If the fight was fixed, the judges wouldn't have given barrios the last 3 rounds on all 3 cards. Wether you like it or not Pacquiao is a legend, and as his name will forever be remembered in the sport of boxing. Remind me,who the f*ck are you again?
When. When Dubois beats Usyk in the rematch all kinds of excuses will be made , people will act like Usyk was never all that , etc , etc. Boxing fans are the worst. Way too quick to criticize and throw people under the bus.
You misspelled if.
Ah,the good old "it's running when I don't like the fighter, but it's boxing when I like them". Canelo looked like shit, and was hitting air all night. Tie his next opponent to a rock if he doesn't want them to move.
Oh he's running, running his mouth that is. After he's done fighting on Wednesday against...well whoever he's fighting,if he's actually serious about fighting golovkin, let him have a fight at 160. After that fight, ggg-Lara can happen, because if Lara goes straight from 154 to 160,and ggg gives him a beating, there's going to be 50 threads about how golovkin took advantage of a smaller fighter, who was unaccustomed to 160.
Why are you guys so insecure? Not everyone has to like Gennady Golovkin.
Personally, I don't have anything against him and think he's a pretty good fighter but here are reasons I'm not a fan:
1) He's the most boring fighter in boxing. I don't find his fights entertaining. They just aren't interesting to me because the opponents are so sh1t, you know what's going to happen beforehand.
2) He hasn't beaten anyone anywhere near elite level. As mentioned, his opposition level is terrible for a guy who is so hyped and highly rated.
3) He gets unwarranted praise that should be reserved for other boxers. There are fighters out there with better resumes and skills yet don't get anywhere near the same level of attention.
4) Cherry picking opponents that will make him look good. He is marketed as a beast but his fans and handlers don't seem to have nearly as much confidence in him. They'd rather he stayed at 160 for the rest of his career feasting on over-matched and favourable opponents.
5) The false hype and myth building. They try to shove him down your throat. Putting a mismatch against a crappy opponent like David Lemiuex on PPV. Trying to sell it as such a 50/50 war that you can't miss. Looks like most people didn't bite thankfully.
Why do Golovkin fans try so hard to make you like him? Are they really that insecure? Surely if he's the real deal, you wouldn't have to force him down people's throats....when you have to try so hard to get people to agree with you, deep down you know there's something wrong yourself.
Are Golovkin fans trying to convince us or convince themselves?
Another thread about golovkin? Come on dirk,I know you're a huge fan,and like talking about him,but give it a rest for today.
I honestly don't think so. Wanted to fight an unknown 23 year old 168 lb Australian kid at 175,and gets the fight denied. Then wants to fight some unknown 168lb Colombian in his late 30s at 175,and suddenly he has an injury. Finally they ask him about kovalev, and what's his response? "Whats the rush?". I'd honestly be surprised if he gets in the ring with kovalev before 2017.
damn their punches (most of them) are so sloppy, when i tuned in to boxing i was like
****, this stuff is crisp and so beautiful to watch.
My 12 year old brother was able to point out flaws in there boxing (I'm raising him to watch boxing). It's like most of them don't even know what a jab is,and god help them if they throw a right hand without leaving themselves completely open.
So unifying Middleweight and going to 168 wouldn't be enough these days. If golovkin listened to some of the fickle "fans" on this site,he'd be skipping 168 and fighting kovalev at 175 next just to prove that he's "good".
Really its always bothered me when people accuse pro fighters of ducking one another bcuz i like to believe theyll fight anyone their promotion puts in front of him. But with that said Kovalez and his skinhead fanbase better be careful what they wish for cuz it just might happen.
Skinhead fanbase? So does Stevenson have the black panthers backing him up?
Steveucnlive: So Don King turned down a million dollar offer to face Ruslan Provodnikov on behalf of Amir Imam is what Im told, lol #boxing
Strangley enough,I think that imam might have been able to outbox and decision provo...

Let's go champ...
Or does swapping ranks not work like that.
I'd have no problem with him being somewhere between 6-10. If he beats povetkin, put him in the top 3-5,and if he beats wilder also,I'd really have no problem with him being #1.
