Serious question. What does Floyd being a prick have to do with a boxing ring?
I'll wait...
Yeah, these folks confuse personality with ring skills, deep down they know Floyd is the truth inside that squared circle.
I hope he does, I really do. I also hope the PPV is a success. Im just not giving Floyd any of my money. I bought into his hype going into the Baldomir fight and was duped. I saw the play backs of his 3 fights since than and know I would have felt the same exact way. As great a fighter as he is, I don't like his personality and I find his style brilliant yet boring. He steals money, he said so himself. Im not gonna be a sucker who dishes out cash to be disappointed again.
"I find his style brilliant yet boring"? Really? Floyd cant help that he's just that much better than his opponents. Shane destroyed Margarito who destroyed Cotto, so if Floyd beats Shane with his 'Brilliant style' either by KO or UD how is that boring. Pac is a balls to the walls boxer/puncher who gets his face welted up on a regular. Exciting but technically stupid. Floyd on the other hand is pinpoint accurate, controls the pace of the fight, has excellent ring generalship, shuts down his opponents offense, is technically flawless & does this all while avoiding getting hit. What do you watch BOXING for? If i were a trainer i could only dream of having a fighter with the skills and abilities of Floyd. Nevertheless haters will always have something to gripe about. Floyd schooled Baldamir, destoyed Coralles(rip),whooped Zab, embarrassed Gatti(rip),Ko'd an undefeated Hatton, gave aboxing lesson to the P4P #2Marquez and on May 1, 2010 will absolutely demolished the tough P4P#3 Shane Mosley.
After years of hearing about Floyd being so called boring i finally figured it out.....Fighting Floyd is like fighting the computer when your're playing a video game....its not fair....he's just too good.
I'm going to pay my money to see the best boxer alive today.
In a no win situation? here is a thought, stop dragging small guys upto your weight class whilst simultaneously ducking the fighters in your own division, you only want to fight Shane BECAUSE! he is 38, YOU must have angles to every fight, THAT is why you dont get full props, same reason why the JMM was devalued, you pulled that shit at the weigh in to gain even MORE of an advantage.
Who did he duck in his own weight division? Did Floyd call out Marquez? Hell no. Did Floyd call out Hatton? Ofcouse he didnt, Hatton called him out, then got knock the f*ck out .When did Cotto call out Floyd? Never, Ofcourse . Floyd went up to 154lbs to fight Oscar. Floyd fought and whooped the previous champ Zab Judah then boxed the sh*t out of the lineal champ Baldomir who had just beat Zab. Who did he duck? Shane ducked Floyd twice and thats on record. Who did he duck? Mararito? Please. When Margarito wanted Floyd he was nobody, then got schoold by Paul Williams. Who did he duck? Back up you words with facts. Every fight that Floyd fought beside Marquez was a demand from the public. This fight with Shane is no exception.
Good analysis. I will agree with everything you said and if Shane can consistantley connect he can be successful. The thing about Floyd is he fights to the level of his opponent. Floyd was in no danger fighting Marquez and contrary to what many believe Floyd was toying with Marquez. After Marquez connected with that right hand in rd 2 you could see Floyd was pissed that he got hit so he dropped him with a perfectly timed left hook. Floyd was using a lazy high guard trying to invite Marquez in to the body so he can counter with the straight right but in perfect Marquez fashion he faked and came over top & tagged Floyd with the right. Also, im not sure which round it was in but Floyd tagged Marquez with the same beautifully quick right hook left uppercut combo that he used on Gatti. That combo seemed to be out of place in the fight. Nevertheless, the Marquez fight should have revealed the tools which will be the downfall of Shane...the left jab and superb reflexes of Floyd. I agree that Shane is fast and he has power but there are certain things that Shane does that Floyd will exploit over and over. Shane has to reset every time a jab is put in his face. He still has a bad habit of throwing wide hooks, often with his eyes closed. Shanes balance has deteriorated over the years and reflexes are not on the same level as Floyds. Taking out the Margarito fight look back at Shane vs Vargas, Mayorga and Cotto. Shane had trouble adjusting to these technically inferior( to Floyd) BOXERS. Floyd is the most technically gifted boxer alive.
Now i believe Shane can make it a tough fight for Floyd if he does everything perfect.. but i see him folding from frustation after he realized that he's in there with a boxing genious. Shane appears to be extremely confident and truely believes he's just and fast and as good a boxer as Floyd..
