Professional fighters calling Gennady the greatest fighter of all time yet the only ones who criticize them are 4 forum trolls, 2 which are Wards kids. :lol1: :lol1:
Gennady is the best fighter of all time. The most powerful and with the best chin. Better than Julia Cesar Chavez who GGG would have sparked out.
And he is the most feared and avoided fighter in the history of the sport. He is unbelievable.. look at him pressure you with devastating power in the 11th round looking like it was the first round lol. THERE IS NOBODY in the history of the sport who can survive Gennady. Shut the **** up. Period.
Next up - Golovkin vs Superman. Superman better bring his A game as otherwise he's getting KOd :notworthy.
I am as big Golovkin fan as anybody, but let's be real here. He's definitely the best MW today, but all time greatness claims are a bit premature.
Just thinking about it, what about the Cleverly fight? That fight truly put Kovalev on the map. Who remembers how Golovkin got his title? No one. So I am guessing Kovalev's luck started with Cleverly, not with Hopkins.
Other than that, great thoughts, thanks everyone! I liked the bit where Duva is proactive whereas K2 are not. Although there is another valid point, Kovalev didn't have to leave his weight class whereas most people say GGG has to. I think K2 is being as proactive as they can be without changing the weight class...
I bet Kathy Duva is regretting speaking out at WBC convention and offering 50:50 split for Stevenson and Kovalev/Pascal winner. With numbers like this Stevenson doesn't deserve an even split.
I have a theory that the way Haymon does business shouldn't work today. Information is spread a lot quicker today than it did 20 years ago. A fight against a nobody was an easier sell back then. And stars were much harder to build, so it paid to protect them. Could you imagine GGG getting the profile he gained within two years 20 years ago? Today other fighters quickly grab the attention while Haymon manoeuvres his fighters through inactivity periods and meaningless fights. Don King is out of business because his methods couldn't keep up with the times. Al Haymon is next.
Man, I hope Brook gets Floyd somehow.
My thoughts exactly.
I think Khan is just enjoying thinking that he has Brook in the same position that he himself is in with Mayweather. He is being bullied so he wants to find someone else to bully. Very stupid. Especially after their last fights. He might end up begging for a fight with Brook himself if things continue this way...
Someone wake me up when he's signed to fight someone decent.
Look at the bright side. At least Ward has been so consistent in staying away from the ring that he doesn't annoy people as much as he used to. Imagine if he was fighting no hopers twice a year, beating them by boring decisions and talking ***** about Kovalev every other day?
Well, there's a logic to GGG-Brook fight.
And the logic goes like this.
After Khan gets KOd by Canelo, Brook needs to get himself KOd as well. Then he can still have his fight with Khan at Wembley. They both got KOd by bigger opponents, still unclear which of them is better. Comedy in the making, LOL!
With a minute left in the round, Dubois would only be getting up to get brain damage ... can't fault him for staying down to fight another day. He had no chance.
Usyk is a fan's dream. He has given his fans so much that no one would really be upset if he retired now. I hope he knows when to hang' em.
Easy. Just ask for a non-refundable deposit. Say, Fury pockets 2 million if Haye doesn't show up. Haye's promoter wants the fight bad enough, he'll pay. Why refuse good money for no work?
No way Stevens even deserves 300K. Macklin came off two competitive world championship fights and a KO over a proven contender. What has Stevens done? Team GGG sent in a genuine offer, and it's no coincidence the offer is actually out in the open. Stevens can't even say "I'll fight GGG but the money has to be right".
Fighters have to be careful calling out GGG. Five times a year is a lot of fights. With top names in no hurry to face GGG he might just choose to KO the latest loud mouth :) .
You might be interested in finding out that GGG is not promoted by K2. He has a co-promotional agreement with them. I think this is similar to the arrangement Mayweather has with Golden Boy. So no reason to worry about GGG's earnings.
I completely read that wrong I for some reason read it Whyte holding the belt previously. It's been that day apparently Lol my bad
LOL - classic. Just goes to show pronouns are dangerous ;)
What belt did he hold?
Ever heard of Wikipedia or Google??
Alexander Vladimirovich "Sasha" Povetkin (Russian: Алекса́ндр Влади́мирович Пове́ткин; born 2 September 1979) is a Russian professional boxer who held the WBA (Regular) heavyweight title from 2011 to 2013
Dalakian is of Armenian origin. Mentioning only that he was born in Azerbaijan, a country Armenians had to flee to save their lives, is misleading and a sign of poor journalism.
