Munguia is bad, but O'Sullivan is worse. Lemieux did not even land clean against him and he had the motor skills of a newborn fawn for about 30 minutes afterwards.
I cannot argue with that. He has terrible technique, he is uncoordinated and sloppy. On the other hand that right hand of his is like a lightening bolt. That one punch power has turned a D level (un)skilled fighter into a world champion.
Tyson would have steamrolled Wilder. Tyson would be the worst type of opponent that Wilder could ever face. Wilder would be wiped out within 2 rounds.
You people have no idea how weak this current era of heavyweights are. Put on some damn fights from the late 80's to late 90's if you want to see some talent.
Even if he was knocked down it was no big deal. He was not really hurt by it and continued fighting normally. Fighters get stung in the ring in basically every fight.
I had enough of Broner. Greatest underachiever in boxing these past few years. The last fight where he actually fought hard was against Maidana. Ever since then everyone tells him, throw more punches, but he just doesn't. LOL he can just go away.
It was no masterclass. He did well though. I think it was more of AJ summoning his Irish Gypsy heritage and going back to the basics of boxing like Tyson Fury does. That is how he was able to get past the determined Puerto Rican this time around.
I really want to see Teofimo vs Lomachenko. But they better stack the undercard if they are expecting people to pay for it.
Either that or sell the PPV at a lower price, something like $39.95
If not I imagine that many people will seek alternative ways of watching the fight.
Even though that makes total sense, we will not see it. $39.95 would be a perfect price point for all PPVs. Basically it would be the cost of going to the movies. It would also make many streamers say hell with it $40 isn't crazy money and it is better than searching for a stream that might not even work.
Fights at the movies are $40 for you? Its $20 for me out here in California.
No I meant going to the actual movies and getting popcorn, pop and other snacks.
Anyone remember Ultimaboxa? Was paid to post pro-Mundine things, bit of a loon
LoL he finally left when bigpoppapump changed his name to dicksucka h0m0 thug LOL
How can you have any respect for that...GGG doesn't have much fights left and he is still adding more garbage to his resume....ffs
GGG wanted to fight Cortez, as Cortez is the second best middleweight from Mexico. Cortez though lost to that polish monster so GGG has to face him instead. :stooges:
Donaire was a monster himself in his prime, but also not nearly as cagey and smart in the ring as he is now.
He has made adjustments the last few years and it gave his career an extension. That does not make him a guaranteed victor if you chop off these last 10 years of experience he has gained.
David Lemieux. He has the tools to be Champion, but is just too uncoordinated and undisciplined. It is all about his power instead of setting up that power.
No fighter today will willingly take part in a fixed fight. Money is not a motivator over pride. Back in the day fights were fixed because the fighters knew their own or families health were at risk due to Mob involvement.
Kov lost because he is shopworn, cherrypicked and well known to gas out in the second half of a fight.
Man. Kovalev and his team were shook the moment Canelo called his name. His whole strategy revolved around his survival, protecting his body and eeking out a victory. Ward took his Kov soul. He needs to leave Buddy McGirt and hook up with Virgil Hunter to get his soul back
No he does not need to switch trainers. He either should retire or just accept the fact that he is now a gatekeeper. He has been a gatekeeper for a while now.
There was a time when the Davis hype was justified. He was coming up quick and looking impressive. Then, he stopped progressing in comp. "He young doe" was the excuse. But, what's the excuse now?
I hear after Gamboa they have Terrance Alli lined up for him.
He got rag-dolled at a high rate of speed and met the pavement. He is banged up. Soft tissue damage galore. As long as no bones were broken and no tendons or ligaments got badly damaged he will be back. He might not be the same though as life altering events like that can change an outlook on life.
So he forgot how to throw power jabs from the very first bell? Needed to measure distance? Made himself fight short and small instead of tall and reach, as he did his whole career?
Have you not noticed the trend lately? Ever since the second Ward fight he has been so tentative in the ring that he is afraid to put mustard on his punches. He knows himself how vulnerable he is in that he is afraid of getting countered. He simply is not the same fighter he used to be. He has no confidence in his ability to take punishment.
Head and joint injuries would be the deciding factors if he ever fights again.
Broken bones heal, road rash heals, 95% of injuries heal. Joint injuries never heal to 100%. They are career altering for any athlete. Head injuries are self explanatory. If we get wind of torn ACL or cartilage damage to his knees, even if he does come back, he will not be the same fighter.
come on mang.. i am jewish.. i do not do christmas.. say a kind word to me too. shalom....
i always wanted to be a christian.. but never got around to it... my bad.. i miss out year after year.....
Happy Hanukkah my brother.
That's pretty ****ing shady of Jacobs......
We see this stuff all the time in boxing. Once those big paydays start rolling in, the fighters greed exponentially increases along with them. They forget all about being a team. They forget all about who was with them every step of the way.
You meant Lou Dibella and the answer is yes. It was during the first Bowe/Golota I bout in Madison Square Garden in 1996 where Andrew Golota got disqualified for low blows. It caused a full scale riot where people started storming the ring swinging.
No it was lou duva lol
The most important thing in life is being able to communicate. He was once in a vegetative state. He no longer is. That one step will make life so much more enjoyable for everyone involved.
If Joshua fights like he did tonight he will get knocked out vs Wilder. His best shot against wilder would be to attack hard early and take his chances. He cannot wait around as Wilder will land that right hand eventually. Early slugfest is very winnable for Joshua. 50-50
So it looks like he struggled to get a SD in what was probably supposed to be a gimme fight vs Maksym Bursak. Though he looked like a durable opponent on paper but this is all boxrec warrior speculation.
Anyone catch the fight? I doubt it since it was on some weird extremely niche streaming service that only seems to show French Canadien cards but figured I'd post anyway. There's dozens of worse threads posted on the weekends lol.
I read about it. Apparently Lemieux was down in the 1st and 5th and Bursak was down in the 6th. Bursak is durable and Lemieux was 15 months out of the ring. Still not a great start though LOL.
