Nah it's all cope. Mcgregor was boxing the ATG Mayweather's head off before he gassed out. Ngannou beat Fury. It took AJ 6 rounds to knockout a 210lb youtube streamer. Usyk the #1 p4p goes life and death with a 37 year old kickboxer. At some point you have to stop making excuses and tell the truth which is that boxing is a bum sport where randos from other sports can come in and knock off the elite fighters. People want to make excuses but at some point you have to look at the truth
WWE pro wrestling also has tons of fans and sometimes sells 1 million plus pay per views. UFC is more comparable to WWE than to boxing. Who cares how many fans WWE has?
It is clear that EffPanda and TMLT87 are MMA fanboys that found their way to boxing forums sometime after the rise of conor mcgregor, maybe around the time of the mayweather fight.
MMGay is only popular among american white males. No one else cares about it. These same demographic seems to think everyone has the same taste as them also. The world wants boxing - not UFC grab ass !
TMLT87 is grabbing his TAPOUT shirt and wiping tears from his chubby face as a result of NCCA wrestling champion and top level MMA fighter Ben Askren getting knocked out in 10 seconds by some kid off Youtube.
Its hard to call boxers a higher calibre of "fighters" when they'd get their **** pushed in quickly and consistently under most combat sports rulesets vs even mediocre UFC guys as they dont have 75% of the things in their skillset that MMA fighters do.
.
MMA has only been a 'real' sport for around 15 years. Anything before 2005 or 2010 was backyard bull****. There was hardly any competition back then. Ask yourself how high a caliber MMA fighters are when the sport is so young. MMA is basically where boxing was before the Jack Dempsey era even, back in the bare knuckle days. Boxing has over 100 years as a large, high paying, high competition professional sport. What is takes to be considered a high level boxer is undoubtedly a higher standard than to be a supposed 'elite' mma fighter.
You are a typical mma fanboy in that you think MMA is even close to having the depth of competition that boxing does. Give MMA another 50 years of development, then they can begin to talk about their fighters in comparison to boxers.
Plant's best wins are a crackhead journeyman Uzcategui and a 40 year old Caleb Truax
Other than that, Plant's entire resume are scrubs.
Canelo has been in the ring with over 15 top level fighters, maybe as many as 20. Plant has been in the ring with 0.
Maybe I misinterpreted the "no sparring" part. It seems to be saying he only spars in training camp for the fight, just not in between camps. So he is sparring in preparation for the fight, just not in between camps.
“He didn’t spar in between fights really before I trained him, and I told him, ‘When you’re on a schedule of one fight a year, one fight every six months, you can’t not spar. I know you think you’re getting wear and tear on your body, but the rust is going to be too hard to overcome.’
“So when I first trained him for the Dirrell fight, he hadn’t sparred in over a year or close to it. He was just rusty. That’s the only word I could use to describe him. Really, really rusty.”
Edwards said Plant struggled through the opening weeks of camp because his timing and distance had not been there, but Plant is now starting off sharp and in shape.
“Listen, I don’t believe in not sparring between camps,” Edwards added. “I think you gotta spar to stay sharp. Especially when you’re fighting once a year, so we overcame that. For this camp, he’s been sparring two, three times a week so when I got out here he was sharp already, so that alone will keep you sharp.
He didn't spar between fights. So he's only getting hit when he steps in the ring? I find that hard to believe
Female boxing is not a sport with a deep talent pool, it's just the truth. Being the best in that sport isn't something that deserves a great deal of credit.
MMA fighters being underpaid of one of the biggest myths out there. They are paid very little because they are largely low skilled, easily replaceable bums. MMA fighters make 200k because that is an accurate estimation of their worth. They are not paid like boxers because they are not the same level of fighter or athlete.
The well known MMA fanboy TMLT87 is back at it sluping off MMGay on an boxing forum. Cunningham after the fight basically said they didn't even want to hurt eachother because they are friends, but this ufc pumper thinks the fight was legit.
MMA fans are something else. They are the only fans I've seen who side with the promoter over the fighters. Who has ever seen a boxing fan side with Bob Arum over a fighter?
Shields claim to the GWOAT is laughable. There are 15+ women in women's boxing history with significantly better resumes than her, plus they pass the eye test better than she does.
I don't know why you are expecting MMA fighters to have a sense of honor. Their 'sport' consists of sitting on men's chests and punching them in the face where they can't even fight back. It's a sport based on the way homeless men fight in an alley over a pack of cigarettes.
Finally the delusional, ugly, stupid fraud Shields loses. Unfortunately it was against a journeyman MMA fighter - I would have preferred to see her lose in boxing!