My question is what happens if he find out that not he case?
Good luck to both fighters, hopefully it will be an exciting fight!
Floyd is a COWARD for asking OSDT in the first place. Anyway where are you trying to go with this because I hope you know that Floyd wants nothing to do with Manny. Why do you think everybody is calling him a coward.
Floyd wants nothing to do with Manny??? Really? How do you figure that? Because he asked for random drug testing up until the fight and Pac keep refusing? Please! Maybe.. its because Pac ko'd Ricky Hatton who was 1st ko'd by Floyd when he was still undefeated? Or maybe its because Pac did so much better with Marquez than Floyd? Or, because Pac and Roach refused to fight Mosely (even at 142lbs) who was the #1 welterweight in the world, the same one who Floyd dusted? Oh i know, i know its because Pac hits way harder than Shane Mosley. Maybe its Pac's superior boxing skills. Lets see.. Ring smarts? NO. Footwork? No. Head movement? No. Defense? Hell no? Speed? Not really they're even in speed. Ring generalship? Please! How can Pac beat Floyd? Constant pressure? Work rate? Nope. Out boxing him? Never! Floyd has proven over and over again, he WILL adjust to what ever his opponent does. And before any idiot mention it, Floyd had a torn rotator cuff in the 1st Castillio fight, and to silence the critics he took an immediate rematch. Floyd is the best boxer alive...period! The stats don't lie. Pac is good but he's no Floyd.
You'll probably say ...well why wont Floyd just fight him and prove it.
I want to see this fight just as much as the next fan but im not the one in the ring and im not the one getting the money. All i know is that, if one man can ask for an unheard of, never before in the history of the sport $10,000,000 per pound weight penalty then the other should be able to ask for a little random drug testing. Coward? Really, a professional boxer who's been boxing since 4yrs old...a coward? Interesting.lol
How could any one continue to defend Floyd after a statement hes made that he is better then Sugar Ray Robinson..
Now I wasnt around when SRR was in the game but judging from his activity during his later years..

Sugar Ray Robinson fought 7 even 8 times in one year.. Floyd is NO WHERE NEAR as great as Sugar Ray Robinson...
How can one still defend Floyds ridiculous claims..
Why is it a ridiculous claim? First of all we have to clear one thing up. Floyd is not GREATER than Sugar Ray Robinson, Ali, Duran, Leonard, or for that matter Pac. They all had a bit more class. But in terms of being a better boxer.. Please!....its not even close. Floyd is the most technically gifted and accurate boxer to have ever lace up the gloves. Greatness is about how much you've accomplished and the heart you display while doing it. Best is about technicalities. Are you the best if you have a lot of heart but lack defense and true boxing skill? Of course not. Hit and not get hit is the name of the boxing game and no one past or present compares to Floyd. Stats dont lie and results against same era so call good fighters prove that point. Over and over again Floyd has shown why he's the best. The era of over 120 professional fights is over. Those fighters of the past were pioneers that introduced us to the wonderful sport of boxing but just like all other sports things change and athletes get more skilled. Skill for skill who in history compares to Floyd? Being a face forward fighter makes for exciting fights but being technically sound in all the skill levels makes you a complete fighter who wins fights.
You are right...Floyd is NO WHERE NEAR as great as Sugar Ray Robinson...but Floyd is absolutely without a doubt a better more skilled boxer than SSR.
Floyd does have skills, but would he be able to maintain his winning style for back to back fights? Floyds legacy will be filled with lots of What Ifs, How Comes? He will be remembered definitely but not in the way he wants or thinks.
True, he probably should have tested himself more. I believe he's the best ever and there is the question of how he would've done with more fights back to back. But to be honest the way he trains, i think its unrealistic to compare older fighters to him, he's a beast how he trains. He put his body through a lot over the years and his hands are brittle as hell. He's been boxing since age 4, to my knowledge that's not how the old school fighters did it. Were they tougher? Hell yeah. But those day were totally different, they had to fight a lot in order to make their money. But, realistically there's only about 3 fights that he probably should have taken to solidify his claim of greatness. Cotto, Margarito and probably a younger Shane. I personally think he would've been tested a little with Margarito at the time but would've still been victorious. Cotto never was a real threat in my eyes. And Shane never had good defense or head movement. The Floyd that came after the Oscar fight i believe is unbeatable right now. I think because of his defensive stance and pinpoint accuracy no one boxing right now can beat him especially Pac. But that another discussion.
