This right here is the culprit. This is what should not be done in a super fight.
This fight turned into a hugging contest courtesy of Floyd.
I will not disagree with It turning Into a hugging contest but Pacquiao Is the one that should have taken the Initiative and turned the fight around. The best way to do that Is to show some sort of offense.
And was still running and hugging all throughout the fight ??
Not to mention that NSAC allowed floyd to have pain killer before the fight and denied Pacquiao of the same.
If he did, he Is as pathetic as Pacquiao. For a super fight of this magnitude they should both feel ashamed. Leonard, Hearns, Hagler and Duran would mop the floor with both of them.
Imdazed...do you have a degree in finance? Mathematics? Anything? I would ask the same of v.webb but his old broke a$$ lives in St. Louis...he's part of NMT...no money team.
LOL, KO shot.
Good points..but when you watched it again was their a excessive holding and running by Floyd? And don't let Floyd gets away with in Las Vegas alter your Onpinion. And if so with out them would that altered how the fight would be played out or you believe floyds counter was enough to hold off pacquiao assault?
And your other point I respect your Onpinion on his injury I but I agree to disagree due to fact he did have a torn rotater cuff .
Thanks for the response, beyond tired of the Insults on a daily basis. Floyd did hold and he did move, ALOT, but that Is Floyd's style, certainly not a style I prefer watching, but he Is a master at what he does. There was a tremendous amount of respect on both fighters part for the other fighters strengths and that was obvious watching the fight. The fight was one of those fights where It was actually closer then the scorecards would lead you to believe. If Pacquiao would have been more aggressive as we have seen In the past and not lost the last two rounds the fight would have been a draw. At the end of the day Floyd's right counter and timing was to much. I was originally completely against a rematch but after catching the replay and with the criticism that Pacquiao has recieved, the rematch(If there Is one) could be Interesting. I do not think we would see a tentative Pacquiao the second time.
A few observations after watching the replay.
1. Roach was more Involved then I Initially thought.
2. Floyd won the fight 8-4 as I scored It on fight night.
3. Floyd was not faster then Pacquiao, his timing Is second to none.
4. I thought that Floyd made Pacquiao look pretty bad on fight night, after a second watch, the fight was pretty competitive.
5. If Pacquiao pulls out the championship rounds(11-12) this fight Is a draw. Why would such an experienced fighter give away the final two rounds, especially after Roach made a point to let Pacquiao know he needed to win the 12th round.
6. Neither fighter looked tired and stamina didn't seem to be an Issue, which I guess can be explained with lack of activity.
7. Thank you James Kirkland and Canelo Alvarez for showing Floyd and Manny how It's done. Max Kellerman got It right, Kirkland and Alvarez produce more action In one round than Pacquiao and Mayweather could In 120 rounds.
8. Pacquiao was not Injured. If In fact he was, the Injury was In no way shape or form as significant as we are being led to believe.
9. Thank God these two are crossing the finish line Into retirement. The future looks bright with names like Walters, Crawford, GGG, Alvarez, Lomachenko, Spence, Bradley, Kovalev, Cruz, Thurman, Brook and Maidana.
10. Boxing Is not dead and will continue to thrive although I can't ever see another superfight selling 6 million PPV'S. At least not In our lifetime.
This thread further proves that the Pac mania is a cult. A clear fight to score that wasn't even close but still some saw Pac win
No, he didn't win but 8-4 seems pretty accurate. That's the score I had after watching twice. Everyone see's the fight In there own way.
By stroking my cock to the action.
Whoever is winning the exchanges when I spew on my stomach is declared the victor.
What If you are having a good day and you are still stroking when the fight Is over? Is It considered a draw?
Some of you havent gotten past the denial stage yet?
How long is it gonna take?????
Two things that cannot be denied, watching paint dry Is more entertaining than watching Floyd run hug and fondle his opponents and Pacquiao needs to retire.
No rematch, Pacquiao should feel ashamed and embarrassed with his performance. Most people would agree with a rematch If In fact Pacquiao was able to make It a close fight as Maidana did In there first fight. 116-112(8-4) Is not close.
I think Floyd would be pretty OG if he made this happen though because it'd be pretty dope if the last fight of his career he tahe's the biggest risk of his career after years of cherry picking.
Still think he should fight Cotto again though. I don't think their are any more welterweight fights that would really do anything for him at this point. Sure Khan stylistically could pose some problems but he's hardly earned a shot. Their really is nobody who he clearly needs to fight next. Everybody is still a fight or 2 away.
Cotto is the perfect going away fight to try for that middleweight belt.
Floyd doesn't take risks.
It's crazy to think that Floyd Sr thought his son was fighting scared and his uncle Roger doesn't seem to think It was a clear cut win yet a few 14 year old fans on NSB that started watching boxing last year seem to think that Floyd destroyed Pacquiao.
talk about a big fat yawn. why would he pick bradley over crawford? oh well i mean it is what it is pac had a long career if he thinks bradley will make him the most money so be it and im sure that and the fact he knows he can beat him easily were the deciding factors but geez talk about a big fat let down. all those names that have been named past 3 months and he picks ****ing bradley. :wtf:
It's a hell of a lot better then an opponent such as Andre Berto. Did you voice your displeasure when Floyd picked Berto? I would have also rather seen him pick Crawford or Khan but Bradley Is not a walk In the park.
