Whenever an MMA fighter vs Boxer fight is brought up, the argument from boxing supporters is the superior punching skills of the boxer would negate the other skills of the MMA fighter.
The truth is MMA fighters know how to take a punch, they do it often and on the receiving end of 4oz gloves so a closer approximation to a bare fist. What no boxer is used to is a swift kick to the legs which can be debilitating if you haven't spent a significant time condition your legs.
In a street fight between the the two a kick to the boxers legs would probably immediately send them to the ground.
Even if a top UFC fighter came into boxing, and started winning? I would not be bothered, as I do kind of like the cross over matches 'But I think it is fair to have those fights happen inside a boxing ring' because boxing is not a alien discipline to Mixed Martial Art fighters etc.
All of these debates originate from 'People in the Mixed Martial Arts world believing? They are the more superior athletes, the most feared athletes on the face of the planet' This is the attitude which the sport installs in its participants 'On all levels' it is apart of the culture.
I have come across this culture in my life 'Boxing does not have that same culture'.
Of course you will have the occasional boxer finding some success in the octagon or the occasional mixed martial artist finding some success in the ring.
I am saying on an overall basis, they are different sports with different sets of rules, regulations, and disciplines and when the 2 go head to head, boxers will tend to win in boxing matches and UFC fighters will win in UFC fights. I think that’s a pretty rational viewpoint.
But I do believe most of the back and forth of this “boxing vs UFC” was initiated by fans and practitioners of UFC. They seem to have a huge disrespect for boxing as a sport and as a discipline. They seem to be very conceited when speaking about it.

That's not going to happen. Not on a respectable level. Boxing and striking in MMA are totally different.
Stupid comparison. James Toney was WELL past his prime. He was nothing more than a blown up and out of shape middleweight and over a decade removed from top form.
McGregor was and still is near his prime and in top shape and condition.
These comparisons are stupid. Boxers win in boxing matches. MMA guys win in MMA matches. Each sport has their own respective fanbases and some people like to watch both.
In a real street fight, the first guy who resorts to dirty tactics (low blows, eye gouging, groin shots) will win. Street fights have no rules.
This thread is toxic and in all honesty, should be locked from further responses as it is a pointless thread that has been endlessly discussed countless times before.

That's a good question. For reference we've seen the top MMA guy Conor take TBE Floyd Mayweather to 10 rounds.
The top boxing guy James Toney got submitted in about 30 seconds when he tried MMA.

I don't understand this influx of mma supporters on here who don't like boxing. You like and prefer mma over boxing that's cool. I don't have a problem with that. Two different sports.
The one thing I find interesting is that from what I can see is that mma is all under one league with a huge promotion push. Imagine if Canelo, Anthony Joshua, Tyson Fury, Gennady Golovkin, Manny Pacquiao, Usyk, Inoue, Teofimo Lopez, Ryan Garcia and all the best boxers were under one company that would be insane.
The metric that I think is if something is insanely popular follow the money. Boxers are BY FAR higher earners than mma fighters.

Bingo. The fight last night between Khabib and Garth was a great example of that.
Garth had an NCAA division 1 wrestling background, is a great MMA striker but he was ultimately lacking in BJJ which allowed him to get choked out.
I'm not a huge Khabib fan but he really had it all striking, wrestling and grappling, that is art.
I was surprised with how the stand up exchanges went. I thought Gaethje would have a major advantage there but Khabib held his own. And in the end Gaethjes wrestling background did absolutely nothing for him.
TikTok has a lot of traffic as well.
Translation: kids are dumb af
"my brand of face punching is more sophisticated and intelligent than yours"
Come on man lol.
Yeah but they adapt it to an MMA context and have to try and seamlessly blend it all together in one toolbox, which is an art in and of itself. Fedor who you already mentioned was a perfect example, how he would throw lighting quick flurries on the feet to get people to cover up and then would seamlessly lunge into grappling range, take opponents down and bombard them with strikes and sub attempts on the ground, it was all so fluid.

Funny Boxing is an art but Mixed Martial Arts aren't? LOL.
Yea its a mix of art forms. Mma is a system. its a ruleset that literally mixes other art forms. Top guys dont train mma thry train boxing muay thai wrestling bjj and many other art forms
Boxing is an art as are all single focus combat systems. When you lump them all together you rarely get a fighter that can keep up with the best of them in other sports. I think jon jones and fedor are the only great fighters the sport has seen that can transition well enough to not get humiliated in other combat sports

I have 67 amateur fights. I boxed for 10 years and competed in kickboxing and mma for 7 years. I’ve experienced every strike and form of combat there is. For you to sit here like a keyboard warrior psychic pretending to be able to predict the outcome of hypothetical combat is nothing short of cringe and comical. Stop it kid. Anything can happen in a fight and to attempt to discredit some of the toughest, well conditioned, lethal strikers in a fight is a joke. Fuk outta here.
- -Understand he's an impressionable kid.
Not his fault he's at the stupid age. He'll grow up, hopefully with teeth intact and brains not caved in.

So then identify yourself, tough guy? You resent the keyboard mentality because you know, you're totally not a part of that. So a simple name drop shouldn't be hard, let me take a look at your badass credentials.
That 'incredible combat iq' is only geared for punching. Any fighting that goes beyond the use of fists and their iq drops to ******ation levels with all due respect.
Even the small amount of grappling boxers do, is suicide against MMA fighters. Boxers clinch and give up underhooks. They basicely help the MMA fighter to take them down. Lol.
If the fight is stand up, the boxers gets his legs kicked and then eats a headkick which he won't see coming after all the low kicks. KO. Have you ever eaten a debilitating kick to the legs from a trained kickboxer with conditioned shins? I wish all you boxing guys did.
Literally everything you said is wrong.

Boxing is an art form. Takes real skill and dedication. In Boxing we abhor the clinch. In MMA, if in doubt, just clinch a man, roll to the floor and hump him for 5 minutes. Nobody wants to see that. One time in a bar fight (that I didn't start, in my younger days), I missed a punch but caught the man with the point of my elbow and knocked him spark out. It was poor form on my part, and bad timing, because I was drunk. But it done the job just the same. As I say, bad timing on my part. In MMA that would have been called a "great strike!" :lol1:
Floyd made the clinch into an art form. lol (Andre was no slouch at it either.)

But boxers can take an upper cut to the balls better
