lol funny how everybody who's saying ORTIZ vs MAYWEATHER is better are the same thats been saying Pac been ducking marquez. Now that he fights him Marquez is old. LOL dummbbassesssss.
Hopkins is still making history while Calzaghe will vanish from history very soon. What sucks for Calzaghe is his GREATEST win is a SPLIT DECISION lol. Hopkins Greatest wins are dominating wins over top Champions. So tell me who's greater. Plus Hopkins won the Calzaghe fight. Everybody knows it.
The guy is a blown up Lightweight, it's amazing he even fought Cotto in the first place.
We should be thankful he was willing to step up a weight again, Chavez didn't go to Welterweight but no one cries about that... No one makes a big deal of Chavez vs Whitaker catchweight either.
If you want to crown someone the "catchweight king", look no further than Bernard Hopkins. He has not once but THREE times fought smaller fighters at catchweights, De La Hoya, Wright and Pavlik.
He made Oscar, a career Welterweight fight him at 158 lbs catchweight (who cares about the belt, robbery), made Winky Wright fight him at 170 (10 lbs above his highest weight) and Kelly Pavlik too. He also made Calzaghe move up but that backfired on him.
1st off Hopkins didn't have Oscar move up to fight him. Oscar went to middleweight then Oscar made hopkins fight at a catchweight of 156pounds. Kelley Pavliks 2nd Taylor fight was at 166 i believe. and he won that fight. And Winky Wright challenged Hopkins, and it was a match that should of happened when Hopkins was middleweight king and Wright was junior Middleweight king. But no matter the weight Hopkins vs. Wright ends the same way and is an ugly style match up for both, but a Prime for Prime fight Hopkins wins a more comfortable decision. Calzaghe was already moving up in weight to light heavy because he couldn't make Super Middle no more.
So really only wright and Pavlik moved up in weight to fight him. ANd Pavlik wanted Hopkins and ended up with an ass whoopin after saying he was going to knock him out.
But you are right about Pacquiao. He only really had one catchweight fight and now everybody says he drains his opponents lol
They're getting along better now, why is Roger still his trainer and not Sr?
You want him to be trained by someone he has trouble getting along with?
Because they just started getting along after he came back from retirement. And plus he didn't train him because Floyds bitch ass retired from the big tough challenges. So how could you even train somebody when they are retired ???
Mayweather has the bigger Numbers PPV wise but i think its because he was against bigger names. I know him and Pacquiao fought both fought the same opponents like Hatton, Oscar, and Marquez, but Pacquiao fought Marquez before he started catching the public eye around the world. Pacquiao was only known to filipinos and boxing fans then. When FLoyd fought Marquez, they made it Floyds comeback plus Marquez was pacquiao's rival so of course it was going to sell. WHen he fought Oscar we were in the worst economic times in US History in the past 100 years and most thought the fight was going to be a mismatch because they thought pacquiao was to small so not that many people wanted to watch a mismatch. WHen FLoyd Fought Oscar, The Big numbers were more because of Oscar then Floyd even tho Floyd talked a lot of shit. WHen FLoyd fought Hatton, it was Hattons first BIG fight in the States so it was a USA vs Europe type of thing. WHen Pacquiao fought Hatton he almost did the same numbers.
Plus Floyd fought Oscar and Marquez on mexican Hollidays. But Pacquiao could sell more seats then Floyd. Look at all his fights with Marquez, Barrera, Morales, Hatton, De La Hoya, CLottley, Cotto. THose fights had an atmosphere that Floyd cannot bring to the table. I say that Floyd is the bigger draw by not that much on television but not Live action.
But in Reality if they want SUPER FIGHT numbers then they need eachother. with Eachother they could reach over 2 mil buys. without eachother they would keep getting around 1 mil buys which is still a payday
Zab a couple years ago would have gassed out in 4 rounds. Thats the knock was on him for the longest. And now that he is fighting to conserve his energy for later rounds, haters still hate. Zab is fighting smarter then he used to and is not losing energy or burning it like he use to.
De La hoya has a great chance if he boxes like he did the first 8 rounds against tito.
Trinidad would be a war and i Trinidad has the punch to KO hearns which i think Hearns gets him 1st.
Mosley has a good chin and if its the Mosley from the 1st De la hoya fight then its a Competitive fight with Hearns Decision.
Pacquiao against hearns would be a great fight but Hearns might be a little to tall for Pac to hit the head and Hearns throws an excellent jab so pac would be the underdog but you never could say never with Pacs speed but i'd still favor hearns.
cotto only has 1 loss ? lol so getting whooped by Pacquiao at a weight he agreed to and fighting at 146 lbs just before the Pacquiao fight against clottey makes him drained? lol some of yal are retarded. i could understand the margarito fight but Pac? lol always get discredited
Only Floyd dont want to see Floyd fight Cotto because "he is to skilled" or "way better" but in reality Cotto whoops on boxers and has more trouble with brawlers/punchers.
