I don't overwhelming signs of him aging in the ring, and outside of his iffy as hell fights against Taylor....he hasn't lost a fight since 1993.
I think he's still capable of fighting for another 4 years.

He's made his money, he's had an excellent career. Yes, at 41 he can go awhile longer because he's kept himself in great condition instead of getting fat between fights and having to get back in shape all the time. But why not go out on top. Unless, of course, the Roy Jones rematch comes up as a possibility.
i think he has a new career, whether or not he accepts it is a diffrent question, b/c i think he has a future still. that sounds funny when talking about a 41 year old in the sport of boxinfg, but its true.
He obviously still has it in him to give us great performances, I just think that this is the perfect way for him to go out. If he were to fight again he definitely shouldn't come back down in weight much. He's already old and the effects of dropping to 168 let alne 160 could be very bad for him.
Yeah but Hopkins is 41, its not like Hopkins is young...
That's the point. Hops is able to beat a 37 year old like that...not a young buck like Taylor. Tarver was easy work for Hops unlike Taylor.
Hopkins doesn't have 4 years. He beat a 37 year old, and did it with the help of Mackie Shilstone. I said that moving up in weight with Mackie would give Hops more energy, but it doesn't mean he can fight for four more years. He needs to retire now, but honestly I'd be very unsurprised to see him fight Roy if Roy beats Ajamu in Idaho July 29.

The signs of his aging are obvious. He's still as smart, but way less aggressive and much less willing to get into exchanges. Like Tony Dorsette said: "The first thing that goes is your willingness to get hit."
Nard should walk away now...A fight with Jones means nothing at this point...a remtach with Tarver would make most fans puke and the only real big fight out there for Bernard currently is Mr. Calzaghe and even though Hopkins looked great last night he still doesnt match up well with a guy that has lightning quick hands and throws 80-100 punches a round.
Retire! (Unless Frank Warren makes a ridiculous offer)

Hopkins needs to retire and enjoy his moment, it can't possibly be a better way to retire than as a current new champion in a new division. Go B-Hop !!!
Where's the controversy in 4 years? That would make him 45 when he walks away from the sport....and if he keeps in shape and trains hard like he normally does, it's not stretching it.
He's already achieved something that SRR couldn't do, why can't Hopkins continue fighting if he decides to?
Like I stated....you'd be hard pressed to find much evidence of him deteriorating as a fighter.

I was very impressed last night, brought me back to the days I really enjoyed watching Hopkins fight. I think he's done and what a fantasic way to go out.
