I just can't understand why this guy who claims to be #1, the best, won't fight who everyone thinks is currently the biggest threat to him, on top of it being the biggest money fight (possibly of all time). His excuses are utter BS, no matter if you are a fan of his or not. He's been caught way too many times in public with millions of excuses about Pac, even his own fans can't deny that. First the testing, then his health is more important, then he claimed he was coming for Pacquiao and quickly denied ever saying it even though it was caught on video.
:wtf1:
Look at his record.... it's impressive yes, but his best win is against an over the hill De La Hoya, who he beat on the cards by one single round.
Mayweather will always be remembered for how he wouldn't fight Pacquiao. It would be like Muhammad Ali refusing to fight Joe Frazier or George Foreman, meanwhile parading around saying he was better than them. Give me a break... this guy is no 'all time great' if he refuses to fight the best out there. Amir Khan? Give me a break!
The saddest part about all of this - Mayweather would win the fight!
I dont disagree that there were more lucrative fights for odh to take.
fyi I think Floyd's win vs Delahoya is still really good considering Oscar looked great against Mayorga, no one ever did that to him not even Cotto or Mosley afterr
prime oscar was late 90s. How was Floyd ever going to get that one when his biggest win was hernandez who Oscar already stopped years before Floyd?
oscar had bigger fish to fry. thats about as dumb as saying floyd ducked prime Tszyu

not really. according to bob/odh/floyd floyd had been asking to fight odh since he signed with TR. He kept moving up hoping to secure a bout. obviously floyd ddn't draw/earn enough for the fight to happen.

Prime Oscar was a different era to Mayweather

would've been nice if prime oscar gave floyd the chance. There is a reason ODH waited. It wasn't because he thought he was going to murk floyd.

Prime Oscar murks both Prime Floyd and Prime Manny, whats the shame there?

Oscar chose Manny so let's get that out of the way. Did anyone say that De La Hoya was Mannys best win? No.
Imagine if Floyd fought a prime Oscar? I can't see him winning that, and Floyd was pretty prime when he fought Oscar.
Let the *****s hate, but that's the truth. Prime Oscar beats prime Floyd.

Floyd's biggest fight was with oscar, but not his best win..
1. corrales
2. genaro
3. JLC
4. hatton
5. canelo
6. oscar
and it's a shame that his top 3 wins were... uhm .. when were they again?
The irony of this thread is that OP knows so little about boxing. He doesn't realize that while he is trying to knock the undefeated multiple division champion future hall of famer & former Olympic medalist Floyd Mayweather. It IS ACTUALLY Pac whose best win was against a SHOT Delahoya that Maywaeather had already beat. LOL!!!
***** is soo funny!
^^^^^^^^^^^
this kid is trippin! Mannys best win(s) were vs Hatton and Cotto
you are the one who knows very little about boxing if you think oscar was mannys best win. I think you are forgetting a true mexican or two kid, go and educate yourself.
fighters can remain undefeated if they avoid the best in their prime like kostya, margo, cotto, mosley, williams and pac. all guys who when at their best were ducked by floyd
when floyd fought oscar, it was when oscar was coming off a huge lay off and a bs fight in mayorga, oscar was also past his prime, at his best he would have defeated floyd
That Oscar floyd fought is still better than the injury ridden Tszyu that Hatton had beaten. tszyu had like one fight in 2 years. educate yourself.

Ok and? He does it to Manny too and everyone that those guys beat from 135 - 154
Pac obviously fought a deteriorated version of Oscar too. Except he easily KOed him.fact of the matter is that Floyd is obviously ducking Pacquiao, no matter how you look at it.
Why the desperation to defend Floyd and talk about how he doesnt need Pac when its the biggest fight in boxing? This is a no brainer. The fight should happen and it will haunt Floyd the rest of his life if he doesn't push for it.
I love watching Floyds fights. Hes a master of his craft. Its simply hard for me to root for a guy who avoids the biggest challenge of his career.
Floyd and his team did everything possible to make the biggest fight in history happen. Even Pac's team knew that.
Floyd wanted BOTH of them to take the same random drug test. Not just Manny. Why do people keep glossing over that? 'Cause it's convenient?
It would've been the biggest, highest grossing fight, which for the first time, included mandatory random drug testing from both fighters.
Again, BOTH fighters would take the test. Not just one.
Drug testing was a no-no to Bob and Manny. Wonder why?
After all the delays and excuses coming from the Pac camp, and the subsequent lawsuit instead of getting in the ring and fighting, it was obvious to Floyd Bob and Manny didn't want anything to do the fight.
Floyd has chosen to stop wasting time playing games and moved on, and his legacy will still be intact without Pac.

Whats funny is how quickly you jump to putting down Pac when its the biggest fight to be made in the sport. The most money to be made, and the biggest interest from the boxing public. Go ahead and keep making excuses about how Floyd can get away with avoiding this fight. He would win the damn fight and shut everyone up. Fact is and always will be that he has infinite excuses. His name is forever linked to Pac due to his ridiculous avoidance of the fight.

You can say that again, Roger.
The same folks claiming Oscar was shot were the same ones who claimed that Oscar would Knock Floyd TFO before the fight, Forgetting how Oscar requested and was granted every advantage while he held the WBC Light Middle Weight title.
Now, the same folks who are desperately begging for Floyd to fight Manny were the same ones who claimed Manny was "too small" for Floyd, and that taking blood from Manny makes him weak before fights.
Manny ran from Floyd for years over drug testing, now all of a sudden Manny can fight with blood tests before fights.
You guys are comical. The story is same.
