So obviously scripted, the article is dumb for not noticing this.
Shows Froch has a sense of humour, like most Brits. Unfortunately Americans just don't get it lmao.
Being a Brit myself the Calzaghe Lacy fight was good because a lot of people wrote Calzaghe off beforehand.
Personally for me the Hatton Tsuzu fight was better as I even thought Hatton was going to lose that one and it was a brilliant night for British boxing.
I can see what Frank is trying to do it's his job to big his fighters up but imo this was no where near as impressive. Yeah Lemieux is near the top of the middleweight division but clearly at least ggg, canelo and Jacobs are a level above him.
It's been good for bjs profile and is a good name on his resume but let's see how he does against the real top middleweights before getting carried away.
Also to anyone saying he's ducking Jacobs, like I always say I think most fighters would fight anybody but it would be stupid of his team to put him against Jacobs now when he could fight ggg or canelo after the rematch for **** loads of cash. The risk reward just is not there to justify it. Tbh this fight against Lemieux was a big gamble going to Canada, they aren't going to do that twice with a mega fight there to be made.
Come on, everyone knows most boxers cycle, even with vada if they time it right and don't sign up and pay for year round testing they'll get away with it.
No bull**** I use steds in the gym and you can spot a sted user a mile off.
Interesting .
What are some of the signs to look for that aren't obvious to us not in the know ?
Huge mussle mass, very defined, loads of vascularity and they usually spend longer looking at themselves in the mirror than working out.
Edit> and Spences nips of course lol.
It's a TKO because Amir and Virgil told the ref to stop the fight. The doctor didnt stop it, Con did. Take the whole five minutes and if that dont work, talk to the doctor. Dont immediately say stop the fight. Ask the doctor to check you and see if he'll stop it. He didnt do that because they would've told him to fight on. Do we have a medical report about the testicle. Of course not because we've seen much worse low blows. Zab vs Cotto was bad and it actually changed the entire fight but Zab didnt quit.
Thank you for clearing that up for me I genuinely wasn't sure.
What I don't get and don't get me wrong Crawford is a better fighter and would have KO'd him anyway but how can you win a fight on a tko when it's a low blow?
Surely it should go to the scorecards which Crawford would have won on anyway.
Its like an accidental headbutt when after 4 rounds it goes to the scorecards surely??
Edit> which means again Crawford would have won anyway, I just don't get how its a tko.
I once read a really well written, well put together, evidence based article into how, Pacquiao, Floyd (especially) and loads of other top boxers at the time were juicing, and their various ways to try and cover it up.
Unfortunately I was an alcoholic in active addiction at the time so me trying to find it now, well there's not much chance tbh.
Personally I believe Pacquiao juiced, Floyd juiced, Marquez definitely juiced, well I could go on and on, Spence also definitely looks like he has juiced at some point.
Hopefully something will be done regarding stricter tests especially on the new ways that people find to cheat, it's not like racing a bike where you win or lose you could basically kill somebody in boxing.
I can't see a problem, I like manny pacquiao as a fighter, I like Mayweather too (go figure? I'm not sure if this is allowed on this forum).
In fact I'd say they're the two best fighters of this era. If Pacquiao can't get the Mayweather rematch (which I have no problem with as I see it going the same way as the first fight) then Thurman is a really good opponent for Pacquiao right now.
It'll be a good fight and a 50/50 fight in my view, maybe 60/40 Thurman as I believe it was just ring rust that caused his last performance.
I just don't get the fanboys on here sometimes, if you're a boxing fan then appreciate boxing.
Good fight for AJ, we'll see what Miller is about.
Making the best of a bad situation.
Wilder and Fury drawing was the worst possible result for Hearn and AJ as I'm sure they wanted the winner next, so he's just got make the most of what's available.
I'd much rather see him fighting 3 times a year instead of 2 though, he's only had about 22 fights ffs.
No ones saying he deserves credit, he was fighting a tiny guy at his weight who hadn't boxed before.