#48 only choose to fight the fights he know he can win by robbery. Always had and always will.
Right, that's why he fought Mayweather and gave Into every stipulation that Floyd demanded.
damn, i wanted a fresh match up. hopefully this isnt confirmed! still though, I'm not sure Pac beats Bradley this time. how old did he get in the mayweather fight? thats what i want to see
Good points concerning Bradley. If he did get old It would be a case of getting old overnight which has happened to many of the past greats that stuck around to long. It certainly will not be from the Floyd Mayweather fight.
im not even gonna go there but she is better looking and had more fights than ronda...they made laila out to be use her name to cash in...little did they know that, that clay blood ran deep and she was a born fighter
Laila didnt get all the endorsements, movies, publicity because at the time, they didnt really take female combat sports seriously
Christy Martin, Lucia Rijker, SUmya Anani and Mia St. John helped pave to way though
No doubt, unfortunately as you alluded to, her name was what was focused on more than her talant and she was talented and had decent boxing skills.
Floyd fought him at 154. Manny fought him at 147, a weight he hadn't made in 8 years. Dude, I get you hate Floyd, but can you imagine if Floyd fought ODH at 147?
No hate for Floyd personally. What I hate Is the double standards. They have both fought at catch weights so why are you continuing to make a big deal out of only one of them fighting at a catch weight?
That's not true at all. Floyd fans did point out and criticize when the Manny/Cotto fight was at 145. So when Floyd fought Canelo at 152, posters went at Floyd because he criticized Manny for the CW and because of his hypocrisy. It was those fans that suddenly switched on CW's being ok.
At least report things accurately.
Floyd must not of thought that fighting at a catch weight was ok because he publicly commented on the fact that he doesn't fight at catch weights and then fought Canelo at a catch weight. I think someone Is completely full of s*it.
Just the other day a Floyd fan was criticizing Pacquiao for fighting Cotto at a catch weight and praising Floyd stating that Canelo was a great win and one of the best on his resume. You can't make this stuff up.
You're a Fnaboy. Get Floyd's nuts out of your mouth, man. Why are you impressed with this? Why don't you post highlights of the Corley fight? Castillo 1 fight? Cotto fight? Maidana 1 fight? Manny fight??????? GTFOH! Canelo was DRAINED! Do you know what being drained means??? Or are you trying to ignore that fact because it's Floyd? Look at how BIG Floyd is and how skinny Canelo is. Have you ever seen Canelo this skinny before, you noob? Floyd was on roids here as well. Or are you going to dispute that too. Idiot!
It's the way It Is here. Posters like that credit Floyd's win over Canelo at a catch weight In one thread and rip Pacquiao for beating Cotto at a catch weight In another thread. Same old song and dance.
As I explained before your timeline was a little off and, while I understood your concern, it seemed rather obvious that it was a Manny fan alt.
I surely have not made a big deal about only one doing a CW. I have been critical of every CW title fight equally.
to your post I responded to, Manny did beat an older ODH than Floyd. He also beat one that weighed a lot less. Those are just facts.
The same way that Floyd did with Marquez Right? Fighting him at 144 when Marquez's prior fight was at 135 and then coming Into the fight heavier than the contracted weight at 146. Floyd beat a much smaller Juan Manuel Marquez. Those are just the facts. So why Is It that two of Floyd's best wins(In the minds of most Floyd fans) are fights that he fought at a catch weight after speaking out against fighters fighting at catch weights?
Yeah. It pisses us real fans off. Manny is one of my favorite fighters ever and he gets "0" credit for the win over Hoya. The Cotto fight wasn't as bad and still counts in my eyes. They were both champions and Cotto weighed in at 145lbs for Clottey. With Floyd, he had fought Oscar and Cotto at 154lbs but not Canelo. Why? Was he SCARED? Was Floyd roiding then? Probably. These are legit questions. If they fought right now, Canelo would beat his ass!!!!!
The De La Hoya fight Is another example of Floyd fans criticizing Pacquiao for fighting an old Oscar yet Floyd fought him In 2007 and Pacquiao fought him In 2008. Floyd just barely got the win on the cards and Pacquiao destroyed him. Floyd was supposed to rematch Oscar but retired.
Damn castillo...wtf you hitting on the break...he clearly lost that round too as mayweather re-estblished his jab and control at the center of the ring
round 8: 10-8 Mayweather
scored card 1: 78-73 Mayweather
scorecard 2: 77- 76 mayweather
I forgot how fun it was to score fights....this fight is so intriguing
It really Is. It Is a very nice break from the constant bickering, good thread.
any suggestions on the next fight to be reviewed.....
Here are a few more suggestions, Morales vs Diaz, Rahman vs Toney 1, Castillo vs Ngoudjo, Morales vs Barrera 1
Awesome list
Leaning towards...o tapia vs Ayala 1 jmm v PAC 3 Whitaker -chavez
Sounds good, I also think Floyd vs Maidana 1 would be a good one. Haven't watched the fight since It's Initial broadcast. From what I can recall of the fight It seemed fairly close.
Agreed. I still argue with myself over who won, and flip flop all the time, and I am not a flip flop kinda guy.
Thanks for being a real fight fan.
No problem man, at the end of the day we are all here for the love of the sport.
