Now he has come up from the ranks and dominated every division, he took out legends in Moralis, Barrera and Marquez. Then took out Oscar while going up from 133 to 144 to fight him, then took out the ring 140 champ. Now destroyed a top class welter in Cotto and a man who weighed around 15-20 pounds more than him in Clottey.
He is at his prime right now and it looks like nobody can keep his angle, combo and ferocious attacking ability at bay. You even had Mayweather not wanting a fight with him
I think only when Pacquiao retires will people really be able to see how great this man was, at the moment probably a top 30-35 all time great. When he retires his legacy will grow, never ducked anyone and goes for the best...

in two years pac will have defeated all of the 4 above him 2 years ago, time for you haters to show the sport of boxing some respect
since then he has given up 20 pounds to beat the former ww champ margarito and now mosley, jesus christ how good is this guy
140 ring/lineal champ, 2 top 5 WW when you are a natural LW. Yeah your right, his resume is a joke. :ugh:
Not that agree with him but I sincerely hope you're not referring to Margarito and Oscar as the top WW's.
Not even close... not inside or outside the ring does it compare to what Ali did. But I would say he is probably the closest one that exist today. There will be no one like Ali ever again, what he did inside the ring, and his social and cultural impact outside the ring. When you think boxing, you think Muhammed Ali - even if you have no clue about boxing.
Some people have made excellent cases for Ali's boxing career versus Pacquiao's. But I think they're really beside the point. What makes Muhammad Ali greater is that he transcended his sport more than any athlete before or since. He captured the attention of the general public with his charisma and sharp wit. He's quoted to this day. His images are iconic. Ali inspired untold masses by refusing to give in to the pressures of his government and forfeiting his heavyweight title in the process. All these years later, Ali is still adored and studied. He had an impact on the imagination of people on a worldwide scale.
Manny Pacquiao is huge in many parts of the world, especially in his own country, but his reach doesn't extend as far as Ali's. Manny has been elected to his own government as a congressman. Ali influenced and inspired his nation (the world?) on a political level -- indeed, it can be said his actions still do. While Manny's achievements are high, even outside the ring, the force of his personality pales before Ali's. Where are Manny's quotes? Where are his iconic images? When you compare these two men, the argument is brief.
What made Ali special is NOT only the way he fought. That actually was secondary imo.
It was his personality and charisma combined with his skills.
Pacquiao has equal charisma to that of a rock. Seriously.

He is bigger than ali was in america in relation to how big pacman is to his own country. Pac stops his whole country from doing anything. His whole people are glued to the telivision. So is he bigger than ali in relation to how popular he is in their own country. Yes he is like Ali, even bigger.

Ali was the best of his time, and Pac is the best of this time. He is the new Pac, rather than a new Ali. There is only one Ali, and only one Pac.
Pac is as good as Ali no doubt about that. If Pac got any better than he already is, he would be inhuman. People already say Pac is inhuman. So Pac cant get any better really. He has reached that level of ability.
Look at the faces of his opponents. All the biggest names of the sport of boxings faces he has messed up and hospitalized in the process. Trying to get the ref to do their job and protect fighters. They are the biggest names for the simple reason because they are the achievers in the sport of boxing and Pac treats them like inept kids.
Pac haters or flomos can talk catchweights and weight drained as much as they want but they arent fooling anyone, let alone the so called boxing experts. He hospitalized a man 20lbs heavier
