Reports are still a bit vague but I've read in a few places that he is in a induced coma due to bleed to the brain and is being operated on. He fought like a warrior tonight. Another reminder of how tough this sport is. Prayers for Blackwell and his family. Wishing a steady recovery.
His corner deserves the most blame for sure, however. They know their fighter best. And being down 8 to 9 rounds going into the 10th and severely bloodied, they were still urging Blackwell on. What were they expecting Blackwell to do??
Bang on. Both the corner and the ref are liable.
The kid was out on his feet 2-3 rounds before the stoppage. He was getting by on pure courage.
Eubank senior was right to implore the referee to stop the fight.
The referee needs his licence revoked.
Poor Nicky Blackwell, his corner let him down badly.
Now his career is over.
WHat boxing commission in their right mind is ever going to give this kid a blue card again after a brain bleed.
Young man, may you make a full and complete recovery and never endanger yourself in the ring again. All power to your healing and to your family at this time.

Corner should have stopped it about 2 rounds earlier. Blackwell was way down on the cards and eating some crazy uppercuts. He lost a LOT of blood during that fight.

It's concerning, I was thinking about Abdusalamov when this happened. When these guys just keep going forward their corner especially need to step in IMO. We saw it with Pascal too when Roach pulled him out against Kovalev. We should commend the ref here, good stoppage after consulting the ringside doc.

It should've been stopped a couple of rounds earlier imo, difficult though because Blackwell was still throwing punches. What a warrior.
It is wrong to play the blame game but Lockett should be having a look at himself.
I think the problem was that most people around that fight were under the impression that Blackwell most likely wasn't going to get stopped by Eubank Jr as Jr not a big enough puncher to really put him away and Blackwell was too tough.
This is the sort of fight when that open scoring system actually would have helped.
Nick Blackwell update: he is in an induced coma, stable and small bleed is outside of the brain. No plans for surgery at the moment.— Chris McKenna (@cmckennasport) March 27, 2016

May God help him...
The kid took too much unnecessary punishment last night...
Yeah - I suppose if you go to the extreme you can always work backwards. If it is standard procedure there must be a lot of evidence backing it up.
God bless, Blackwell at any rate.

You would assume that he's receiving the very best care and attention. I'm sure the doctors know what's best.

Good news! He is a young, fit lad to he has a chance.
Dunno, if I am morbid or what but I would love to know what the procedure is for these things. Because he can't have had a CT scan before he was put under. His pupils presumably weren't equal and reacting to light and so he was put under. Just seems quite extreme. Not that knowledgeable on the subject but I know those medications will drop blood pressure significantly. Seems so risky.

All signs looking great for @nickblackwell02 just heard from Mick. Prey he's going to be alright. After speaking with Mick I'm sure he will.— peter fury. (@peterfury) March 27, 2016

Best wishes to Blackwell. He was basically unstoppable that night the ref and Lockett needed to stop him.
Bit confused as to why he was put in a medical coma unless he was in a very bad way. The aim is to relieve intracranial pressure findings are sketchy as to whether putting them under actually does this - miffed why it is standard procedure. I have seen plenty of people recover from brain bleeds though albeit they weren't getting punched by a top level boxer. A lot of the time they are just managed conservatively.
