Don't get me wrong, I know Judah has a ton of talent, and "if" his head was screwed on right, he would beat Hatton. I just don't think, based on his past performances in big fights, that he is capable of doing that.
Hatton, everytime Judah has faced an elite fighter (with the possible exception of Spinks) he has been defeated. Hatton's pressure would be too much for Judah to handle mentally, and Hatton would stop him late.
The first four rounds, Hatton looked like an incredible fighter, anyone who debates that point is just hating him for the sake of hate, and can't discuss him rationally. However, he did appear to be bothered by Urango's body shots, and coasted over the final few rounds. I have only seen Hatton fight twice, against Collazo and Urango, and both times he faded late. Overall it was an impressive performance tonight, he won practically every round, but against Collazo, Mayweather, or Cotto, he will have to be able to substain the attack he showed he was capable of early in the fight to have a chance to win.
And every time Hatton has faced an elite fighter he.....hmmmm well he will hopefully face an elite fighter soon so we'll see.
Tszyu KO Judah 2, Hatton made him quit. Judah has tools, but he is so weak mentally, I can't see him winning this fight....
your foegeting alot of info.
Judah faced the undeafted Tzyu Hatton faced the guy after a long layoff from shoulder injury with an operation and in not britian but his hometown manchester where the ref let him to clinch as much possiable as he wants.
Tsyzu wasn't undefeated when he fought Judah, and was a 2-1 underdog, he destroyed Judah with the first clean right hand he landed. You can't say that Hatton has never beaten an elite fighter, when one of his opponents destroyed Judah...
I didn't, but power is the last thing to go, and I have to believe Tszyu would land at least one straight right against Judah...(and I did see the Judah-Tszyu fight )
There's some truth to that, although I think the Tszyu that lost to Hatton would still have beaten Judah (he was starched with a straight right, eventually that punch is going to land). Also, Judah couldn't cope with Baldomir's pressure, and pulled that stupid low blow on Mayweather, do you think he has the mental fortitude to cope with Hatton's roughouse tactics, without doing something stupid?
Anyway..this fight is at least a year away, Judah has lost his last two fights, he doesn't deserve a shot at Hatton yet...
Glad to see, the HW Champs are taking real challenges ......
You can't blame Wlad, he and Maskaev both wanted a unification bout, but the sanctioning bodies have once again stepped in to keep that from happening. At least Wlad will be clear of any more "top" contendors for a year, so there is some hope for a Unification bout later in the year.
Castillo had to be salivating when he saw the effect Urango's body attack had on Hatton. Although Castillo didn't look very good tonight, I would have to pick Castillo via a late-round stoppage because of his body-attack.
No, you're not too old. At least here in the States (and I assume it is the same across the pond) amateur competitions match you against people with similar age/experience. I was 16 when I started.
"Exactly my point. He never went down from a punch in that fight and it's really sad. You can't tell me that a 33-3 heavyweight champion (losing only to Tubbs, Bowe, and McCall) was THAT scared. If you watch both knockdowns, he FLIES down (practically jumps) face first onto the canvas, acting like it was from a forceful punch. He was clearly acting"
Michael Spinks had much greater credentials than Seldon, and if you look at him before the fight he was just as scared. Some of Tyson's opponents completley froze when they fought him. Seldon also had a glass jaw, Jose Ribalta knocked him face-down for almost a 10 count in the with the first punch in his fight with Seldon. This was not a "fix", it was a superior fighter completley destroying an inferior one.
Why does everyone keep mentioning Brewster? We all would love to see that fight, but he is recovering from a detached retina, then has a re-match with Liakovich. This fight is impossible to make.
It's funny you said that..because Peter is the one that reminds me of Tua. Strong chin, can knock your block off with one punch, but lacks the dedication (weight problems) and skill to ever reach the pinnacle of the division.
If he will destroy him so easily, why doesn't he make the fight instead of fighting the Julius Longs of the world? Pre-Wlad, Peter was calling out all the top Heavyweights, however now he is avoiding a fight with a marquee Heavyweight that would propel him back into the elite of the division. Is it business, or is he damaged goods? Only time will tell...
Byrd can still present problems for alot of heavyweights. I don't think any of the big boys would give him a shot though, if he goes back to his boxing style, he can make you look real bad until you catch him. I think he would give Rahman all he wants, but doubt that fight will ever happen. He definatley needs to stay away from the Klits, Liakovichs however..
Same result. Tyson always would have the chance to land the big one, but Lewis would have been supremley motivated for Tyson, unlike when he was caught by McCall and Rahman. Lewis was just too big, too strong, and too skilled for Tyson.
