That might not seem like a big number, but It's enormous when you consider that only 16 1/2 million homes had access to the fight. Which means 8 percent of those homes bought It. A buy rate that remains a record. Around 100 million have access to PPV today. Eight percent of that total would be 8 million. A figure that Mayweather vs Mcgregor or Mayweather vs Pacquiao did not come close to.

I was extremely Impressed with ESPN'S coverage and events leading up to the fight along with post fight coverage. I am actually looking forward to more boxing from the network, although I could do without Tessitore ,Atlas and Smith. Bradley was good and Kellerman would be a good addition.

This thread Is not an attempt to make excuses for Kovalev because I actually picked Ward by decision and thought he fought one hell of a fight last night, but I am curious as to what some of the opinions on the board are regarding the final two low blows, and they were clearly low. If given the proper time of up to a 5 minute rest period after receiving the low blows, does anyone believe that Kovalev would have had enough of a rest period to regroup and actually come back and win via decision? Do you think that not given the proper time Is enough to warrant a rematch?

This word seems to be thrown around quite a bit on this board regarding certain fighters and I am curious as to what constitutes a fighter falling Into this category. These guys get medically cleared, go through grueling 8-12 week training camps, take fights on a few days notice and make sacrifices that most could not even comprehend. So, what makes them bums? Just curious.

If he can pull of wins against some of the younger guys such as Brook, Garcia, Thurman, Crawford or Khan? Floyd has no one on his resume that can compete with Morales and Barrera IMO and all of there common opponents besides Marquez were beaten In more spectacular fashion by Pacquiao. On the flip side, Floyd did get the win over Manny and rightfully so. On that note and as of right now, Floyd should be ranked higher. But what If Pacquiao Is able to make a run and dispose of some of these highly ranked young guns particularly against some of the names mentioned above. At the end of the day do these two finish as equals? If not who deserves to be ranked higher based on what they accomplished In the ring and In there careers. This thread Is not Intended as a bash thread targeted at either fighter. We have enough of that on a daily basis. I am just curious as to what others opinions are on where these to fighters stand when comparing there resumes and career accomplishments.

Who deserves the title as the best ever between Pacquiao, Mayweather and Hopkins based on resume and longevity? Hopkin has fought Roy Jones Jr, Glen Johnson, Antwun Echols, Felix Trinidad, Oscar De La Hoya, Jermain Taylor, Antonio Tarver, Ronald Wright, Joe Calzaghe, Kelly Pavlik, Jean Pascal, Chad Dawson and now Sergey Kovalev. Does Floyd or Manny's resume stand up to Hopkins? Just looking for other opinions on the subject. I didn't feel the need to post there resumes due to the daily conversations and arguements revolving around these two fighters. So again, longevity and resume, who wins?

I think the question speaks for Itself. Other then heart(got up) and a good chin(watch the fight), what skills did Broner display last night that would justify the media and some fans calling him a great fighter, let alone the next Floyd Mayweather? Other then heart and chin as mentioned previously,this guy doesn't belong In the sport of boxing. His best attributes last night were holding, elbowing, crying to the referee, acting(like he was shot), poor sportsmanship and humping an opponent(yes, humping an opponent) This moron deserved every cup and bottle that bounced off his head on the way to the dressing room.

There seems to be alot of criticism directed at Manny Pacquiao for not getting the knockout over Rios, which Is a little surprising considering Rios has an amazing chin(which Is an understatement). Manny put on a beautiful boxing display, landed beautiful hard combinations and was lightning fast and had good footwork, so I guess my question Is what would Mayweather have done against Rios that Pacquiao didn't or couldn't do.

I do not know how many of you had the oppritunity to see the HBO special Joe Louis American Hero Betrayed,I missed the premiere and had a chance to catch the replay tonight and I must admit(at the risk of being critisized and made fun of)this story will make your eyes water.I was aware before watching this story that Joe Louis had troubles with the IRS,but I did not realize the extremes they went through to take everything they could possibly take from him.Besides being one of the greatest If not the greatest heavyweight fighter ever Joe Louis was an honorable man that In no way shape or form deserved what he was put through.

I Have no Idea why this character Is announcing the fight.I know this Is petty but I personally cannot stand him and I am really missing the excitement that only Jim and Larry can bring to a big fight.The cameras showed Lampley at ringside and this Is an HBO PPV so I am not sure what the deal Is.