Well, luckily the author agrees with me as he amended the article.
whoa hold the phone he dont have a deal with hbo currently? if he really wanted stevenson why not fight once on showtime?
I think he has a multi-fight deal, but you still need to do the deal for each fight. Approve the other fighter, define the purse, etc.
BS. Eubank Sr already has a reputation for being impossible to negotiate with as some other promoters have mentioned. Hearns threw them under the bus because they are that delusional and has to be brought back to earth. I doubt Hearns cares if the Eubanks fire him. Nobody wants to deal with Eubank Sr, the guy is delusional.
I hope Loeffler refuses to deal with anybody but Hearns when it comes to future negotiations on GGG - Eubank... I actually sympathize with Hearns on this one.
Check this out!

You're missing a point.
Deaths in all the other sports are a by-product. Number of deaths can be decreased with improved safety and technological advances.
Deaths in boxing are a direct consequence of the sport itself. If the aim of the fight is to render a fighter unable to stand up for 10 seconds by punching him in the head, essentially damaging the other fighter, then there's only so much you can do to make the sport safer.
Wouldn't it be awesome if they staged a PPV with Ward straight away? Both guys are stuck. GGG got stood up. Ward is not going anywhere. Say Ward offers a catchweight fight a 164. Mocking GGG and saying that he'll give up 4 pounds if GGG is not man enough to face him at 168, as he would face Chavez. That'd be the day...
Only Ward is not capable of gestures like that. He didn't fight Bute, he didn't rematch Froch. He's suing his promoter. Good to see him not getting fights - maybe he'll realize universe is trying to tell him something...
Come on now. This is unwatchable. "How is your camp?" "Are you anxious to fight big names?" Seriously? There's nothing more interesting to ask?
You can see Golovkin frown as he hears the questions.
Surprised the author didn't write more about the Rothmann fight. I'd have the final round of that fight up there with the 10th round of Corales-Castillo I. The most amazing comeback ever. The commentator was screaming for the judge to stop the fight on the account of Carl being hurt and stumbling all across the ring when Carl suddenly regained his composure and turned Rothmann's lights off with a perfect one-two... If there ever was a single fight that made a boxing fan out of me that was this fight.
What the hell is happening with cruiserweights? Bodybuilders or boxers? Weird...
Also, if the winner is gonna have the full title, where does that leave Lebedev?
The referee gave Groves a big gift as I do agree he was in trouble... But Froch is not getting any younger. I still think it's 50/50 fight. Maybe only ever slightly leaning towards Froch.
Don't get why RS is excited about the Saudis. The most logical next step for the Saudis is to create their own promotional company. They'd have all the fighters in 2-3 years. Why pay for Arum, Mayweather, Oscar, etc. to get rich? Pay the fighter and cut out the middleman.
So far we haven't seen a style from Joshua that would indicate that he'd be able to keep Wilder from clipping him over 12 rounds. So smart money would be on Wilder.
Truth is we might never get to find out how that fight would've played out... After Fury stops Wilder again (which is something most expect to happen), it will be very hard to make the Wilder - AJ fight. Wilder's perception of his own worth doesn't seem to go down with losses. If AJ and Wilder could not agree on the terms when Wilder was on top of the world, how will they agree after Wilder loses twice? :dunno:
I am picking Chisora...the first fight was a narrow loss and Chisora seems to have finally matured. 35 is not too old for a heavyweight.
Hope we are treated to an exciting fight with a stoppage at the end of it.
Thankfully there are other countries that appreciate boxing.
Gassiev-Wlodarczyk could've filled a stadium in Poland or in Russia. Wasn't it a pity to waste this fight on a country that makes a big deal out of a fight between a retired boxer and an MMA fighter?
Instead of expanding to the US, Hearn should make London the new Mecca of boxing. At least Joshua is in no hurry to cross the ocean...
Does it bother you when mexican Americans claim to be Mexican warriors or is it that you are threatened by black people naming their origins or peoples
It puzzles me that Wilder would put himself in a box like that.
Crawford is one of the contenders for the P4P crown. If Wilder implies he's better than Crawford, it makes no sense to say that he's "just" the best African American boxer.
Even if Wilder was asked whether he thinks he's the best African American boxer, the logical answer would have been "I think I am the best boxer period. I guess that makes me the best African American boxer too".
