Why are people calling Pavlik a "hype-job"? To point out the fact that he lost to a much older, fading great in Hopkins? To discredit Hopkins' win? To shit on Taylor because he lost twice to Pavlik?
I think Pavlik has earned the praise that he's received. He beat the hell out of Edison Miranda, KO'd then Decisioned Taylor. I admit, I've not seen much other than highlights of Pavlik's previous fights, but he's got the makings of a superstar boxer, and he's earned the recognition.
During the fight hopkins trainer said it best, he hadnt faced some one with a jab and they allready making him a star, taylor didnt use his jab much againts pavlik. Winky has gotten hit alot more lately an old ike hit him a bit even tho he won the fight, williams is a high punch out fighter and winky is probably going to struggle to make weight, that will sap some speed of his streight punches and give williams to counter.

guzman fights going backwards. Soto hit him a couple of times and guzman took the punches, soto is a bigger puncher then campbell(how many times did he hit diaz? and diaz didnt go Down). guzman wont trade he will counter, campbells shots will be blocked and guzman will use his hand speed to counter so there for you cant call it trading since one guy is to only one hitting cleanly

Cotto hit Marg a bunch of times and he did not go down. Doesn't mean that Cotto isn't a hard puncher.
but when cotto hit margarito he hit him after going back then stopping, he didnt have to base he usally does. campbell backed diaz up in the later part of the fight and still didnt drop him. If you look back at cottos fights his hard punches comes when he is going forward, not going back and stopping for a sec
i think being over is a problem, but if the fighter has no history fo doing this then he should not be looked at like a failure, castillo failed many times so he should be banned from a the division he could not make weight in.
i think sometimes comeing over weight doesnt have to do with not being in shape, i have a fealing that guzman gained more muscle weight then he thaught he did
I think MOST the good or great trainers were never great fighters. they were good after hearing about some trainers it sounds like many came short of the big time
i think b-hop would be the best trainer from the active boxers. i regard as the smartest boxer around he is an in-ring master, lets be honest not many 30 year old could beat pavlik let alone 43 year olds!!
