Also comments on how fighters are being rewarded for being business men instead of fighters. I like Campell. He seems like a real dude! Check out the full interview where fight is the hype
Chase/stalk whatever. I'm just saying that Guzman is not going to stay in one place for too long. He's going to constantly be moving and Campbell is most likely gonna have to chase/stalk him.
Big difference between chase and stalk but whatever. Point taken.
Who is saying anything about running?
I'm sorry - you said Campbell would have to chase. What were you implying then? In my experience, you chase people who run. You stalk those who box.
He might lose his excitement..
In other words, he might make Guzman too defensive. Right? Being defensive is ok, AS LONG as you're using your defense in order to set up offense. When your being defensive just to be defensive, then that's when u become a boring fighter. Take Cory spinks for example
Guzman isn't goint to stand and trade with Campbell. He'd be stupid to do so seeing as how ne's never fought at 135 before.
So, of course, Nate will have to chase.
Guzman has NEVER been a runner, why would he start now. I love Campbell but he's gonna be the one in for a shock.
Cotto hit Marg a bunch of times and he did not go down. Doesn't mean that Cotto isn't a hard puncher.
but when cotto hit margarito he hit him after going back then stopping, he didnt have to base he usally does. campbell backed diaz up in the later part of the fight and still didnt drop him. If you look back at cottos fights his hard punches comes when he is going forward, not going back and stopping for a sec
guzman fights going backwards. Soto hit him a couple of times and guzman took the punches, soto is a bigger puncher then campbell(how many times did he hit diaz? and diaz didnt go Down). guzman wont trade he will counter, campbells shots will be blocked and guzman will use his hand speed to counter so there for you cant call it trading since one guy is to only one hitting cleanly
Against Soto Guzman weighed in just shy of 150 pounds on fight night. Campbell wont be that much bigger at all. He is definitely the harder puncher but so was Barrios and Soto and Guzman banged with them.
And you're right, he wont stay in one place for very long, why would he, but there is a difference from "running all night" and someone who boxes and trades at times. Guzman is the latter, he isn't afraid to get hit and exchange punches. He does so every fight.
People call guzman a runner based on one single fight, against Soto, when he was so far ahead on the scorecards the last few rounds he coasted. People should give him a break because a). he was way ahead and b). it was his first fight in over a year and he still won with ease.
amen brotha natas! you tell em ay, tell em!
Campbell is bigger and stronger than Guzman. Sure Guzman will engage in spurts but I don't ever see him staying in one place for too long.
as long as he boxes and doesn't run.. why does it matter?
why wouldn't he? Guzman trades with all of his opponents (like Soto, Barrios, etc.). He wont sit there and trade with him all night but he will do so in spurts, especially the first half of the fight.
I don't like the fact that Guzman is working with Mayweather Sr. at all..
U think Guzman will actually stay in the pocket and fight Campell?
ugh, yeah. that's how he fights with the exception of the Soto fight.
then again he is moving up in weight, has been inactive for the longest time and has a new trainer which I don't like.
I'm just thinking why every other site has the freshest material. I guess that's why some sites arent free.
That site is actually free. Sites like maxboxing charge just to read the mailbags!
What are your thoughts? Do u think Campell is gonna have to chase guzman around the ring in order for him to make it a fight?
