Larry Holmes, Heavyweight Champion:
I wish I could see Mayweather and Pacquiao fight, but what they're (Floyd's camp) doing right now is hurting
boxing because people want to see the fight... They're trying to bring up stuff that is taking away from the
fight with drug tests and accusations... I don't get it."
Joe Goosen, Legendary Boxing Trainer:
"I just think Pacquiao is a juggernaut right now... and I would just say that maybe that's the reason (Floyd's)
throwing up all these smokescreens and roadblocks because he (Floyd) doesn't wanna get in the ring with him
(Pac)... (Floyd) should just say yes to the fight, forget all the testing, this guy's (Pac) not on drugs.
There's a little air there in all this that's just not right.
Al Bernstein, Showtime Boxing Analyst:
“It seems patently obvious to me that Floyd and his minions killed the Pacquiao fight. The bottom line is that
the fight was basically a done deal before they decided to inject the demands for blood testing into the
picture. Pure and simple, Golden Boy and Floyd and his advisers created the problem, and it ended up killing the
fight.”
Dan Rafael from ESPN:
"Mayweather shouldn't be making accusations without a shred of proof as he tries to discredit all of Pacquiao's
great accomplishments, nor should he try to circumvent the Nevada rules by asking for blood tests when the
commission has never asked for them."
Thomas Hauser, HBO.com:
"There were times during the past month when the conduct of Team Mayweather had the look of an effort to
sabotage the fight. A negotiator who wants to make a deal doesn’t go out of his way to antagonize and publicly
embarrass the other side. But that’s what the Mayweathers and Golden Boy did."
Jim Strickland, David Diaz's Trainer/retired licensed pharmacist:
“I don’t see any reason of accusing Manny of using illegal drugs in our fight.”
Timothy Bradley, WBO/WBC Jr. Welterweight Champion:
"I don't think Manny is on anything. He's just on top of his game right now."
James Toney, Multi division Champion:
"Who is Mayweather to ask for the tests? Why didn’t he ask Marquez? Manny’s not on 'roids."
Mike Silver, noted Boxing Historian:
"I think it fell apart because basically Mayweather never wanted to fight Pacquiao. He wants to continue and
fight guys he can beat and fool the public.
Roy Jones, Jr.:
"Hell naw. Why change the rules on me? Because I'm coming up in weight means I'm doing steroids? They're giving
you a test for that anyway. It would be something that would aggravate me because then after I beat you, I was
on something, don't play with me. Either you want to fight or you don't want to fight."
Question: What does Mike Tyson, Lennox Lewis, Sugar Ray Leonard, Joshua Clottey, George Foreman, Roberto Duran,
Michael Moorer, Timothy Bradley, Chad Dawson, Winky Wright, Joe Goosen, Jose Luis Castillo, Juanma Lopez, Joe
Calzaghe, most boxing trainers and pundits in the sport, not to mention the Boxing Writers Assoc of America and
the Ring Magazine have in common ???
Answer: They all agree on who the # 1 P4P fighter in the world is!
Just out of curiosity, why do all Pacquiao fanboys post this same exact thing out of nowhere? LOL nobody cares, and you have too much time on your hands. Those guys have their opinions, just like Mosley, Bradley, Cintron, Malignaggi, Atlas, De La Hoya, Schaefer and pretty much everyone else backing Floyd have theirs and you don't see any Floyd fans quoting those. Are you actually okay with being a groupy?
he's doing it because the commission demanded it, I honestly think though he is not correct for denying Floyd's demands, he should have accepted Floyd's agreement of 14 days to make the fight as Floyd accepted his offer as well
if he agreed to the demand of the other party it amounts to giving up the fight before stepping in the ring. the FIGHT starts at the negotiating table not after the singing of the national anthem. boxing is a mind game as much as a physical one.
I disagree. I've always thought the fight did not fall through at all. This would be the sport's biggest fight since Hagler/Leonard and i've always felt that both sides mutually agreed to postpone the fight in order to plant controversy and hatred in order to further build intrigue around the fight as opposed to the "business as usual" approach that have become the norm for both pacquiao and mayweather.
And...my and your opinions could easily be parts of the same puzzle. I wouldn't rule that out either. I've thought along the same lines as you from time to time. Usually on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Is it such a surprise that Floyd and Manny are talking more about each other lately than their opponents Mosley and Clottey?
