Context of what I said, there are types of ATG's. There are upper echelon ATG's there are lower echelon ATG's and then there are borderline ATG's I think an ATG should be pretty clear cut. I don't think Zags is an ATG but he'd definitely have given some ATG's a tough fight. RJJ in comparison is a clear cut ATG. Zags is a great fighter but not an all time great.

Why are Brits constantly cheapening Joe's legacy by making comparisons like this? Calzaghe absolutely battered that man while suffering a broken hand. Far more impressive a victory than what BJS did.

Being a Brit myself the Calzaghe Lacy fight was good because a lot of people wrote Calzaghe off beforehand. Personally for me the Hatton Tsuzu fight was better as I even thought Hatton was going to lose that one and it was a brilliant night for British boxing. I can see what Frank is trying to do it's his job to big his fighters up but imo this was no where near as impressive. Yeah Lemieux is near the top of the middleweight division but clearly at least ggg, canelo and Jacobs are a level above him. It's been good for bjs profile and is a good name on his resume but let's see how he does against the real top middleweights before getting carried away. Also to anyone saying he's ducking Jacobs, like I always say I think most fighters would fight anybody but it would be stupid of his team to put him against Jacobs now when he could fight ggg or canelo after the rematch for **** loads of cash. The risk reward just is not there to justify it. Tbh this fight against Lemieux was a big gamble going to Canada, they aren't going to do that twice with a mega fight there to be made.

WRONG I & many others have been saying from day 1 that lemule is a 1 dimensional pub brawler. I predicted that saunders would win on points convincingly but get robbed in Canada. BJS did surprise not because he proved himself by beating the elite,but rather because he surprised everyone that he isn't the washed up at 25 bum we thought he was,so lemule getting destroyed didn't surprise anyone,just the fact that bjs was in good shape & wasn't the complete bum many thought he was surprised everyone. So its kindve like the bum that gets off the street & is now holding down a job,we don't think he's better than the guys who had never been bums off the street(canelo,ggg),hes just finally able to sit in a chair in same room as them without getting kicked out for being a stinky bum that gave up all his hopes & dreams.:lol1: That makes no sense, but good for you.

Does History remember Lacy as anything other than a hypejob? He got double digit losses. HE is nothing in the grand scheme of boxing. Calzaghe is not that great. He is an ATG but his resume is stellar over all. Lennox Lewis is greater than him. Exactly. Easy to say that in retrospect. But I bet you weren’t thinking it at the time. It was Joe that turned him from a future prospect into a hypejob in the first place. Agree Calzaghe could have a better resume. Shame the top fights didn’t happen for him in his prime, who knows why. I don’t think he pushed hard enough for them but also, I don’t think he was seen as worthy enough so was never on their radar.

Everyone already knew that Lemiuex was very limited. He already lost and had been knocked out. He got beat up but nothing too severe. Lacy was expected to destroy Calzaghe and was touted as the next big thing. Lacy took a horrific beating and the fight probably should've been stopped after 8 rounds. Those are the kind of fights where fighters die or wind up in a coma. Go shove a crumpet up yer arse, Warren.Lenieux took a beating at the hands of Saunders. You could argue that fight should’ve been stopped too. Roy Even said so during the live broadcast.

Not at all... Lacy v. Calzaghe will be more like Joshua v. Wilder when Wilder comes to the US... Lemieux had already been exposed...

I think this win brought more attention to Saunders and raised his profile for sure. Hopefully Saunders fights again on HBO next against a solid fighter before attempting to unify with the Canelo vs GGG winner.

Hopkins was still a very good fighter, he had loads left in the tank and went on to have many good nights after this fight. He might have been getting on a bit, but Joe was past prime too.
