he considered a 2 time lineal champ at 147.(see baldo and shane)
Exactly. I guess some folks aren't going to agree with that. Even an article, endorsed by this website claims Floyd is a 2 time lineal Welterweight Champion. I can't post the link until I have 15 posts. Still interested to know how someone could think he was lineal at 154.
So again let me get this straight, that means the title that Floyd won from Oscar was NOT lineal..... Oscar was not considered the man at that time he beat Mayorga who was not considered the man has he won the Vacant WBC from Piccirillo in a box off for that vacant title.
So again why do we say that Floyds Jr Middleweight title is Lineal?
Who said the Jr. Middleweight title was lineal? First time I've ever heard that.
He is a 4 time lineal champ in 3 weight divisions: Jr Lightweight, Lightweight and welterweight (twice)
This would be an interesting fight if Rigondeaux had turned pro a few years earlier. You never know though seeing as Rigondeaux isn't getting any younger and his career is getting pushed forward rather quickly
Here's what I think and I know some agree with me.
Both of these guys have no intentions of fighting each other and both are probably on a mutual level. For all we know they've been talking all along with each other on how to trick the public into buying their upcoming PPV's without either of them looking like ducks.
They need their fans support and now with this "new" issue of Floyd not accepting 50/50, Pacquiao has a legitimate reason not to fight on May 5th. Seriously think about it..
My 2cents
That is something that could be worked out in negotiations so no it isn't a legitimate reason not to fight. That being said, Floyd Mayweather is an idiot.
Wrong, Pavliks biggest problem will be patience and sticking with the program. He has the tools he just needs to bring them out against the right opponents then he can step back in against the upper class of the division.
If only it was that simple. Substance abuse is no joke
Dirrell needs to beat a top ranked fighter before he gets his shot. His last 2 performances were very questionable, he has to show he can put it together before he fights for a world title again.
I would love to see the fight then.
I agree. There is no question that Dirrell is a great talent and it would probably be a good fight
 I wasn't aware that there was anything wrong with the NY Times.
And, even if there is or the NY Times knows their boxing or not is irrelevant. As long as the writer/journalist who's writing the piece knows about the sport. Like ESPN I wouldn't say ESPN knows their boxing, and ESPN has a couple of employees who give their opinion about the sport and don't really follow the sport. But, ESPN also has a few employees who do follow the sport. Is all about who's doing the reporting basically. But, anyways all this is irrelevant to the subject in hand.
I apologize, i misunderstood your response. the article is sort of related to the thread topic. It represents the financial aspect of a Floyd fight. I doubt this fight would be structured this way though.
1.There is no purse in a fight like this, it's a revenue based fight. Arums cut wil come from mannys half, that doesn't effect Floyd.
2.may is not putting up mannys money like he does with his other opponents. So don't carry on like floyd is taking all the rîsk, he is not financing the whole fight. Arum will pay for half of any up front costs as he pays it for mannys fights.
This isn't a standard find an opponent, pay them and keep the rest fight for either guy. Until both guys except that it won't get done.
Excellent points.
:haha: :haha:
I'm not saying I agree with the TS but it kind of reminds me of this article I read a while back.

Hatton had 1 fight after Mayweather and got his ass whopped. Then he fought manny. Go to google before coming on here.
You can't be serious. Hatton fought Juan Lazcano, winning a clear decision. He didn't look good in the fight. Then he beat on Malignaggi until McGirt threw in the towel.
The irish traveler bareknuckle myth has been busted already, what about the great warrior with amazing heart Billy HOE saunders who was talking crazy about "you never fought a gypsy before" and then QUIT at the first sign of trouble.
Billy Joe is romany.
I don't really post here much, just stop by for boxing news as this is pretty much the best site for it. I find the title very misleading as it should state Mayweather-Pacquaio bust. It seems that this place is more concerned with catering to those that don't like Mayweather rather than real boxing fans in the past while.
That test was from the Hammer fight,Fury tested clean from the Klitschko fight..
Exactly. Not sure why that the quote looks like that is something I posted
firtha & pajkic are not bums. both are C+ level fighters. maybe you should watch neven pajkic fights.all his fights are slugfests vs solid journeymen. pajkic beat raphael butler before price did. both pajkic & firtha would beat mcdermott.those "bums" are solid fighters that you have to beat to be considered a title threat. i think price looks to be the better prospect but fury has been active & continues to step up his level of competition. fury beat firtha, pajkic & chisora his last 3 fights. all 3 had him in trouble but he pulled it out. although i felt the firtha & pajkic stoppages were premature.
I agree with this, you seem to know you heavyweights. To this day I still don't understand how someone can call a professional athlete a bum.
