kermit cintron said that floyd mayweather jr is picking his opponents and that it would be a risk for mayweather to fight him... what do u guys think?
I agree with this. Floyd is the best fighter P4P, but his career has been carefully planned and he has been carefully matched. Floyds biggest fans would disagree but each division he went through was full of matchups he was manuvered around. Also the rumors of him avoiding southpaws is true, look at his boxrec record, go through the list of fighters looking for southpaws. It will suprise you.
Teddy Atlas on FNF about Billy Costello,
"He had to work really hard to become a champion, but one thing he didn't have to work hard at, being a good person!
RIP Billy
He was pretty good. I watched him coming up. The Tua fight was close though and could have gone either way. The television announcers had Tua winning but we know that doesn't mean much. The thing is, that the Tua fight was so close and Tua in spite of his great power we know could be outboxed, so skill wise Ike was somewhat limited. In his earlier fight with Marion Wilson he also had trouble. The Byrd win was very impressive but like Tony Ayala before him, Ike's potiential was no garantee he would have been as successful as people say.
Don't get me wrong, Marquez is by far the better fighter, but Marquez is a featherweight fighting as a lightweight. For Mayweather to come back and fight him as a welterweight is bogus. Mayweather retired because he didn't want to face the top welterweights in the first place.
Spinks would not be a Mayweather opponent anyways. He is too big(see previous paragraph) and he is a southpaw, Mayweather made a career avoiding southpaws. He faced 4(In 39 fights-a record for lb4lb fighters alltime). The same people that sell us Mayweather fighting featherweights will also easily sell us on how great a welterweight he is when he retires without fighting a top welterweight!
They will not mention the odds when they try to sell this fight.
"Stay tuned as Gennedy Govolkin takes on the very dangerous Willie Monroe in an heated middleweight title clash!"
:lol1:
They keep lining up soft punchers for Khan. Diaz was the only fighter with a little pop he faced since Garcia and Diaz was past his prime. Khan will be knocked out the next time he fights a contender. The hype is a khan job.
Everyone has ducked Khan. Why do you think Cotto moved up to 154 and then accept to fight Martinez? He's scared to death.
Floyd and Pac hold each other at nights shaking in cold sweats at the thought of fighting him:
Ise mad scurred Manny!
Prease no ret go Froyd!
Margarito faked his eye injury and retired to avoid him.
Danny Garcia is staying at 140 because he doesn't want a rematch.
Don't forget, Khan chased Vitali into retirement.
Khan is the one that's needs to be careful and keep fighting guys like Collazo and Molina. He won't fight anyone with some pop on their punches until he secures a payday. And then it will be back to these threads when he gets beat.
Porter is the kind of fighter Khan is avoiding right now, why would he want to risk a possible payday by fighting someone with a pulse and some pop on their punch.