I'm not a hater so I don't see the point in hating on Mayweather for what he's done.
A small Guy challenged him and he did what a good boxer is supposed to do, why the hate???
It wasn't staged, let's be honest would Nawasuka have cried in the ring if it was?
No he'd have known his role, it was just a stupid decision to fight Mayweather in the first place.
Let's be real this is a total mismatch but the team behind Nasukawa want global exposure and are willing to pay for it.
Floyd gets a ridiculous amount of money for 3 easy rounds, who in his position wouldn't do it?
I'm not a Mayweather fanboy but come on it's life changing money for any one of us for 10 minutes.
After tonight, he will be considered the man at heavyweight.
No. The winner of tonight's fight will have to fight AJ to determine who is the man at heavyweight.
Personally I think you should all wait and see who he fights next before ripping him to pieces.
I'd like to see him vs Loma most of all as this could be a classic fight, then Pacquiao and last Spence.
If he signs to fight any of these three next then he can't be accused of cherry picking and calling out names.
But yeah if he suddenly signs to fight some easy cop out opponent then he thoroughly deserves all the chit he gets, as he's full of it.
Let's give him a chance to make a fight first though.
It depends on the circumstances and the level the atg is still at.
No one should want to see Roy Jones ko'd by Enzo Maccrinelli or Mike Tyson ko'd by Danny Williams.
With someone as young as Dubois I don't have a problem with Frank Warren bringing him along slowly, he does look talented and obviously his opposition will get better.
Personally I'd like him to wait up to two years before fighting Gorman, let them both progress a bit first, become more well known and you've got a big British heavyweight fight.
I'm sure most here have heard stories about his sparring sessions but don't forget he apparently quit a sparring session against Bakole, sparring is sparring anyway and different from a fight.
Joe Joyce on the other hand is the wrong side of 30 and needs David Haye put some good money up to get him a big fight and he needs it asap really.
There's a good new crop of British heavyweights coming through which is good, when the heavyweights are thriving its always good for boxing in general.
I wouldn't feel too sorry for him, he was probably acting hard as ****, unfortunately he picked on the wrong guy.
That's just a guess though, it could have been because of his ties to whatever gang he is in.
Either way you don't get stabbed in the face for nothing, at least in my version of this reality anyway.
Although the Kostya Tszyu fight kind of made Hatton famous and was an amazing fight (being a Hatton fan it was anyway). I always felt it changed him as a fighter.
Before that he was more in and out picking the right spots and boxing clever, in the Tszyu fight he basically walked through him and broke him down.
Imo he then used that as his main strategy and along with his obvious weight issues in between camps it really cost him at the top level.
Edit> saying that I still think Floyd and Pacquiao beat him regardless.
They're not boxing fans. They're inadequate males with a man crush. They're fanatical about the men..not the sport
It does appear that way sometimes.
It's what kept me from posting on these forums for so long, fanboys.
I don't understand how they can be so biased to one fighter, yes I have fighters that I am a fan of but that doesn't mean that I'll spin everything in their favour.
Like for example I'm an AJ fan but I have a brain and can clearly see that the Wilder fight not happening yet is because of AJ, or more accurately imo AJs team, especially Eddie Hearn.
It would be so nice if us as boxing fans could just discuss boxing, who cares what they make?
The AJ Wilder fight didn't get made because Hearn didn't want it next. I'm saying that as an AJ fan because it's the truth.
Another fact is that Wilder AJ will be a bigger fight if Wilder beats Fury, he's knocked over a British fighter giving him more attention and he'll be the lineal champion, so everything will be on the line.
Will it be enough for Hearn to give him 50% ? I don't think so but he'll have to be much closer to it than before Fury.
If only he had a good chin he'd be pound for pound fighter no doubt.
It's not even that his chin is that bad, he went 12 with a prime Maidana ffs, he just doesn't see shots coming and they knock him the f out.
He's entertaining though and is never in a boring fight.
