I love Duddy myself, and though he had much better defense last time out, he does need to step up his opponents more quickly to the top and not take steps back by fighting mediocre boxers. Also, he needs to get back that KO power. It's great his boxing more instead of brawling, but that doesn't mean he shouldn't be able to rack up the KO's! I've watched all Duddy's fights going back to around 2005, and learned about Pavlik when I was trying to figure who Duddy may have to fight, before Pavlik was near the top. Personally, I think Kelly will knock him out though.
Hey douche bag Anton, what are you "great" at? Pay up on your Cotto bets and take up hopscotch!
For all the rest of you who pick Hopkins, yes, he has experience. But 43 years old? He has to be MUCH better than Pavlik to beat him given Pavlik is in his prime. Kelly KOed 3 top contenders who'd never been knocked out in '07, and I believe he'll do it again in October against Hopkins, unless he runs like Taylor did in fight 2.
123tyson,
You have to go to sopcast.com and download the software. No problem, but it takes about 10 minutes and you have to register, etc. Then go to the site Rob posted and it will invoke your sopcast so you can see it live feed.
What's up guys?
I am new to sopcast, etc. but downloaded the sopcast software for windows from the sopcast.com website and put in the address link in the post just above (from silencers98) and it is now showing a soccer game. IE. I think I'm in good shape for tonight's fights on that channel.
Check this out, ONLY the main event (Klitschko/Ibragimov) will be shown on HBO, not the Duddy or Greene fights, even though Duddy is on the brink of a title fight and Greene is a contender.
Do you know if the address for sopcast above will also show the undercard fights tonight? Are there any other sopcast sites in case the one above doesn't carry the fights?
Thanks! I searched long and hard on the web and this is the only place I found a possible link to the fights tonight!
rob,
Thanks for one of those last links, it gives the English version! I pulled it up and it says S 7 on the video screen right now, presumably because it doesn't air for a while yet.
I live on the US east coast, and wonder what time the airing starts. It says at that site 2:30, which is the same time that site shows airing of the Joe Louis special. So I looked up the TV listings here to see when the Joe Louis special starts, figuring the fight starts same time. Well, it shows 8:00, roughly 1/2 hour from now.
Anyway, I'll be tuned in.
I am going to try it. I can get the main event on HBO, but want live stream for the undercard fights. Duddy and Greene fans are going to be ticked and looking for sopcast when they realize the undercard will not be shown on TV. Personally, I have as much fun watching live stream than on TV anyway, given there aren't many hangups with the feed.
It would take a dancer to try and outpoint him, but would be a terrible fight to watch. I have much more respect for boxers like Pavlik who are there to FIGHT! I keep thinking of the fight when Cory Spinks danced around against Taylor and made me wish I hadn't paid to watch that BS!
Seems to me there were lots of people talking lots of smack earlier today about Diaz. I'm getting spotty reception from p2p, but it looks like Manny might win every round!
Boxing Herald will have it MONDAY.
I got the Duddy/Campas fight last year livestream on Rte' Ireland National Television and Radio channel, but not this one.
I have no idea who might carry it, and no, to my knowledge this is not televised on any TV channel, paid or otherwise.
Kessler rocked Calzaghe. Pavlik would put Calzaghe to sleep, and his daddy knows. Hence the Ozzy Osbourne babble in the interview about why he's ducking Pavlik.
Miranda is one dirty fighter. Head butts, low blows, spitting out mouthpiece to buy time against Pavlik. I didn't see anything from the clips of the first Miranda/Abraham fight to indicate Miranda can beat him.
Miranda is a trash talker. I liked his humble beginnings, but lost respect for him when he trashed talked to Taylor at the Pavlik press conference. Add to that his head butts, low blows, spitting out his mouthpiece to buy time to recover in the Pavlik fight, and I have little respect for him. However, he did say the honorable thing after his loss to Abraham.
Miranda took Abraham to decision the first time they fought. So Pavlik is better because he whacked Miranda in 7 the first time, right? Maybe he takes him out in 2 if they fought again. The logic to this original thread is flawed.
Miranda fought Abraham's fight, throwing bombs when Abraham was in full defense, allowing himself from round 3 on to be caught with some vicious counters as he wasn't so fresh and got careless.
Kessler was game, but so is Pavlik. He's walked through everyone so far, knocking out three top opponents in 2007 who had never been knocked out before. He also looked REALLY good last week against Gary Lockett. I'd love to see Calzaghe/Pavlik, but figure Kelly will do him in.
I think Pavlik would absolutely destroy Lee or Duddy, though he (Pavlik) needs to work on combinations instead of just one-two the way he fought Taylor in the second fight.
BTW, I was a HUGE Duddy fan, but couldn't have been more disappointed in his last outing against Walid Smichet. He seems to LOSE knockout power over the past year or two, and though his head movement/defense looked good against Eastman, he looked like a complete amateur against Smichet. He's lucky to have survived that fight for sure, much less won it!
The Duddy who fought Eastman was good, not a scratch on him. The one who fought Smichet would get knocked out against anyone good. If he continues like he apparently looked last night, AND gets his KO power back, maybe he'll make a good run at light middle. But I can't see him ever beating Pavlik, and I'm as big a Duddy fan as any!
What I couldn't believe is 1) he just now started weight training, and 2) just now started eating like an athlete needs to advance in sports.
Hello? What the heck was wrong with him not to do these things from jump street!
It's slated for some Polish sports channel. Anyone know if it will be livestreamed, and if so, where? It's not a PPV, so I hope I'm not breaking any forum rules by asking.
