I’m a Brit and football (soccer) is the most popular sport. I find it incredibly boring.
I’m only really interested in fighting sports- Boxing and MMA. Grand slam tennis is can also be fun.
Anyway where does boxing rank for you ?
How easy it is to watch boxing in Italy? Do any networks show the fights ?
Oh, the only way to watch boxing here is via streaming services like DAZN, Fite, ecc. And very often there is no way to watch a match legally. Showtime for example is not available in my country.
Boxing is very unpopular here.
Boxing is the only sport I follow. It's ingrained in me and I don't think it will ever lose its number one spot. I casually watch MMA, but the grappling truly takes away too much of the entertainment factor for me. Would probably feel differently if I ever trained in some sort of grappling discipline.
Boxing is number 1 for me. No other sport is as good as a great fight in Boxing.
Show me anything better than Gatti-Ward round 9, Morales-Barrera 1 or Corrales-Castillo 1 in any other sport or combat sport.
Why did you stop watching MMA if you don’t mind me asking ?
I grew up on the Pride MMA days.... After awhile all they guys I loved retired and I couldn't keep up with the new guys so I slowly stopped watching
I check out highlight s from time to time
i started watching anything in 1991.
1. football/soccer is by far my favourite sport to watch and play. i am a historian too. almost 15 000 matches watched.
2. tennis
3. boxing right now but it wasn't so high until this decade
after that are basketball, nhl for a while and volleyball.
my favourite sport for watching in person is women's volleyball though.
I would say that my “favorite” tends to go through cycles between the following sports depending what mood I’m in and just how good the action/rivalries/matchups are at any given time.
Football/Soccer
Boxing
UFC
Baseball
I also enjoy Golf and Nascar, but only follow the big events.
Basketball and American Football are not particularly interesting to me, although I like when someone makes a long buzzer beater or a long Hail Mary touchdown catch and will definitely watch highlights like that.
Olympics can also be fun especially the Winter events.
Dunno... Eddie was a bouncer in his youth and was most probably a bit of a nasty bastard, rough area Stoke.
Both huge men, will probably be awful to watch with a few punches between frantic clinches.
Boxing is number 1 when it is a well matched fight with exciting fighters, I will no longer watch 12 rounds of pitty pat and ****e under cards.
UFC is number two, has really grown on me the last few years.
Football (soccer) tied with NFL, I was a die hard Newcastle fan growing up but it’s loosing its appeal for me.
4th/edging 3rd any strength sports , strong man, Olympic lifting, bodybuilding ( my background )
Rugby union internationals.
Athletics
Snooker/darts
That’s about it.....
Boxing is definitely #1 for me.
I'll mainly watch the NFL when I'm with my buddies because they're die hard football fans ( but they've become Boxing fans ).
Basketball - don't watch it anymore.
I'll watch a UFC replay on occasion if I hear it was a good fight.
All other sports don't interest me.
I'm big on skateboarding (some snowboarding). Boxing was my favourite sport but the warring promotions, "marination", toxic fanbases, ducking and thorough shadyness of it all has made it lose its sheen for me. I don't enjoy MMA as much, but at least UFC makes the big fights happen and as often as possible.