punchingbag, it's not their lack of stamina, it's floyd's taking it away from them---the reason their output goes down is because of how great floyd counters them with both hands---against manny, i guarantee you if manny tries to overwhelm floyd with punches, he's getting a counter jab that will drop him on his ass-----that's the punch floyd will fukk manny up with--the counter jab over manny's jab---and if manny tries to lead with his left hand, he's getting a counter hook--
floyd is a mover in the ring due to the fact that he likes to utilize the space around him to set things up--this is why he's the best in the ring--he knows the ring better than everybody else--he knows how to use the ropes, and fight off of them so well--he knows how to get himself in trouble on the ropes while adapting to the punches, only to mislead the fighter into thinking that, that's where he wants to keep floyd, only to have floyd counter him off of the ropes after he moves just enough to position the opponent's body into a vulnerable angle--then he whacks them and takes their confidence from them---he will breka manny down and start toying with him after he gets into his zone---i'm not putting all of this down to lie to you people--i know how the fight will turn out--i just know---
i had majority of floyd's fights down to a tee---and know how manny fights also almost too well---manny would have to turn conservative to confuse floyd---but angle himself just enough to turn back to southpaw so floyd can miss him---manny better not stay southpaw against floyd---coz floyd turns southpaw also and he throws so sharp that you can't really notice the difference--this is why floyd is a thinking fighter--he knows timing is the best key in boxing and he owns that key---and that's the truth--he will time manny perfect--lead with right hand lead to the solarplex and throw combos at manny---like he's done with everybody else that was a left handed fighter---
manny is getting manhandled by floyd--real talk---hate it all you want--it's only a matter of time now---
You said it perfectly.
Pac is so much better than mosley in every other department except for power and it's not like pac's power is **** compared to mosley it's very close actually. Floyd would get overwhelmed by pac's offense. he either gets very defensive and drowns under pac's onslaught or fight and get destroyed.
Pac couldnt destroy Floyd in his dreams! How is Pac gonna overwhelm Floyd? Floyd has fast hands and faster reflexes than Pac? He also has a 5" reach ADVANTAGE over Pac. Every time Pac comes in Floyds gonna pop him. Pacs only hope is to try and set traps for Floyd and try to KO him inside of 3 rnds. If not its over, Pac will be embarrassed. Please dont let this Margarito fight cloud you judgment. Pac does nothing better than Floyd except may commit more on his punches thats it. How will Pac consistently hit the least hittable and most accurate boxer in history?
People need to understand that Shane drops Thor hammers and hits like a donkey. Pacquiao is an accumulation puncher. Mayweather has gotten hit by harder punchers then Pacquiao and Floyd never makes the same mistake twice in a fight.
http://dailycontributor.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/margarito-vs-mosley.jpg
Look at Margarito face, looks almost the same as when he came in the fight. This shows you he wasnt hit 1000x in the face but only a few times by some blunt force Mosley nukes.
http://cdn0.sbnation.com/imported_assets/590102/gyi0062457524_medium.jpg
Now this a pic of a usual Flat footed walk forward unintelligent Pacquaio opponent. Took an accumulation of punches by Pac more then Mosley ever hit him with. Didnt touch the canvas once. Floyd beats Pac easily honestly. Ima big Pac fan but he cant beat a cerebral athletic fighter Floyd. Floyd's gonna be poppin off straight rights and left hook combinations all night.
What Pac gonna do, use pressure?
http://threadbombing.com/data/media/20/ComingToAmericaLaugh.gif
Every Floyd Opponent use "Pressure" until they slow down thinking how are they gonna get passed that defense. Pacquiao is sloppy fighter as it is. He misses on these no defense slow opponents as it is. Little stuff like when Pacquiao jumps to his right after his jab (he'll be meet with a left hook) or how he leaves his hands down after after every combination his gonna pay for it. Hate to say it but its gonna be a one sided fight in Floyd's direction after the 5th round. Dont see how any real student of boxing could see it any different.