Every Boxer Cotto fought he whooped them.
So shut up with that Floyd is to skilled shitt because in that case Ali, Leonard, and Robinson shouldn't have fought nobody because nobody compared to them when it came to there skillset. lol IDIOT
i wouldn't buy that shirt but if somebody got it for me i would rock it infront of ALL my black homies lol and walk around in that shit and NOBODY would give a ****kkk. . because its funny lol
i agree Tyson is the better finisher but Pacquiao is being underrated as a finisher. Prime Tyson did make everybody look bad until he fought Buster.
Pacquiao can't knock nobody with one punch at 147 IMO but he can at 140. He has to hit you consistantly and then you start feeling it at Welterweight.
Tyson has the power to knock you out with one punch.
For all you Flomo's, just because Floyds abilities look better on PAPER doesn't mean he will win. Thats all you guys say is "floyd has better this and better that." Well Cotto is like a better version of Castillo and we all know what happen to Floyd in that 1st Castillo fight even Tho floyd had all the advantages on paper in terms of skill. Skill doesn't win matches all the time.
The only way to knock out Cotto is a ton of pressure. De La Hoya doesn't put on enough pressure to be able to wear him down and knock him out. But De La Hoya could outbox him. If Cotto could cut off the ring and get him on the ropes and pound 2 the body, then Cotto wins a decision. If its gonna stay in the middle, Prime De La hoya has faster hands and footwork. so it favors him
yeah but Packy is way too easy to hit and Oscar has some pop too
I see Hoya by KO 9th round if not sooner
packy has way too many holes in that D to be able to beat a prime Oscar but it would be a nice action packed fight
Packy isn't easy to hit. If he wanted to he could fight in and out all night but its just his warrior comes out of him and he goes toe to toe a lot.
lol
i always laugh at idiots who try to compare hagler fighting leonard and hearns to hopkins fighting tito and delahoya.
take aside the fact that we're talking about different levels of greatness among the fighters.
1. hagler is a small middleweight by today's standards.
2. leonard and hearns were huge welterweights even by today's standards.
size difference between hagler and hearns and leonard were minimal. in fact leonard and hearns had height advantages and reach advantages. (maybe leonard had the same reach not sure)
hopkins on the otherhand is a natural light heavyweight.
how are you a natural Light Heavyweight if you made Middle weight for 15 years? lol doesn't make sense.
I guess Berto is a natural Middleweight because thats the weight he started at.
And anybody who lost to Holyfield at Heavyweight sucks because he is a natural Cruiserweight.
And by your logic, Everybody that Leonard and Hearns beat at Welterweight is flawed because they aren't natural Welterweights. lol
Tito was a big WW 2. De La Hoya had a belt that Hopkins didn't have. Hopkins is the only man to TKO Johnson. In his prime he was unbeatable and untouchable, barely losing rounds in a ten year period. SO how is this guy not a legenD???
When a majority of all time great fighters are African American and Pac has never fought one, Its noticeable. An all-time grest should beat all styles of opponents not just one. Damn near all Pac opponents are slow, come forward brawlers wirh no D.
which ALL TIME great mexican fighters has Floyd fought and beat? De La Hoya only comes to mind and he loses all his big fights, Marquez is border line but That wasn't nowhere near a even fight with Floyd when he had to gain all that damn weight. Castillo and them were good fighters but not all time greats like pac has morales, barrera, de la hoya :border line Marquez.
Id love to see Pac vs any of those style of fighters wouldn't you? No what the fighters you mentioned have in common, other than being Black Americans, they are fast and dominant and would know how to deal and adapt to Pacs style.
Williams and Margaritos have similar styles
Pacquiao is knocking off Heads like a mini tyson
De La Hoya/Barrera/Morales are some of the best boxer/punchers of this era like other so called BLACK AMERICAN fighters.
Marquez is probably considered the 2nd best counter puncher of this era to Floyd.
so whats im trying to say is there is no such thing as a Black american style. Not all Black americans are slick. A lot of them fight Toe to Toe.
 I can't stop watching it. The way they just throw punches without even thinking about blocking or ducking is hilarious
and They still Missed most of their Punches lol **** was hella finny
Khan fought the most RELENTLESS POWERFUL PUNCHER in the division and Top 5 Puncher p4p in BOXING. Maidana is the **** and we all knew it was going to Be a fight. The difference between the Prescott and Khan fight is that Khan actually stood on his feet this time.
