I agree they werent at the fitnes level of today but most men back then were proper tough old school warriors and sugar ray hit over 200 fights his movement Sutton else so don't you class Ali or foreman Duran as the same as Floyd or Tyson they were all generations apart like Ray could fight and has the greatest win to loss ratio in the history of the sport. But because of the lack of competition he could never be GOAT. He can only be the best of his era!

That's why it makes me laugh when people say that boxers today would crush the boxers of the previous era's. The only argument that they have is "training and conditioning" yet no-one has yet shown me the improvement of this in boxing. So if the training and conditioning hasnt improved... then it must be the skills right?? Wrong. These guys fought twice a week and most likely sparred every god damn day. Its a proven fact that practise improves the ability to do something.. if the old timers fought more then surely they were more fluent in their craft than todays fighters who don't fight often and are more concerned about training and conditioning. Of course there are exceptions, but to say that all fighters today would sweep the floor with yesterdays era's fighters is ridiculous. Some good points in this post. Thanks.

The top fighters back then were by far physically fitter than the fighters today. These guys went 15 rounds, sometimes multiple times per week! SRR fought 3 different people, in 3 different countries in under 3 weeks. (Happened to be the top fighters of each country). 30 years prior, just 30 years. Was a heavyweight title fight between Jack Johnson and Jess willard that was scheduled for 45 ROUNDS. Floyd should try to impose his size and win by KO at the earliest opportunity before any dodginess can occur Yes he should impose that size, he's too far away from the states (or should I say 'home'?) in potential enemy territory, Maybe if he knows for sure that the smaller guy is ready to go from the heavier shots, should he let him off the hook :boxing:

If Pacquiao, Mosley, Cotto, or Judah couldn't knock Floyd out in 12 round fights this featherweight kickboxer isn't knocking him out in 3. I don't see a KO either, but I do see a fit 20yr old that has the opportunity to go full throttle for 9 minutes.....he doesnt have to save energy to last ten, so he'll most likely turn into the Tazmanian Devil....probably resort to throwing roundhouse kicks when he can't catch Floyd flush with punches...Keeeeeyaaahhhh!!

Let's be real this is a total mismatch but the team behind Nasukawa want global exposure and are willing to pay for it. Floyd gets a ridiculous amount of money for 3 easy rounds, who in his position wouldn't do it? I'm not a Mayweather fanboy but come on it's life changing money for any one of us for 10 minutes.

Seems VERY SAFE, RULES ARE BOXING ONLY 3 Rounds, he is fighting a Much smaller man who is not a boxer in a boxing match 3 rounds, if The Japanese fighter lands clean, so did Shane Moseley who landed totally clean and rocked Mayweather who did not go down and regrouped, this Japanese fighter (He is a combat athlete though not a boxer first) lands clean, Mayweather likely will be able to take it well do to the size difference. This is a LOW RISK Sparring session, a lot of Pros spar with beginning boxers to work on defense, while the newcomers, go as hard as they can, the average non boxer can not land a clean punch on someone like Mayweather even if he stands seemingly in font of them by controlling distance making the non boxer miss by inches EVERY TIME.
