Sorry guys but its true. Abraham KO's Miranda in 4. Pavlik KO's Miranda in 7.
Pavlik KO's and gets a Unanimous Decision against Taylor isn't that impressive because Taylor looked horrible against Cory (garbage) Spinks and Kassim Ouma who has no power. Pavlik beats a no movement Lockett. I like his Ko style but his recent wins doesn't mean he is in the top 7 P4P like everybody thinks. I would love to see him prove it though against Winky, Abraham, Calzaghe, and maybe even old and wrinkled Bhop.
I don't see where he has better technique. He doesn't have a big arsenal of punches. His hooks look funny, he has a basic strong 1-2, and throws good body shots. AA can throw any type of punch. He is more than a match for Pav and I expect AA to take Pav out because of his flimsy defense.
i totally disagree with this . . . pavlik has an is known for his 1-2 but he has every other punch in his arsenal as well. he has right/left hooks and a good uppercuts and does excellent body work he has good power in both hands and is suppose to be ambidextrous . . . so whats missiing from his arsenal?!?!?
also this guy says pav is overrated!?!? but still has him in his top 10 p4p . . . so he's only slightly overrated in your opinion!?!? i really haven;t seen pav as high as 2 or 3 in p4p and its all opinion anyways right . . .
This is another good take.
AA's extremely tight defense, is designed to take advantage of guys like Miranda, who wail away with wide shots while leaving their chin hanging out there. AA is a classic disciplined defensive fighter.
Pavlik's also a disciplined fighter who is more offensively minded and picks his shots and doesn't give his opponent a rest. Pavlik won't fall for the turtle trap that AA can spring from like he did to Miranda. Kelly has that classic lanky frame and can be in-and-out in a flash with you throwing back at air .... then Kelly's got you back in his range throwing and landing while you cover up, then he's gone again.
Pavlik's gonna' give AA fits.
Pavlik throws sharp, crisp, powerful punches that will do damage to Abraham even when he is in his guard.
I understand that AA did was impressive, and I am happy for him, but he is getting alot of praise and people expecting him to be the favorite and knock Pavlik out will be in for a suprise.
I dont think Abraham is sloppy, I think he has a very tight defense and throws careful, measured shots.
Pavlik's workrate, combined with his power and technique, could create problems for AA and take him out of his game, however.

Doesnt matter who u think is the better fighter, Pavlik clearly has teh better technique.
Abraham throws wiiiiiide looping shots and is very sloppy offensively.
He hits very hard and has good handspped.
And Pavlik has excellent defense, U rarely see him get hit flush. Pavlik will get the respect his defense deserves in teh Abraham fight, win or lose

So you do realize that Pavlik beat up and brutally knocked out Miranda BEFORE Abraham did, correct?

A few days ago Kessler was accused of being afraid of Miranda and now he all of a sudden sucks and was washed up...:nonono:
There is NO WAY Pavlik will "destroy" Abraham. AA has better hand speed and a superior defense. Pavlik may win but it's going to be a close fight either way.
Pavlik has the better technique.. Pavlik by KO .. AA will land his shots but in the end it will be a brutal KO

Did you ever think maybe the Pavlik fight Miranda had took a lot out of him? Pavlik really put him through a beatdown in 7 brutal rounds. Whatever Miranda had, was left behind in the Pavlik fight. Like Tito brutalizing Vargas then Oscar finishes him off sooner. Tito Brutalizes Mayorga, Oscar finishes him sooner. It's nothing but cleaning up someone else's mess later on, or scrap picking you can call it. Eitherway, Miranda sucked so I can't say beating him means much for either guy. But, Pavlik did fight Miranda when everyone else was scared to.
Pavlik will DESTROY Arthur Abraham, mark my words. He isn't active enough and relies on his opponent to make mistakes. Just because Abraham KO'ed Miranda doesn't mean anything. It's the same thing as De la Hoya stopping Mayorga, Miranda is an opponent that makes you look good. Miranda was very weak that night his shots weren't even moving Abraham's gloves...
That wasn't how it was last week. Anyway the point about Pavlik is that at this stage his entire P4P reputation now rests on the fact that he beat Taylor twice, but these are wins over just one opponent. Now it might be that that reputaion is deserved, but what if it was just one of those situations where Pavlik just happens to have Taylor's number, but is not neccessarily capable of beating everyone else. What if Taylor simply isn't that good?
For a good example of how wins over a single opponent can be misleading, we don't have to look any further than Taylor himself, and his two wins over Bernard Hopkins. Weren't they supposed to make him 'great'?
It might very well be that Kelly Pavlik is the best MW in the world, but my opinion is that he still hasn't proved it. I think elevating him even in to the P4P top 10 at this stage is probably premature.
Pavlik was also nearly KO by Taylor in the first fight and the second Taylor fight was really close. I had Pavlik winning it but many thought that Taylor deserved the decision.
Pavlik and Abraham need to fight to unify the MW division. It's a 50/50 fight that is IMO nearly impossible to confidently pick a winner. All I know is it should be a war and I hope it's made soon.
Pav and Abraham are the goods. You are doing a disservice to both when you use this math. But it is your opinion. This system of mathematics of who beat who in earlier rounds by ko does not prove a thing whether a fighter is overrated. You'd have a better argument of saying he has more power, and even then that can't be proven.[/QUOTE
Miranda getting Ko'd in 4 is only helping my argument. I agree Pav and Abraham are the goods but I just don't see Pavlik as what everybody else makes him out to be "great". He is a good solid fighter that has proved himself to be real good. Great and in the top 5 P4P he has to beat more better opposition like Wright, Calzaghe, B hop, Abraham. Pavlik is an entertaining boxing because of his style and style make fights.
But isn't a lot of Pavlik's reputation based on beating Miranda too?
Exactly my point. I am not saying Arthur Abraham should be in the top 10
P4P because of his KO of Miranda in 4, but now he has a better chance of proving it. Pavlik has a chance to prove his worth against better opposition Like Wright, B hop, Abraham, Calzaghe. Stop fighting boxers that are not at your level.
But isn't a lot of Pavlik's reputation based on beating Miranda too?
Partly, yes.
Look at how Pavlik beat Miranda. It was a six round shut-out going into that 7th Round KO. Remember, Miranda had shown some good durability in fights leading up to Pavlik. Most fans thought Kelly would need to show some disciplined boxing to beat Miranda, but chose to stand right in front of Miranda and give us a slug fest.
That's the kind of fight that builds reputation. You know, when you're ready to play an opponents game and you beat his soundly doing it.
More of it is from beating Taylor twice. Who else has Abraham beat exactly?

I dont agree that ur better because u win faster but i do agree Pavlik is a bit overated, he is good really good but not the fighter some would have u believe
