"I guess Shane needs the money due to his matrimonial sitaution (a divorce under harsh California community property rules)," Arum said. "I've always considered Shane to be a nice guy but this is what happens to fighters when they age.
"It's like (Bernard) Hopkins, he still knows how to fight but who wants to pay to see him now? His fights are not very scintillating. What you see with Hopkins we're beginning to see with Mosley."

This was barely four months ago... but now since Shane has left GBP and Arum can get more money from the fight all has changed... this fight is a fkn joke man, I hate what promotors have done to boxing
your argument is a little skewed, but nice try--floyd listed shane's flaws back in 2005 and 2006 also--and in 1998 and 1999 when he was undefeated---floyd will do the same thing with manny also--he's the fighter, he's supposed to---whether they are in their prime or not, floyd will break them down---you see, but what you left out was that shane was the champion of the division--that speaks for itself--can you say the same thing about manny's recent opponents?lol
floyd is a genius in the ring--so he can break you down mentally before he does it physically--he has done it his whole career--he did it with coralles, gatti, hatton, and de la hoya to name just several---he will do it with manny also--he's the fighter---it's his job--
and he tried to fight shane when shane was younger--so don't grab for straws too much with your argument kiddo--it won't work with me--
well put !

lol .... Floyd does it (Mosley is too OLD) , he is a genius, Manny's team does it and they are dumb for telling everyone ... whatever .... do you have a straight face while you write these comments? and my arguments are skewed? lol!
and why are you bringing up "but Mosley was a champ"? Yes he was but we just pointing out THE OBVIOUS .... that is, don't get too high on that win because that was not the young primed Mosley. Not even close!
Furthermore, yes, Mosley was a champ but it's because he beat someone in January 2009 who was found with bricks in his hands. Floyd fought OLD Mosley in May 2010. That is almost 1.5 years later..... even younger Floyd needed a tune up fight before fighting Mosley.
Floyd calling out Mosley .... again not sure what that has to do with the topic BUT Mosley was moving up to fight Oscar. Everyone INCLUDING Floyd knew that. That is like telling your friends in June that you want to fight the biggest dude in school but you know he is graduating and you will never get to do it. What's the point?
In 2006, Mosley said wait a couple of months so I can prepare better since he had a fight in the middle of July and November would be too soon. IF Floyd wanted Mosley it would have been done in early 2007 ... and Mosley did fight in early 2007 but never received that call from Floyd.
BEFORE the Floyd vs Mosley fight, your hero admitted that he had a game plan that was perfect against Mosley because Mosley is OLD.
So Floyd knew that Mosley was OLD and listed the opponent's flaws on TV - lol..... where have I heard that before? good find--but, that's the point--arum even admitted that he lies--he changes his stance more than john kerry-lol-he and freddy roach bash floyd, but they have to be the dumbest promoter/trainer in the world, when they basically overrate manny by listing his opponent's flaws-lol--
floyd is so much smarter than roach, pacquiao, and arum combined-

how can arum make that claim, but then go on to have manny fight the guy who that old man shane dusted-hopefully the veil is starting to finally come off of people's eyes with toprank-but, i won't hold my breath though, especially with people on here-lol

"I have to constantly be aware of this, the flak from the naysayers. We've faced with (Antonio) Margarito for Nov. 13 and we got real, instant flak. But now even the naysayers are looking at that just as a fight. Now the pendulum is swinging the other way and they're saying maybe Antonio is too strong or too big for Manny."
The most telling part of that SI piece is this:
"I have to constantly be aware of this, the flak from the naysayers. We've faced with (Antonio) Margarito for Nov. 13 and we got real, instant flak. The more things change...
Promoters deserve the blame...Sure but the fighters deserve the bigger share of the blame. If they don't sign the fight doesn't happen simple.
yea I agree to that as well homie...