And, in my opinion, within your response lies the real reason for this fight not happening.
Mental angles determined the outcome of negotiations for this fight, nothing more, nothing less.
No one ultimately gave up on the pissing match and as a result the fight is not happening just now.
The extra testing is what FLOYD wanted, as you stated. This is true. And this would have given Floyd the upper hand mentally. And before anyone says it, I know Pac has been getting the upper hand on his last few fights now...good on him for that.
He who is mentally stronger has a MAJOR advantage going into the fight. FACT.
Both of these fighters are all to used to having the mental edge when it comes to competition. Floyd is a master at it...Pacquiao is getting better.
As of right now, Pacquiao holds the cards in this fight...right now, though. Come May 2nd, this may very well change if Mayweather becomes champion again and in good fashion.
But again, I believe this fight fell due to both fighters claiming to have the "bigger johnson".
I don't, for one second, believe Pac is juicing up with anything. He just happens to be good right now!
We'll see.............we'll see.

So Oscar De La Hoya, Ricky Hatton, and Miguel Cotto were the best?
Shane Mosley isn't the best?
lol what a dick, dont play like he wanted a mosley fight, he was forced to take it so he didnt look like even more of a duck.
oscar no, but everybody expected him to win.
hatton yes he was the best 140 lb fighter for the last 4 or 5 years and number 8 p4p.
and cotto yes, floyd avoided him because "he lives in puerto rico" and was also a top ten p4p fighter.
notice that none of those fighters are from 2 weight classes below. notice how when pac makes a catch weight, he makes it, unlike floyd who couldnt even do that.
It's not random and also more than likely not as thorough a test as the ones Floyd wanted.

Was Floyd planning to fight "The Best" after the Paquiao fight was called off or was it just a matter of circumstances that Mosley vs Mayweather is happening? Almost seems as if him fighting "the best" came at unexpected circumstances instead of an initial point to make a fight in the 1st place.
Would Floyd have waited for Mosley vs Berto winner or would he have fought someone else?
The best boxer alive: Floyd Mayweather Jr.
you only get the right to say your the best when you beat the best. not when you beat the best of 2 divisions below. remember that.
MANNY IS P4P KING and fighter of the decade.
The boxing voices are all for PAC so who the hell can be against him?
The best boxer alive: Floyd Mayweather Jr.
Whoa. Wait a minute. I thought Pac offered 24 days cutoff? Why is he is shown getting a TUBE drawn 20 days before the fight. When he didnt want a teaspoon drawn for a blood test 24 days before the fight?
yes, but thats just 1 test, with what floyd wanted they could turn up every day! i remember him saying "jus not the day of the fight" also. maybe he is also doing it to piss mayweather off a bit more because he knows that floyd really wants the money from the fight. i bet thats what it is.
Arum and team pacquiao wanted the fight to be in cowboys stadium. Richard schaeffer never even bothered to get on a plane to dallas and team mayweather declined without even listening to the offer.
why would team mayweather decline the fight being in vegas if pacquiao is going to be fighting in the EXACT SAME VENUE
Scharffer didn't travel to the staple center or MGM either. What he said was that he didn't need to see the stadium, he just needed to see the numbers which the other venues had supplied, but Jerry Jones had not.
Bob Arum: Look, whatever extra testing the commission deems necessary we will submit to. They decide what is best for the fighters. but floyd is not the commission and we will not let him make up his own rules. If they want extra testing let them take it up with the commission.
guess who deemed pac be subject to a blood test 20days within a fight and guess who never bothered to take up their extra testing demands to be greenlighted by the commission?
I doubt the commish ruled that a Pac Cotto fight for the WW title should be fought at 145. Nor did they say there will be a 10mil penalty for every lb a fighter comes in over weight. These are things that are agreed on in the contract. If Pac, his team, and his fans want to use the rules established by the commission, then they may want to live by them also.
reporter:Manny Pacquiao was visibly uncomfortable with the blood being drawn and avoids looking at the two vials of blood which will be subjected to different tests INCLUDING PERFORMANCE ENHANCERS
The b lood test he's pictured taking wasn't for performance enhancers. Have you read the rules of the Texas Athletic Commission? Just stop it.