I agree 100%. Congrats to Pac though, for doing his job and whoopin Margs tale. You gotta like a guy that gives his all and puts on a good show for the fans. That being said.....Pac has never fought ANYONE even close to Floyds level. Floyd is the smartest boxer there is. His reflexes are superb and his overall skill set is absolutely unbelievable. Its sad that these ignorant Pacroids give a bad name to true Pac fans. As a true Floyd fan i can appreciate Pac's skills and heart. And even more so his personality, but when it comes to application of boxing skills...no one does it better than Floyd! Call him boring...he's still gonna win. Say he scared...he's still gonna win. Call him any names you want....he's still gonna win. When Pac and Floyd finally do fight...Pac's not gonna have a flat footed, no head movement, no defense having, slow, leaning forward, no reflexes having, previously KO'd boxer on his hands. He's going to have to deal with an extraordinary boxer with excellent ring generalship, perfect reflexes, fast hands, superb footwork, unmatched ring smarts and one who will have a 5" reach advantage over him. May the best man win.
MANNY IS P4P KING and fighter of the decade.
The boxing voices are all for PAC so who the hell can be against him?
The best boxer alive: Floyd Mayweather Jr.
I don't understand Mayweather fans... he's clearly ducked top competition in the past and very recently in Pacman. Shane Mosley is one of his biggest / only challenges as of late... how can anyone honestly support someone like that?
Is it because his nickname is Money? And he flashes bills?
Must be the same audience who bob their head to Gucci Mane...
Who did Floyd "clearly' duck?? Cotto? Cotto or no one from Cotto's team ever mentioned Floyds name. Shane? Please, the facts have proven over and over again it was Shane who ducked Floyd. Pac? Thats just idiotic! The random testing was in the contract from the very begining and Roach had no issues with it. As soon as Floyd agreed to all their demands then they started making up excuse after excuse all because of a 25million dollar drug test. Please! The only one that anyone can even claim Floyd avoided was the nobody Margarito. Floyd chose a somebody instead of a nobody..hmmm a clear duck. Wake up dude, stop believing the hype and do some research.
Floyd:
Whooped The lineal champ Baldomir, who had just beat Zab.
Ko'd undefeated Hatton who whooped Tszyu, and Castillo.
Spanked the peoples warrior Gatti(rip).
Demolished the undeafeated Corrales.
Beat the tough Castillio twice. The 1st with a torn rotator cuff.
Crushed the undefeated Ndou.
Brawled and crushed always game Chop Chop Corley.
Defeated the great Delahoya.
Schooled the crafty but undisciplined Zab Judah.
Made easy work of the tough Mitchell.
Whooped the on the rise Brussels.
Set a compubox record with #2 P4P Marquez all without breaking a sweat.
With the exception of the Marquez fight all of these fights were a demand from boxing experts and fans. Many experts and fans picked Floyd to lose most of these bouts but now these fighters are nobody's that posed no risks. Sad. Thats how it is when you're the best.
What does Margarito, Cotto, and Pacquiao have in common....they all retired Floyd.
When did Cotto, team Cotto or Bob Arum ever ask to fight Floyd? Never, they knew the deal. Cotto was never on Floyds level. Margarito was a nobody and still is. Pac ducked Floyd to fight Clottey. Please stop with this ridiculous nonsense. Where are your facts?
To start off with I like both guys but the double standards due to the hate MOST you fans have against Floyd is so obvious to see.
I have heard fans bash Floyd for a Cotto fight which has not even been mentioned because Cotto has already lost twice yet you do not bash Pacman for fighting Cotto AFTER Cotto had already lost terribly against Margarito.Instead its a great Pac win..funny that.
Now Pacman is set to fight Margarito who has lost countless amount of times and was destroyed by Mosley..Mosley already took Margarito's soul so why is Pac not getting bashed on by fans?
BOTH Oscar and Hatton already lost to Floyd but Pac still fought them and was never bashed on for this regardless if he was the underdog or not these 2 guys had already lost to Floyd but again he gets a pass.
Clottey has lost all his big fights yet Pac decides to fight him but no one bashes him for it.
Roach tells the media that Pac cannot fight Mosley because Mosley is too good????????? WTF!!!!! No one bashes Roach or Pac for this..Pac could of easily came out and accepted this challenge but he did not.
I could go on here with this but I am not hating on Pac himself but on most of his blind followers and most the media who bash Floyd for one thing but let Pac off for the same exact thing.
Regardless if I believe Floyd ducked anyone, that is not the point. Why is Floyd a victim of this double standard??
Please try and answer this seriously without all the childish dissing and if you feel I missed things out then please do say,I am not perfect and I may have missed some facts/point but at the end of the day, it is clear to me that this double standards is going over the top and I would like to know why??
lets debate!
peace
ps - for the record I think Pac-Marg and Floyd-Cotto are as bad as each other.if I had to pay for one,I know which one it would be.What about you?
