he is certainly the man at 160 and cotto is becoming a bigger joke by the day and if he ducks GGG to fight rios or something for the 160 title then LOL ANYONE WHO THINKS COTTO'S CAREER IS BECOMING A JOKE EITHER HAS A VERY SHORT MEMORY OR NO CONCEPT WHAT HE'S ACCOMPLISHED. IF HE DOESN'T FIGHT A GUY THAT HAS EVERY ADVANTAGE, SO WHAT? He caught an old man essentially his size (career JMW) with bad legs. Doesn't erase everything else he's done. He certainly dished out more physical punishment to Mayweather than anyone, stood up to Pac (ref shoulda let him finish the 12th) when his methods were questionable, avenged his other brutal beating, then went on to a very good run at JMW........ But don't forget what he accomplished at 140 and 147 because he may choose to not fight the most dangerous p4p fighter in the sport......that's ridiculous........he's had a very high contact career and has nothing to prove by fightng GGG.

I'm leaning toward Cotto being daft if he takes this fight. If he thinks Margarito annihilated him in their first fight with his (probably) loaded hand wraps... he's in for a real dismantling that will in all likelihood end his career. AGREED 100% The difference in pressure between GGG and Margarito is one guy does it with extreme skill, the other used his chin to get through incoming. GGG won't take near the damage Margarito did and likely get Cotto earlier. Besides, Cotto has already PROVEN he has balls, proven his mettle, and took two career damaging beatings already to go with a high-contact career where he's a first ballot HOF'er without GGG. It's just not a fight he's likely to have much a chance in and the risk wouldn't be worth it. Plus, he is insanely small for a modern MW. It's not the 50's where the average MW was 5'8.......most of the guys are 6' and walk around at 180+. The only MW he beat was a carrer JMW with bad legs........good timing for him. But doesn't show much for what he would do with the bigger, younger field of MW out there who can really crack. Were I Cotto, I'd try to get Canelo for a nice chunk of change, then challenge Floyd, assuming he beats Pac, then walk........I think he beats Canelo, gives Floyd a tough out and puts $30 mil+ in his pocket, even more if he can offer Floyd a crack at the 'real' mw title for win # 50.... I think those are two fights he can get.....then walk. Let the real, full-sized MWs fight it out for the 'Lineal' title, which IMHO, is pretty easy for GGG at this point. The guys that are on the radar that can crack he already beat handily in the amateurs including Lee, the guy Lee just KO'd and a few others........and I don't see Quillen or Jacobs lasting too long either. Cotto is borrowing the belt that will eventually belong to GGG. But he's earned it. And he should use it for those two fights and be done without GGG.......just unnecessary punishment in the career of an unquestioned warrior (except the nuts who know nothing)....

Cotto vs Golovkin would be a great tear up......I can see Cotto landing a hard counter early which gets Golovkins attention. Furthermore having some success on the inside and will come straight at GGG, keeping him on the back foot. Mid rounds Golovkin lands some hard shots which turns the fight on its head. Cotto is backing up now.Triple G drops him hard in the 12th, Cotto gets up and after taking massive punishment the ref stops the action.

Next up - Golovkin vs Superman. Superman better bring his A game as otherwise he's getting KOd :notworthy. I am as big Golovkin fan as anybody, but let's be real here. He's definitely the best MW today, but all time greatness claims are a bit premature. Agreed. GGG is the best MW today, Cotto's linear title is (sadly) a joke. As for Golovkin (the poster), he's either a flamer or out of medication. Be as it may, his posts have an entertaining factor, but make absolutely no sense 99% of the times :D

I like Golovkin, I love his fighting style, but if he wants to get serious, he should go up one division and challenge Ward. Then if he beats Ward convincingly, in spite of Ward's dirty tricks and referee's indulgence, then Golovkin will prove to be the real deal. Or, he could also try go down one weight class and challenge Mayweather, in case the latter beats Pacquiao. It's bad to say this, but GGG is his own worse enemy. He destroyed all his competition of his division before any could be spawned again. The dude is a machine but in the 160 division he has reached his limits.
