematch clause but I have an option (on Mosley),” said Arum.
The official fight contract for the Pacquiao-Mosley super showdown to be held at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas has just been signed and Arum warns some sectors of boxing that Mosley “is somebody not to be taken lightly.”
“Mosley is a very dangerous fighter. He hasn’t been knocked out,” said Arum, labeling his detractors as those who “don’t know boxing.”

neither Martinez or Pacquiao would be available for Floyd in the 1st half of 2011 at best he fights one of them but I doubt he fights either next year.

We do know what's up. Manny declined 14 days and fought Clottey. Arum created a bullsh!t deadline and fought Margarito. Now Manny is fighting Mosley.