Unfortunately these idiot don't like facts. I'm a Floyd fan to the fullest but i can except facts and give Pac his props when they're due.
its a very hard fight for both fighters
Really? Name one reason why this is a hard fight for Floyd. I believe,Floyd will walk right through Pac with no problems. I'm a die hard Floyd fan but not because of his money or his mouth but his skills. What skill set does Manny have that can give Floyd problems? Reach? Hell no. Ring generalship? Absolutely not. Speed? Possibly. Ring smarts? Are you kidding?! Power? Negative. South paw stance? Maybe. Reflexes? Please! Floyd is the most accurate and least hittable boxer alive. What happened that i missed that made Pac into this amazing boxer? Oh i remember....nothing. Now Pac has some how gained enough skill to be able to beat the best boxer alive? Wake up people.. Pac is too easy to hit, has mediocre skills and will get stretched in this fight. Roach has taught Pac to use both hands but he failed to teach him how to move his head. Say what you want about Floyd but alot of people are going to look real silly after this fight. Skill wise Pac is leagues below Floyd heart wise he's right there with Floyd but this is boxing and this is about hitting and not getting hit and Floyd is the best.. So if Pac beats Floyd he would have beat the best, but if Floyd beats Pac ...he just beat a great fighter.
who cares? why are the details important? if floyd didn't like them, at least make a statement about how it was crap and thats why he wasn't gonna sign.
Floyd made it worse for himself and making it apparent that pac agreed to everything and floyd didn't know what to do.
What? When did Floyd's team ever say they were negotiating with Pac's team? All i ever heard from Floyd was that he was relaxing and teaching at his boxing camp. First of all Floyd already said that if Pac doesn't except full random testing the fight wont happen. So when did Pac agree to full testing? Everybody is listening to what Arum is saying when the whole time there was nothing being worked out. I want to see the fight happen but Floyd has every right to ask for his demand just like Pac asked for his $10,000,000 per pound weight penalty. So if the contract sent to Floyd had anything other than full testing, why should he entertain that foolishness. Floyd said to the millions of people around the world after the Shane fight what it takes to make the fight. Right after Pac refused the fight in March Floyd stated that if his fight does better than Pac/Clottey he was not going for a 50/50 split. All of these things were clear and concise, how can anyone confuse these simple demands? Accept and make the fight or deny and fight someone else..easy. I bet Arum sent the same contract over that they refused in March!! F*cking retards. Arum fooled you all
Floyd is not doing random testing.
Get over it.
Other fighters are taking on Manny without any extra testing demands.
The only question the world is asking is,
"why is Floyd such a p ussy?"
Margarito - he has too many losses. Easy money, easy work.
Cotto - he lives too far. Easy money, easy work.
Pacquiao - hes on PEDs. Easy money, easy work.
Funny thing though,
hes never fought a single one.
They've all fought eachother.
Without any extra tests.
No logical rebuttal from you just the same idiotic responses. "Floyd's a p*ssy", Floyd's not taking random testing?! LOL. You sir are an Idiot
So Olympic style, is just the phony version.
We already knew that.
Real Olympic testing,
is year round, in and out of competition.
Floyd does not do random testing in any way, shape or form.
He does "Floyd testing", which is knowing the months you are going to get poked with the needles.
No, no buddy. I'm not a child and your silly antics and quotes wont work on me. The facts are: Floyd had the right to ask for whatever test he wanted to. Who cares why he asked for it, it was a reasonable request that was not an issue at the beginning of the first negotiation. A FACT on record, coming out of Freddie Roach's own mouth. It only became an issue when...amazingly Pac refused to accept it! Pac of course, has the right to refuse any extra testing. I mean he never fail any tests before so why should he have to take any extra tests now? Hmmm maybe it because its the biggest fight in boxing history!! Look we can speculate all day long but the facts are in stone and recorded for the world to see. Pac got a 50% money split even though Floyd is the PROVEN higher seller. If i'm not mistaken Pac also got glove and ring size. Floyd even agreed to an unheard of $10,000,000 per pound weight penalty. An UNHEARD of weight penalty!! But amazingly Floyd agreed.. Why would he agree to such and ridiculous contract stipulation?? Oh, because he never failed to make weight for sanctioned official weight class. So of course he would agree. Sadly Pac refuses to agree to a test that they both who have to take. Why/? The world is asking that same question. I mean really, you and your minions can continue to hate and lie but that will not erase the dilemma that Pac is facing:How in the world can he deny a $40,000,000 pay day just because of a little random blood and urine testing.
