I definately think there is unintentionally nationalism for Americans though...
How many foreigners do you see headling World Championship Boxing or Boxing After Dark?
Who are the main event draws on ESPN broadcasts?
Why have I never seen John Duddy or Andy Lee?
Americans get a lot more exposure to American fighters, simple as that.
Nah i def agree with that its just that american fans wont root for a fighter simply because he is american, while most other countries will. And even when americans do get behind a fighter it's not like they are waving a million american flags at the fights like other countries
There isn't really nationalism in american boxing anymore.

theres MANY to name yo Muhammed Ali, Joe Louis, Evander Holyfield, George Foreman, Roy Jones Jr, Floyd Mayweather Jr, Oscar De La Hoya, Sugar Ray Leonard, Sugar Ray Robinson, Sugar Shane Mosley, Bernard Hopkins.. many many guy yo, A LOT more than what I named, these guys repped the US with pride and even though in instances like Ali with the war he still at heart loved his fans, they took pride in repping their hometowns within the United States and many people love them.. 100
Vernon Forrest and Winky Wright...
Talk about having to earn everything given to you.
Everyone knows Wright's story about having to labor in Europe and other foreign places to get recognition.
Forrest was on the olympic team, and was overshadowed by Mosley. In reality, I bet most people place Mosley higher than Forrest in all-time greatness even though Vernon is 3-0.
Both kept that shit real (except against Mayorga god damnit).
Which P4P fighter past & present are Americans most proud of & why ?
Probably Oscar, for representing us by winning gold in the Olympics and tearing ass ever since.
