even without the hbo crew mentioning, cotto fans would quickly jump the gun and say he cheated against him, its logical..
If its logical than what's your problem with it?
This is my 1st post here, so hello everyone.
I saw this on yahoo sports and was just seeing what you all thought about their lists. It covers all sports, but i still think Jim Lampley should be higher on the list than he is. He seems pretty popular and everything to be in quite a few movies that cover sports, plus he brings a lot of excitement to the HBO boxing.
Idk half the people on the list honestly, but I'm certain a lot of those names go back quite a few years. Just seeing what you all think of this list.
list sucks
lol he really hates that guy.
lennox has had alot of bad moments he constantly botches words.
This Guy clearly dislikes the fighter check out from 00:52 to 01:04
"not only is he incredibly annoying but he does pick up the odd win..... sadly!" LMAO
I really highly doubt its open to the public the first 2 havent been open to the public.Just from what i've heared.
How did you hear about the first ones not being open. I might be able to get on the press list I just wish i knew where it was
I've been hearing a lot about this gamboa kid. What's the deal with him? I watched him in one fight and he looked impressive. Is he Filipino yes?HE'S CUBAN
I agree Calzaghe is the man but if you think people will be converted when he beats hopkins or anyone for that matter your crazy. The haters will just come up with new reasons to hate. that's what haters do
After seeing these pictures i have to give him the edge on the fight now. I thought if he was drained from making weight mayorga would overwhelm him but now i think hell KO mayorga in 7 or 8
yeah mike did when they used to meet in the center of the ring before fights and the figher would sway from side to side his bodydidnt move but his eyes would follow
Mayweather is still undefeated....I respect that.. 39 fight still unbeaten.. Few hall of famers in it.. 17+ of champions... A few big undefeated names...Corrales/hatton... He's been in brawls and everything..
WHO does he HAVe to beat for you to Say he's an ATG?
he (floyd) can fight klitschko, and still be clowned...
Exact truth...
I can hear it now... Klitcscko was too slow for floyd.. of course he would win against a slow heavy weight...
But Ali and tyson would whoop him easily...
*Floyd beats tyson*
See tyson is a bum.. lennox beat him... so of course floyd would beat tyson...
But I'm sure rampage from the UFC would stomp floyd..
*Floyd beats Rampage*
That Big Sasquash from from the beef jerky commercials... I'm sure floyd wouldn't stand a chance against his jab...
*Floyd loses to sasquash*
See floyd sucks... always faced soft competition before Sasquash.
These threads are ridiculous, aside from the obvious floyd haters there are real boxing fans who dont think he fought the best possible competition at all times. I happen to be one of those people. But i was impressed with his victory over hatton and i think if he fought the 2 BEST fighters available in his next fights he would cement his legacy. to me the next 2 would be cotto and the winner of williams and whoever he fights in his second fight. if anyone still denied him after than they'd be crazy. but the rest of us have a legit claim and its stupid for you to not understand that.
im sorry i disagree.... cotto beat two name guys, pauls beaten one... floyd doesnt NEED to beat them... THEY NEED to beat floyd.... you dont beat one guy and then all the sudden your the pound for pound fighters biggest threat... no way... they need floyd... not the other way around...
floyd, is cottos biggest threat... not vice versa
floyd will fight again.. because he HAS too... and by that i mean... look at how much he brags... he LOVES the limelight.. he loves being called the best... and if you leave the sport... you lose that... he needs the attention.. he needs the rush.... thats why none of these fighters can successfully retire.... a month after oscar... he came out of retirement... all cotto has to do is keep runin his mouth.. he ll get the fight
I guess you misunderstood the thread. obviously anyone needs mayweather more than he needs anyone. he just needs to beat them to cement his legacy and end any criticism. floyd is cottos biggest threat AND vice versa not one way or the other
the problem with this plan is that while hes resting cotto will be fighting opponents tougher than hes ever faced. in these fights cotto could easily lose so now who does floyd fight? if you are the best you have to fight the best what if the patriots didn't enter the playoffs cuz they said they have accomplished all they needed? its ridiculous and doing a disservice to the boxing public.
I definately think there is unintentionally nationalism for Americans though...
How many foreigners do you see headling World Championship Boxing or Boxing After Dark?
Who are the main event draws on ESPN broadcasts?
Why have I never seen John Duddy or Andy Lee?
Americans get a lot more exposure to American fighters, simple as that.
Nah i def agree with that its just that american fans wont root for a fighter simply because he is american, while most other countries will. And even when americans do get behind a fighter it's not like they are waving a million american flags at the fights like other countries
For Taylor not to finish his man when he had him like that in the second round is pathetic, i could understand if he had him hurt in the 10th and couldn't finish him because of fatigue, but it was the second round!. pavlik was almost out on his feet and there was a minute left, he wasnt ducking punches at all and was just holding on. the worst part was taylor was holding him back. Taylor is better than pavlik and most fighters but for some reason he doesnt have the same stamina.
Your logic is flawed because IT WAS THE SECOND ROUND. Kelly wasn't tired and he had plenty of energy to recover quickly. Trust me it is much more difficult to get up from that shot in the 10th, when you are fatigued, than in the second when you can recover quickly and get your legs back.
i think he also did recover quickly and prob would have been knocked out in the tenth. but there was a good 1:20 secs where he was a sitting duck, and taylor should have been able to perform a onslaught that would have sent him out for good.