Note this,
Floyd has not done random blood testing in any fight.
Hes afraid of Manny just as he was afraid of Margarito and Cotto, even though, he said all three would be, "easy money, easy work"
Get over it.
You're a funny guy but stupid nonetheless! You see rookie, i'm gonna call you on your bullsh*t. First Floyd NEVER & I repeat NEVER asked for Olympic Testing.. thats a FACT. Why? Because he's not in the Olympics anymore, hes a pro boxer. Second, what he asked for is Olympic 'style' random blood and urine testing for himself and his opponent conducted through USADA..thats another FACT. Another fact is, he has taken random blood & urine testing. 1st during the Mosley fight and currently while training for the Ortiz fight. Can you understand those basic facts rookie?? You seem to think random blood & urine testing means Olympic Testing?! They are of course two totally different things. One is for an Olympic Athlete and one is an extra testing measure requested by a boxer negotiating a boxing contract. Starting to sink in?? I fortunately only focus on the facts! Who cares about he say she say sh*t?? The facts are what they are!
boxers are bigger today, they are pampered & make $$$ alot faster...you could say todays bi man could kill yesterdays small guy but can todays big man go 15 hard rounds? It's comparing apples to oranges.boxers fought everyone multiple times back in the day, they went 15 rounds, fought more often...etc but todays atheletes are bigger, have better training & medical facilities, better medicine & rehabbing clinics, etc.it's to hard to say who could beat who.many guys today couldn't fight in the old days & vice versa
True That.
I think its a combination of people who are really into the sport of boxing, and people who are in to boxing, but more or less just focus on their "favorite" fighter. They tend to become a cheerleader for that fighter, and anyone who is not that guy "is a bum waiting to be exposed"
Its sort of a "your team sucks, because its not my team" mentality.
My thoughts exactly. :headbang:
Its not that hard to understand. Pac refused a 14 day cutoff last Jan. ducked Floyd and fought Clottey. Obviously if a fighter is negotiating with another fighter then refuses to except a reasonable offer, it is easy to understand why that offer is no longer under consideration. After Floyd whooped Shane he made it clear that if Pac signs a contract agreeing to random testing with no cut off the fight can happen. We all waited patiently but Pac never agreed to testing with no cut off. This fact was confirmed on 24/7 yet the idiots still say Floyd's ducking. Pac ran from the gift of a 14 day cut off and now all of a sudden its Floyd who's scared. It still amazes me that this is all over a simple test that most likely will not be administered within 14 day of the fight anyways. Pac needs to stop making excuses and stop delaying this fight. No one cares what comes out of Pac mouth the only thing that counts is whats agreed to in the contract. Hows there gonna be 'negotiations' when there was nothing left to negotiate! The only thing left to do was for Pac to agree to random testing with no cut off date.
Now as far as your comments:
Are you f**kin serious! None of those so called expert opinions matter. Floyd Mayweather Jr. has more boxing ability & pure skill than any expert or boxer to have ever been in the game.
Name any boxer who is a better overall boxer than Floyd. Name any so called expert or trainer who has more boxing knowledge than Mayweather Jr.
Floyd may not be the GREATEST boxer to ever do it but he is without a doubt the BEST BOXER to ever lace up the gloves. Take your pick of who you think is above him and i tell you why Floyd is better.
Hatton was great- but Floyd was Better
Oscar was great- but Floyd was Better
Shane was great- but Floyd was Better
Pac is Great- but Floyd is so so much Better
Floyd is a coward - ESPN Really who the hell is ESPN?
ESPN= Non boxing knowledge having idiots.
Um that's cuz Floyd came in overweight in his previous fight and, since he was drinking a soda at the weigh-in, seemingly didn't give a shit.
Pac on the other hand has never tested positive for PEDs.
That having been said, I just want to see the fight, so I would be happy if Pac agreed to the OSTs.
$10,000,000 per pound???? I never even heard of anything like that. Ever. For a guy who always make his sanctioned weight didvision weight limit...always. A million per pound would have been more appropriate.
