This is a must read......it will clarify to you all what alot of mayweather fans already know....
it also addresses the whole baldomir vs Margarito debate and Cotto and alot of other things.......hopefully this can shed some light for uninformed fans out there about what has really been happening in the last 5 or 6 years............

I think you're misunderstanding my post. Yes, Brian Kenny was asking Floyd to fight Baldomir but he basically was the only one. The rest of the world wanted to see him fight Margarito.
Lol.... Me and IMDAZED have been down this road before. Should lead to some good conversation though. IMDAZED is an ATG poster.
sorry i misread my own post.........i can post a link of a youtube vid of Kenny asking floyd why not Baldomir...?? Why not fight the champ? Why Judah?

It is a pro Floyd article which is pretty rare.
I bet if Floyd beat Margarito people would have said Margarito is overrated.
Every fighter Floyd beatin in the past people are trying to bring flaws to him.
When Oscar came with a TKO against Mayorga at 154 many said if Floyd went to fight at 154 he would probably lose. He fought at 154 with Oscar rules because Oscar was the man to beat. Even Floyd haters didnt talk about Margarito and ducking instead they where previewing Castilllo vs Floyd 1 over and over with the robbbing thing.
Brian Kenny? No. Everyone else? Yes.

When you have a big mouth... doors usually close for you, in any career. Floyd has made it to the top regardless, but acting like you know better than others in the game is a bad recipe for someone coming up. Floyd is an exception based on his talent, family, and name recognition.
i am not giving a dollar excuse..........if u go back to that time period was Brian Kenny and everyone else in the media calling for a Floyd v Margarito match after the Judah fight or a Floyd v Baldomir match???
no it was all about Baldomir..........couple that with Floyd's situation with Arum and Floyd v Margarito was never gonna happen.........it's not proof there was no ducking going on....but the fight not happening at that time makes perfect sense.........

thanks for this post..good read..eventhough I already knew this..but for the idots who jumped on the boxing wagon a couple years ago...and claim Floyd "ducked" Cotto/Marg..ect..its very informative..
what I find funny is these so-called "good posters" on NSB try to discredit the Baldo fight..saying he was the worst lineal champ..and Floyd fought him instead of Marg..
not taking into consideration that EVERYONE DEMANDED FLOYD FIGHT BALDOMIR TO PROVE HIMSELF!..and then once Floyd outclasses him, all those who challenged Floyd(Kenny/Steward/Merchant/public) back-peddled and basically said Baldo was never any good..therefor taking away all the creedit they claimed he would get if he faced the real champ who was the real challenge to Floyd!..lol..very sad it is...
It isn't a coincidence Margarito, Cotto, and Pacquiao are with Top Rank.
Seeing how Pavlik and Lopez blatantly ducked Abraham and Caballero, I can easily see Arum doing the same for Cotto. That said, I'm still not sure who ducked who in that fight.
What I do think is that Top Rank, Roach, and Pacquiao and his team did not want to fight Mayweather with only 2 months prep time for Mayweather style. Porter's dad said as much.
Good compilation of info but his reasoning behind the whole Margarito/Baldomir fiasco is just as bad as any I've seen on these boards. I remember when it went down and Floyd just wasn't interested. Maybe he didn't want to deal with Arum. Maybe. But please spare me the "one dollar" excuse.

I've seen this story many times but the one thing I never understood is why didn't Mayweather ever say these things when confronted about questions regarding Margarito and Cotto?
As far as I know the two have pending litigation over money stemming back to the Gatti fight, that could have been dealt with but I never have heard of it being worked out. If there is litigation it is better to be quiet about that beef until it is settled.
