Who deserves the title as the best ever between Pacquiao, Mayweather and Hopkins based on resume and longevity? Hopkin has fought Roy Jones Jr, Glen Johnson, Antwun Echols, Felix Trinidad, Oscar De La Hoya, Jermain Taylor, Antonio Tarver, Ronald Wright, Joe Calzaghe, Kelly Pavlik, Jean Pascal, Chad Dawson and now Sergey Kovalev.
Does Floyd or Manny's resume stand up to Hopkins? Just looking for other opinions on the subject. I didn't feel the need to post there resumes due to the daily conversations and arguements revolving around these two fighters. So again, longevity and resume, who wins?
Did I say Hopkins should be listed higher? Yes, he did lose some of those fights but the fact of the matter was that he took them.
longevity Hopkins
resume 1. Pac
2. Hopkins
3. Mayweather
Pac takes the number one position for his wins over Barrera and Morales.

Please stop with this nonesense. What was Morales' record after his last major win over Pac? 4-7...Now what does that tell you??? Just because some crap is repeated over and over, doesn't make it true.
I don't think just taking challeneges makes you an ATG (especially if you get dominated), but there in no doubt that when you read the thread title it is hard not to admire B-Hop and get irritated over Floyd/Manny's most recent opponents.
IMO BHOP is the las of the old school boxers. A true champion and a legend. He reigned his division for years and even at his old age took on the challenge of fighting a hard hitting young champion to unify the titles of their division like true champions.
I think this will be one of the last meaningful fights in a long time. Now one wants to unified titles and truly rule their division.
I'm fine with people rating BHop over his contemporaries like Mayweather, Pac, RJJ, etc... But wouldn't you have had him there already? I just don't see how losing every minute of every round in a fight elevates one's status in any way.
Maidana is better than Cloud, Shumenov and Murat.
This too. People don't realize how genuinely ****ty the lhw division is in this era. That's part of the reason hop was able to fight well into his 40s. The WW division as a whole is much deeper.
I give B-Hops all the props in the world for taking on such a dangerous opponent that everyone was avoiding. So he does deserve a lot of credit for that.
He pushed his 70 year old body as far as he could against one of the hardest punchers in his division for very low compensation.
Those other two guys would have earned at least 10x as much money as Bernard did Saturday night had they challenged a fighter like the Krusher.
Not to disparage hop but truth is he started his career later than both Floyd and pac and he has much less wear and tear than either of those guys by the time he was their age right now. His competition while he was in his mid 30s and his resume at tgat point was wayyyy below either of those guys. He wasn't even considered atg material at that time. Now he's been amazing as an old fighter but let's put things in perspective here.
Both Pacquiao and Mayweather have better resumes than Hopkins. Quite clearly, IMO.
But I wish they still took chances like Hopkins does.
Hopkins could have taken more chances aswell.
He could have moved up to 168 like everyone wanted instead of staying in a poor MW division defending his belt against sub par opposition.
Most of his post 40 career have win-win situations.
Why do people make a big deal over pacs win over Morales? Morales is an ATG and a legend but he had just lost to Zahir Raheem and was shot. Sure he continued to fight to a decent level but he clearly wasn't the same. And he still managed to spank pac in the first fight.
Sure the Barrera win is a good one.
Morales wasn't shot until Pac stopped him for the first time in his career.

Hopkins longevity isn't that much more than Pacquaio's or Mayweather's. Hopkins has been fighting at the top level for 20 years. Pacquaio and Mayweather are not too far behind that.
I would say;
Mayweather
Pacquaio
Hopkins

Can you come up with a reason or reasons why Floyd finished higher in the Ring Mag rankings than Bhop or Manny?
Not because he got dominated by him. Because he fought the best the division had to offer. And always did. Win, lose, or draw.
So measuring his greatness is actually something you can do.
Where you take a guy like Floyd, who fought a lot of C level opposition and made a lot of contradictions and whatnot, for whatever reason...it's hard to really gauge the greatness. You only have an idea.
So surely on that idea we would have to rate Bhops ahead of Mayweather on the ATG list?
A much longer career and multiple divisions fought and won in a man not to avoid people.

only if you are a retarded pseudo fan who has decided they don't like Floyd and therefore will do whatever can be done to minimize what he has accomplished.
So Hopkins should be ranked higher because he got absolutely dominated by Kovalev?
He lost some of those fights you listed aswell.
