Nice fight, ill take Pascal by UD
I hope he win too.
Dianconu is a great fighter when he want, but he is always injure.... it's not pretty cool when you like boxer to be active!
And Pascal has shown he realy want big fight since his bout with Froch.
What do you make of Mayweather "retiring" when Cotto was at the top of the division, Margarito was the toughest bastard around, and there was a 7'0" tall freak who threw 1,000 punches a round all wanting a shot at him?
But then he came back when Cotto had already got the shit beat out of him, Margarito's reputation was in shambles, and Williams was fighting at 160?
(I was talking with Clegg earlier today and he brought up the above, and I figured it was too good not to make a thread for.)
Ok, I'm a big fan of Floyd. I think he's the best of our era and when he retire a told myself: that's sad, but I always respect others descision with what they do with their life.
But who was that voice in my head saying: Is a pussy... pussy... pussy... PUSSY!!!!
I still respect and like Floyd for is accomplishement, but... their is a but... and that's annoying.
Calzaghe would probably make fun of him just like he did in the Lacy's fight....
I like Froch, but get real... Taylor gas out and give Carl a easy target in the championship round for the ko. Calzaghe get more and more dominant has the round goes.
Both fighter are exciting, but I'm more entertain by a Calz's fight.
The way Calzaghe kick the sh*t out of Mario Veit. When he got up from the knock down against Mitchell to ko him moment later, or when he serve the beating of is life to Lacy, when he trade blow with Kessler, Bika and Sheika...
Both guys are real warrior in the ring, but it's not done yet for Froch.
Carl's last fight against Pascal and Taylor say a lot about him and about what boxing entertainment mean, but I don't know...
I still feel Calzaghe know how to serve a beating like no one else.
the ref ko'd mitchell while he was punching calzaghe.
he didnt trade blows with bika he clinched all night
he traded blows with sheika until the ref stopped the fight while sheika was punching calzaghe
some warrior
It's true, Calzaghe won by tko and that's what I meant by knockdown. But Mitchell wasnt trading blow when the ref call it, he was off balance and I remember it as a good stoppage. When I'll have 5 minutes, I'll go on youtube to refresh my memory about this fight...
Sheika was trading blow with Calzaghe when the ref step in.... That stoppage s*ck like hell!
Andrade got some fan here in montreal. We love guy that can fight and be a gentlemen. For exemple, Jean Pascal train here too but he get less respect then Andrade right now because is a big mouth who like to bitch talk. But actualy, I think people who complain about Pascal attitude still like him anyway, lol.
And I'm pretty happy for Andrade, he deserve that rematch!
Personnal feeling: Bute never made the same mistake twice. I've being following him from the beginning and he improve a lot from fight to fight, so I think he will win the second fight, without a Marlon b. Wright to screw up the party.
If Taylor showed the lack of stamina he did last night, he'd probably run into alot of problems late on against a guy like Andrade. Look what Andrade did to Bute late on... Still waiting for that rematch but no suprising Bute ain't too keen!
Actualy, Bute realy want a rematch with Andrade to stop the controversy of the first bout. And this rematch will happen by the end of this years:fest30:
*I believe Andrade could win against Taylor the same way Froch done it. Andrade def is getting better.
I realy don't know has much as you guy about boxing, but I'll go with Gene Tuney. The man beat every one in tought competition and avenge is lost.
I'm not a personnal fan of is style, but he hit the lhw and hw big time and he was a pioner of studying is opponent on video before the fight.

I'm one of those who is coming out of nowhere. (actualy from Québec, Canada) I'm not british and I consider Joe Calzaghe as a great boxer, not the best ever or a almighty god, but probably the best a 168lbs.
One point I saw on boxing scene is that joe ass kisser are as annoyng as joe ass kicker, stop whinning.
- Joe is the greatest!
- Joe is a bum!
- Joe can punch!
- Joe only slap like a bitch
- blablabla
- blabla
If I follow your idea, I would pick a guy like Gatti. Not the Gatti who try to boxe with Mayweather, but the old time guy who throw six hook in a row and doest care if he hits your arm your glove or your head, sooner or later it's gonna hurt.
Simply a guy with the heart and killer instinct that Gatti had and don't forget a good chin to take the shot, lol.
Cause in the end, if you try to out smart the smartest, you'll finish second.
I vote for floyd because he got the whole backage of defencive and lighting fast and powerfull conterpunch, but Witaker just drop your mouth with the way he move.
The best response you can get from these guys is something along the lines of:
"19 LOSSES!!!!! WHAT LOSER!!! I DONT CARE IF HE HAD 202 FIGHTS, 19 LOSSES MAKES ANYONE A BUM!!!! FLOYD IS UNDEFEATED!!!!!111!!!!"
I can't believe you said that...
Robinson first loss came after 40 fight, 5 more then Mayweather.
When SRR hit is second loss, he was 128-1-2 and realy start hading defeat in the end of is career, the guy fought till he was around 45, 10 defeat past 40.
Mayweather had the greatest ability I saw in boxing, but I agree with miamijohn, Floyd isnt close to SRR achievement.
I hope you werent serious when you maded your statement?
To answer your thread question: Old timer get credit base on what they've done, it doesnt mean they cant be beat by some of today greatess fighter, but the old timer set the standard.
:boxing:
Of course he wasn't serious. He was saying what the typical response from an ignorant fool would be.
Read again:
"The best response you can get from these guys is something along the lines of..."
I'm glad to hear that, lol!
It's kind of strange that Canada judged against him in that fight, but then again, they scored every round for Urango against Ngoudjo...
It's a invitation for internationnal boxer.
Hey guys come and beat some canadians, lol!
You think he is good enough to eventually beat someone like Felix Sturm and pick up an ABC belt?
The sky is the limit!
But Demers beating someone like Sturm or Pavlik or AA and strape a meaningfull belt?
Asking the question is answering it.
Demers may become a good gatekeeper and stay in the top ten of is division, but I don't see him win any major fight or getting a belt.
Demers might rebond, but it's true he look shy against the colombian (I don't remember the name), but Demers show great heart in the ring vs Thiam who was on the end, but still had ko bigger opponent then that colombian.
To answer clearly your question, right now, Demers is going nowhere.
Hello everyone!
I'm not sure I'm getting the point here. It's not unfair or even new to had a rematch clause in the contract if the champ is defeated. Next, the third fight isn't a bad think! It's a damn gift! Haye got a chance to beat both Klitsch and get all the belts... Haye just got Wlad and Vitali sign in for a fight in one contract!?
Ok, I repeat:
If, only if Haye win the first match, Wlad can take is revenge. If Wlad lose again, Haye got automaticly to Vitali. Simple no?
The champ have is revenge, if he lose, big brother can save the name of the family, if he lose, Haye is the undisputed champ and rule the hw division.
Good deal for both camp.
Now have got to say I cross my fingers so Haye won the first fight so we have some kind of Haye Klitschko trilogy!