He never said he wouldnt!!!! From day one!!! May just keeps changing what he "neeeeeds" in order for the fight to happen. Way i see it is okay Manny agrees to your tests, right. He did you a favor now you do the man a favor and give him his cut off...its only fair. But Floyd dont work like that, he wants every thing the way he wants it, spoiled ****in brat. There should have been no tests from the get go the fight should have already happened and May should already have an "0" on his record instead of pickin on a fattened featherweight and a dinosaur in Mosley.....shame shame. If only Sugar Ray Leanord was still around.....hell even Hearns.
That dinosaur crushed Margarito and was the #1 WW in the world. Floyd whooped him now he coming for the fighter of the decade. No excuses! No excuses!
pac negotiated on the OSDT w/ a cutoff date, a test he could've outrightly have said no to, but he wanted the fight anyway.
floyd just had a history of not making weight, the $10K/lb commission penalty is chickenfeed for these two fighters.
Whats more likely pac being on PED's or Floyd Coming in over 147?
Floyd never came in over weight in a sanction weight division? F*ck those catch weights.
I dont think Pac is on PED's either but if Floyd has any reason to believe he is then he has the right to ask for stricter testing.
He lost all credibility when he claimed that floyd fears Shane, Shane has only ever called out Floyd when Floyd has a fight lined up
When both were free Shane wanted nothing to do with a stylistic nightmare on more than one occasion
I'll list one reason why Floyd - Pac will happen..MONEY.. its what they are fighting for at this stage of their careers
No truer words ever spoken.
And that would be a slightly above-average tuneup for Floyd.
Everyone is extremely divided on this issue - Floyd haters say he is picking on an extremely smaller guy and is a coward, and Floyd huggers say Marquez is the best fighter out there after Floyd and it is an extremely difficult match.
Both of these points are VERY wrong.
First of all, Marquez is NOT en extremely smaller guy, he may not have fought above 135, but Floyd has never been at 150 in the ring. Floyd's fight night weight at 154 was nearly identical to Marquez 130-135 fight night weight. Also, Floyd has made a career out of fighting bigger opponents. He's in his 30s, has been inactive for two years, yet the haters want him to face ANOTHER bigger guy right off the bat? You are just so eager to see him lose that it pisses you off that he will win yet again.
IMO, Marquez IS the best fighter after Floyd P4P, but to say he is a tough challenge for Floyd is crazy. Floyd is still stronger and bigger than Marquez, so the most difficult fight for him would've been a bigger opponent such as Cotto, or a more athletic opponent such as Pacquiao. Like I said before, you can't expect Floyd (or anyone who has been on a layoff) to take on the toughest challenge right after a long layoff. Look what happened to Winky Wright. Tuneups are customary in this sport. Diaz was a tuneup for Pacquiao coming up in weight. Jennings was a tuneup for Cotto after being KO'd. Even if Juan is the best fighter out there, he is a tuneup for Floyd because he is overmatched in every single aspect of boxing.
The reason I say he is a more difficult than average tuneup is that he is indeed a world class fighter. What I believe Floyd is telling us by choosing this fight is that he intends to go after the tough opponents (Cotto, Pac), and to be better prepared for them after a layoff he is choosing a highly talented guy whom he is still expected to beat.
People seem to forget, or ignore, that Floyd is coming off a layoff. He also has so many people that want him to lose, that if he took on the toughest fight, and looked bad in the process, he would get ripped to shreds and his aura of invincibility will be lost, as well as his drawing power. What's wrong with a great fighter taking on a still great but slightly less great fighter in his first fight after 2 years of inactivity? Why do the haters only rip Floyd for this, and why aren't the huggers honest about what this fight really is?
Couldnt agree more, good points!
The size issue is not an issue at all but thinking JMM will KO Floyd, that's beyond delusional. He has a chance because of his skill level but Floyd is superior in every department. This is a tune up for Floyd nothing more. Props to Floyd for giving JMM an opportunity to try to make history.
Floyd is the smallest WW in the history of the sport, infact the fukker is a LW who has packed on weight to fight Oscar
JMM will knock him out
I still don't understand how people are just counting JMM off......... while I do think Mayweather will win (I'm a JMM fan) I just can't completely count JMM off......
I'm a Floyd fan ofcourse but i'm also a JMM fan and i dont want to count him off too quickly either. But this is Mayweather and he's does have an almost 5 inch reach advantage. I hope JMM can make it competative because Floyd will exploit all of his flaws if he shows them that night. Good luck to them both.
