While Thurman was getting it handed to him, that was a dirty stoppage.
I respectfully disagree. I thought the stoppage was excellent. Keith was about to be very severely hurt. The writing was on the wall
I don't think anyone has asked him yet because it's too easy to predict what he'll say. He'll find some way to downplay Margarito's win to make himself look better. Mayweather doesn't have anything positive to say about guys who he's ducked.
Chad Dawson, Glen Johnson, and Antonio Tarver can beat Calzaghe.
One of the dumbest statements I may have heard on the history of this board.
While I wish Calzaghe would not retire, there really is no one else for him to fight. If he fights Johnson or Tarver he gets the same "oh you beat someone who was past their prime" BS, and if he beats Dawson he gets the "oh you beat a young guy who beat a couple 40 year old has-beens."
Calzaghe has nothing left to prove, he is an all time great and really impressed me tonight. There is really no one out there who can beat him right now. Time to hang them up and call it day while on top.
why do some of the ppl that hype his kessler win as the best, want to downplay a potential matchup with dawson?
For one, I said nothing about Kessler. Dawson got a gift decision against Johnson, and Calzaghe would absolutely embarass him.
he should have lost to hopkins and was almost ko'd against jones and tarver doesnt even have a chance? get real and the answer is ernest "too slick" johnson.
He clearly beat a game Hopkins. He was not even close to being KO'd against Jones... did you watch the fight? Tarver is a has been, and Dawson got a gift against a 40 year old Glen Johnson. I can't even believe this is being debated.
I did not mean you personally i meant generally ppl on this board. you never praised his kessler win though? if he would embarrass him why not do it in wales as farewell then?
There is no money or a big public interest in that fight. The only reason Dawson is being brought up is because there is literally no one else for Calzaghe to fight. If Dawson struggled with Johnson, imagine what Joe will do to him. It'll be Calzaghe-Lacy all over again.
I had it 115-113 Holyfield. So it was a close fight with a lot of close rounds that was difficult to score. Especially in front of the tele.
The robbery cry here on NSB right now is kinda lame.
The question one gotta ask oneself is: Could you see the other guy winning? Although I had Holyfield winning, I can understand the 2 judges that saw it differently.
For Valuev to LOSE 115-113 would be a GIFT to him. Were you watching the same fight? Holyfield won 8 rounds minimum! Holyfield landed some monster hooks, and Valuev landed a handful of jabs all damn night. Absolutely horrendous decision.
I don't know man - the guy who was announcing the fight sounded like the biggest Roy fan to ever exist. I could barely watch the fight the guy was so f-cking annoying.
This thread has got to be a joke. What does Bradley have to do to get any credit?
Khan would probably get KO'd with that glass jaw of his. If he didn't, Bradley would outwork him just like he always does.
Here we go again. Bradley dominated tonight. He made it look easy as another post mentioned. Yet here you guys are, giving him ZERO credit. He was brilliant tonight, he earned it and he needs recognition - he is easily top 10 p4p. Watch the Pacquiao fight again with the sound off. It was closer than I originally thought. I had it a blowout for Pac the first time, and when I watched it again I scored it a draw. After watching Bradley outwork Marquez easily, it made me think that maybe Pac will have his hands full against Rios.... Regardless, Bradley made it happen tonight, and Bradley deserves respect and recognition. He gets the job done no matter what.
Marquez clearly lost, and Marquez is a sore, whining loser along with people who keep starting these garbage threads. Bradley continues to be disrespected and it's getting old.
I gotta say - I stand corrected. I just watched the fight again, in full. I scored it 114-114 and had the sound turned off. Bradley outworked Pac, and Pac banked on the fact that he could work for only the last 1/3rd of the round and win it. Pac landed the more powerful shots and did hurt Bradley on occasion, but he missed a lot of wild shots and wasn't busy enough. Bradley did not have much steam on his shots early on, but he scored more than I originally thought. Bradley also won the last 3 rounds in a row. I remember being completely convinced that this fight was an obvious robbery, and I'm glad to say I've changed my stance.
Not even comparable to the Mayweather-Canelo fight.
pac rounds: 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 9
bradley rounds: 2, 7, 8, 10, 11, 12
If Pacquiao loses to Rios, he's completely done. But if he comes in and demolishes him in a few rounds, I don't see why he isn't back to where he was before Marquez. We all know Marquez and Pacquiao have each others number.
The irony of this thread is that OP knows so little about boxing. He doesn't realize that while he is trying to knock the undefeated multiple division champion future hall of famer & former Olympic medalist Floyd Mayweather. It IS ACTUALLY Pac whose best win was against a SHOT Delahoya that Maywaeather had already beat. LOL!!!
***** is soo funny!
Whats funny is how quickly you jump to putting down Pac when its the biggest fight to be made in the sport. The most money to be made, and the biggest interest from the boxing public. Go ahead and keep making excuses about how Floyd can get away with avoiding this fight. He would win the damn fight and shut everyone up. Fact is and always will be that he has infinite excuses. His name is forever linked to Pac due to his ridiculous avoidance of the fight.
Pac obviously fought a deteriorated version of Oscar too. Except he easily KOed him.fact of the matter is that Floyd is obviously ducking Pacquiao, no matter how you look at it.
Why the desperation to defend Floyd and talk about how he doesnt need Pac when its the biggest fight in boxing? This is a no brainer. The fight should happen and it will haunt Floyd the rest of his life if he doesn't push for it.
I love watching Floyds fights. Hes a master of his craft. Its simply hard for me to root for a guy who avoids the biggest challenge of his career.
Khan glass jaw = YES
Khan careless in the ring = YES
Khan not even in the same class as Mayweather = YES
This fight is easier to predict than Tyson vs. Mcneely and is an absolute waste of money. I refuse to buy this garbage fight, and so should you.
I had it a draw, it was much closer than HBO led us to believe. Bradley hung in there with him, but when Pac actually threw punches he did more damage than Bradley. Bradley cannot hurt Pac, but he can outwork him, and if he did it the first time, it will only be easier this next time. The rematch is a very winnable fight for Bradley.
I was having a hard time watching it for the first few rounds because I felt the same way. It almost seemed like Angulo was not there to fight. He did pick it up in the middle rounds and later in the fight, but yeah, it didn't seem like there was a lot on his punches. Very odd.
This is a sh1t fight, but right now there is nobody left for floyd beside Bradley and Pac. And with the war between Top Rank and GDP, well...
Totally agree. He should just retire at this point since he refuses to do business with Top Rank.
Maidana doesn't win against technically skilled guys - including Khan, Alexander and even Kotelnik. Those guys aren't even close to Mayweather's level. This is not a fight and should be on regular Showtime. Why pay to see this? I'll watch it later for free and save my money. The casual fan has no idea who Maidana is. This fight will lose money and is a major step backward in competition.
If Floyd refuses to fight Pacquiao or Bradley he should just honestly retire because there isn't anyone left unless Floyd grows old overnight.
