Here's what I think and I know some agree with me.
Both of these guys have no intentions of fighting each other and both are probably on a mutual level. For all we know they've been talking all along with each other on how to trick the public into buying their upcoming PPV's without either of them looking like ducks.
They need their fans support and now with this "new" issue of Floyd not accepting 50/50, Pacquiao has a legitimate reason not to fight on May 5th. Seriously think about it..

That is something that could be worked out in negotiations so no it isn't a legitimate reason not to fight. That being said, Floyd Mayweather is an idiot.
I've been a huge Mayweather supported but Floyd just proved that he was not serious about fighting as Bob Arum suggested & that's hard to swallow. I will not be ordering his next fight & I hope other Mayweather fans let Floyd know how they feel by not ordering his next fight.
I don't see it being of any benefit from a marketing standpoint. It doesn't make either of them look good and it leaves fans with a disappointed feeling leading up to their next respective fights (never good for business).
It's worked for the past 2 years. Both have been doing 1m+ PPV buys. We'll find out with their upcoming fights. The PPV buys mostly consist of the general public and not us hardcore fans that know every detail.

Wouldn't be surprised if that was what their little phone chat was about- how to further swindle the public and make more easy money. Good old fashioned game planning.
