No.
Pac's a very good fighter. He's benefited from very opportune matchmaking, and you have to give him credit he's gone in and taken care of business, but Ali's a different level.
* In 2002, Floyd Mayweather Jr pleaded guilty to 2 charges of misdemeanor domestic violence.
* In 2004, Mayweather received a 1 year suspended jail sentence, was ordered to seek counseling for “impulse control”, and fined a $1000 after being convicted for misdemeanor battery of 2 women in a Las Vegas nightclub.
* In 2004, a warrant for his arrest was issued in Grand Rapids, Michigan for failure to appear at a trial. He was accused of kicking a bouncer in the head at a bar. Mayweather pleaded no contest to misdemeanor assault and battery. He was fined and ordered to perform community service.
* In 2005, Floyd was found innocent in a trial for assaulting his girlfriend outside a Las Vegas club in 2003. The girlfriend, also the mother of his children, changed her story on the stand.
* In 2009, Police executed a search warrant on Floyd’s house because witnesses identified Mayweather’s car leaving the scene of a shooting at a Las Vegas skating rink. Witnesses also identified one of Mayweather’s associates as the shooter.

Thank you. You've done a great service for the entire community by shining a glaring light on an often ignored crime.
(cue the Dr. Phil music)
done against top competition? give me a break. the guy's only two losses came at the hands of, suspended for attempted cheating, plasterito and the other one who's considered one of the top 3 greatest of all time - manny pacquiao.
i mean ... let's be real now.
I think he has a good chance against Foreman, but that's not top level comp.
Like it or not, Cotto had the fight beat out of him against Margacheato. You don't come back from that kind of beating.
Cotto's done against top competition, but he could stick around and beat 2nd tier fighters. There's no shame in that. He's put in his work and probably deserves a little bank account padding.
I don't think either one is scared of the other.
After Arum has run Pacquiao through his Top Rank stable and he's sure that Pacquiao's almost done, he will put him in against Mayweather. He's just getting as much money as he can before Pacquiao's sent to the glue factory.
Dude, you're obsessed with ppv numbers and bank accounts.
When I start getting hyped up for a fight, I might go back and watch a bunch of each fighter's previous matches, and checkout their most notable fights.
What do you do? Do you have a bunch of spreadsheets setup that you look over, to see projected earnings and ppv buys?
Who Cares?
i was actually attracted to it a few posts ago already, so when i said "another one"... i'll let you solve this one yourself.
Yeah, I saw your charming little gif that you posted. What was I thinking?
That's how most of these "ducking" stories get started with any boxer. You get people who weren't paying attention to boxers' careers when these potential fights are current news, and then they hear someone else's revisionist historical take and assume that is how it went down. Add on top of that the fact that the mainstream media plays favorites, so if you're on the wrong side of that you're screwed. Nice read, and very informative for someone who hasn't followed boxing long.
I would love to think that RJJ could be competitive in this fight, but I just don't see it. His legs are completely gone, and boxing and movement are the only ways that I could see him winning. He's definitely not going to KO BHop. Lucky for him, BHop is a low punch output fighter, so I think that Hopkins will rough him up and bang out a clear decision victory.
could be a flight or fight response?
but roach said they would accept any testing
That was the biggest problem with the negotiations right there. There were too many people on Pac's team saying different things. They should have all got together and decided what was going to be said or say nothing at all. Instead, all we got was a steady stream of Roach saying one thing, Arum saying another, and Pac not saying much at all. They should have declined the testing from the beginning using their "it's not mandated by the commission" reason. The way that they handled it looked bad for Pacquiao.
I've saying that ever since i'd joined this forum. We boxing fans have every rights to be suspicious of every Boxers because we don't know who they really are outside of boxing. In my opinion, all Athletes are 50% dirty and 50% clean. You can't say that this athlete is 100% dirty, or that athlete is 100% clean, because you don't know. But you do have to be suspicious, and i hate it when people(Pacfarts and Dan Rafael) says that 100% clean, and no one should be suspicious of him being dirty.
Yeah, not just boxers, but I'm suspicious of all professional athletes. There is too much money to be made to think that athletes won't partake in these substances that they believe will make them better. It's naive and immature to think you know the characters of these people when all that we have access to is their public personas.
Team pac is chaotic in the gym, during camp, and in the press. what did you expect?
I don't know. I guess I was hoping for a little more professionalism and for them to not throw Pac out to the wolves with the different reasons, cut-off dates, etc.
It's only legal for use in Nevada isn't it?
Either way Shane is likely just doing this to hype the fight. Stop getting your panties in a wad.
I guess if you say it enough then it becomes fact.
You like shifting don't you?
Why don't you post PROOF that Xylocaine is BANNED OUTSIDE of Vegas, because I have yet to find a piece of evidence that agrees with you.
They can't post anything because it's not banned. There are numerous forum posts and amateur articles "reporting" it's illegality, but nothing that stands up to any attempt to fact check. So basically there are a bunch of idiots who, i guess, believe that because it's on the internet then it's true.
I think it one of his hardest fight in recent memories.
When he beatin Morales people forgot Morales didnt have the same flair pre-Barrera III. Erik didnt really want to fight MAB for the 3rd time and felt like not into boxing that time.
I don't know if that's saying alot. He's fighting a guy who couldn't even muster enough offense to beat a faded Cotto in his last fight.
The state athletic commissions aren't going to institute random urine and blood testing especially with many states facing horrendous budget shortfalls. It's too damn expensive, and not every fight they sanction is a mega dollar fight. The only way to do it is to have the fighters step up and do the right thing. I don't give a damn what the Mayweathers or anyone else says about Pac's alleged steroid use. Their allegations carry no weight with me, but what does make me suspicious is Pac refusing to take the proposed random testing. Not only that but the way Pac's team handled the whole situation seemed disorganized and frenzied. I heard so many reasons and cutoff dates, etc. from Arum and Roach, while Manny was silent, that I'm not entirely sure why ultimately the tests were not agreed to. They should have at least got their excuses synchronized.
