I just think Wilder is too damn fast, strong, and powerful for a guy like Tyson. Tyson was much more talented and more skilled, but Wilder's power would be a difference-maker.
I rank Tyson and Wilder really close to each other on the all time heavyweight list. Tyson probably 12th or 13th, Wilder probably 14th or 15th. So I think Tyson wins 11 out of 20 times.
Wilder would not have been able to land a glove on prime Tyson. Mike would have blasted him on the inside and chin-checked him in the first round or two. Wilder would be on wobbly legs until he finally gets KO'd in early to mid rounds.
f millennials don't know **** about this.
Tyson would have taken less than a round to KO this Wilder guy.
He has no defense whatsoever when people come at him. Tyson was fast coming in and as much as I hated Tyson, he would have had an easy night against this fool. Also Lennox and Holy. This guys is just fighting tomato cans and the only real boxer(Fury) he fought, he lost the f fight.
Imagine Fury with a little pop, lol, Wilder out on a stretcher.
Wilder will always have a puncher's chance, but against a prime Mike tyson he gets annihilated 99/100.
Later in his career Mike had problems against taller, high skill fighters, specifically ones that had a terrific jab. Wilder's jab is average on a good day, on a bad day (ie when he gets swarmed), his jab is non existent. Wilder's large reach will work against him against someone like Mike.
Plus I'm not sure why everyone forgets how good Mike's head movement was in his early years. There's a good chance that Wilder doesn't land a single punch on him.
Mike's fans always either making excuse for his failures or over hyping his skills.
Fast hands and shlt.
When his heart was tested, those fast hands deceived him.
And here is when those excuses pop up.
IM not a mike fan. I wanted him to lose real bad when he was koing everyone in a round.
21 to 25 he was physically the greatest heavyweight of all time as a puncher and offensive fighter. Post prison only very good.
Wilder not good enough boxer to question Tysons heart in prime. Only landing one good right hand In 6 rounds like he did Ortiz wont cut it.
people who say this either dont have a clue or are trolling. Wilder might be heavy-handed but he hasnt exactly fought guys with serious power, certainly not someone as explosive as Prime Tyson.
Stylistically Tyson is a nightmare for Wilder who throws long looping punches. Prime Tyson with that Dempsey roll cut the distance down fast and ko's Wilder in under 5 rounds.
And for people mentioning the size, here is Wilder fighting a Russian who I believe is a similar size to Tyson but no where near as fast or as explosive: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ugc3ezFPqek
Mike Tyson would tire out just like Ortiz did, then his defense and offense would get sloppy.. before you know it, it's Ortiz vs Wilder #2 ALL OVER AGAIN.
tyson was faster, stronger, and was a bigger hitter with everything but a long right hand.
the only issues tyson would have are the height and his own stamina . if wilder did somehow develop skills and nuances in clinching and walking his man to the ropes he could tire tyson out relatively quickly and then he'd have a shot.
i know this damn game.

1986-1990....Let's see who Mike tested his talents on
Damn, Mike had a very busy 1986 !!!!
TeamTyson was lining bums up
How they led to title fights is beyond me.
Oh, wait, THE CHAMPS were garbage :lol1:
Berbick, Smith and Tucker (Tucker the 'best' of them)....
Wilder, AJ, Ruiz, Ortiz, Povetkin, Usyk, Parker....all would have done just as good if they had Tyson's opponents.
How can Mike's fans not see this ? To hail his resume is to hail every resume that ever was.
No ''may'' about it. They WERE Bums.
My sister throws straight punches too :lol1:
Everyone Mike beat before he faced Berbick were the definition of shlt. Usyk would have beaten them all. Shot Qwai would have beaten them all. Beyond shot Bobby Czyz would have beaten them.
Nothing special about anyone Mike fought before fighting Berbick.
Berbick can be ranked as one of the worst to ever be HW Champ. Prime Tyson was like a bully in a playpen.
Very solid points, green K
''Young Tyson''......
People criticize other guys for having soft fights to begin a career and was protected. This pretty much defines ''young'' Mike.
26 fights in and maybe Ferguson is his best win ?
Are we implying Wilder wouldn't have ended those same 26 no hopers ?
No I’m saying young Tyson the fighter would have beaten Wilder. People forget how good he was regardless of age.
Styles make fights and young Tyson would have been a bad matchup for any version of Wilder.
Wilder is a limited fighter blessed with great power in one hand. 20 year old Tyson was a complete fighter that had KO power in both hands.
How can you in good faith compare Wilder with those nobodies ?
If you're hyping up Mikes power with those guys.........
Ok, you think Mike beats Wilder but you chose those bums :lol1: ?!?!?!?!
https://boxrec.com/en/proboxer/24030....smh
They may be bums but they threw straighter punches. I like wilder. But I think the current crop of hws mistly stink.
It's one excuse after another when it comes to Mike :lol1:
Mike didn't have to fight wars like almost everyone else did. He faced one bum after another.
In your head, see how far Mike would have went if he fought who Holy and Lenny fought (I'm already assuming you'd think Mike blasts all of them out).
My topic is about mike’s prime, and his best days was when he was 21-24... and many would agree with me here. And if you don’t —i will not get it— but it’s okay.. :)
After those years admiring mike was just pure nostalgia.. hence still the ppv successes
he would never land that right. Tyson was succeotable to uppercuts. Not looping right hands coming from yesterday. Look at the Reggie Gross or Michael Johnson fights. That is Wilders fate. Tyson counters those windmills and puts him away.
Maybe it was a bad angle but Wilder punch live i didnt even see it he doesnt throw those looping windmills anymore.

I hate these theoretical matchups because it's 100% opinionated whether or not you like the fighter or not. I mean, you got a few that aren't actually biased and can try to come up with simulated answered result. Though the majority will lay out the entire game plan in about 8 words of what the one guy will do to the other.
Tyson was exciting as all hell in his prime. I think the entire world knows that. Wilder CAN be exciting (wasn't really last night). Why not leave it that they are both exciting fighters for their time and give the fans their money worth (usually). The debates of who would beat who can go on for life.
sometimes i wonder if Tyson fans are just a legion of manlets who are clinging to his short glory run as some type of comfort in their physical disability. you can feel the seething disdain they have toward Wilder. BIG MAN FALL HARD LOLZ! THE TALLER HE IS THE HARDER HE FALLS LMAO!

:nana:Lewis fought 1 more time and then retired @ age 38
Holy was mid 30's when he 1st fought Mike who had just turned 30.
That jail stint only put off the inevitable beatings he would have caught sooner. As ''talented'' as Mike was, he was also very flawed.
Mike primed early. his best version was his 21-24 years.. it doesn’t even compare to what he was when he turned 30.
It’s like saying “oh roy jones should’ve beaten a 46 year old hopkins coz he’s much younger.”
Defensive styles last longer in this sport and ages gracefully.. or at least most in history.
Age shouldn’t just be the only factor when comparing fighters primes..
Plus wilder hasn't koed anyone who had a reputation for great chin. Do you think vitali, holyfield, mercer couldn't take that shot ortiz succumbed to?
Has ortiz ever been known to have a chin
Don’t think so. Young Tyson was a complete fighter. He would have stayed inside and used his head movement and footwork.
Wilder is too basic for prime Tyson. He just reaches that left and loads up on the right. I understand that people are prisoner of the moment, but young Tyson for about 3 years was an all timer. Wilder is not in that class.
